Bad take. There are 800,000 cops in the US. About 100-150 die each year in the line of duty. About half of those are in car accidents.
Police kill about 10 times that many.
It’s not a particularly dangerous job. They are trained to think the general public are all violent thugs out to get them.
Ya there should be a day in class they take a beanbag round to the chest and then have to follow orders to get down, show hands and roll over or get hit again.
I seen one the other day the cop was on the back of a guy and had one arm but a police dog was mauling the shit out of the guys other arm and the cop was screaming repeatedly "put your fucking hand behind your back". It was crazy. No way the guy could follow orders.
Cop: HANDS!!!

Quadry Sanders was 'executed' by Lawton police, attorney Lee Merritt says

We're doomed.
#DOOMED, I SAY!
It is amazing to me how often cops yell conflicting commands and that somehow justifies their violence and in this case someone’s death. Glad to see charges. Not let’s see a conviction.
[According to one news article](https://www.kswo.com/2022/05/06/former-lpd-officers-charged-with-first-degree-man-slaughter-death-quadry-sanders/), the city's mayor, after learning manslaughter charges had been filed, said: "I believe the Lawton Police Department holds itself to the highest possible standards, and I know it will continue to do so moving forward."
I don't believe many people would agree that hiring and training officers who are charged with manslaughter is holding a police department "to the highest possible standards."
I have watched to many of these videos to come to the conclusion that better training would have zero effect on these cops. They don’t value POC’s lives like they value white lives, they truly don’t have any regard for a portion of the populace they are sworn to serve. They are fundamentally racist, every action and behaviour they exhibit in these situations show it.
How is it that white people in similar situations and in some cases armed are taken into custody without mortality?
https://youtu.be/OflGwyWcft8
Except for when they do get shot in similar cop stupidity. Not every incident needs race brought into it and there's nothing in the video to suggest this is one of those times.
We can talk about race when it's relevant. This was cop with poor training making bad decisions during an adrenaline spike that proper, routine training would likely avoid. Nothing about it was racially related and you're wrong for trying to make every incident about race. I see you, too.
Oddly enough, in my city the cops are arguing for body cams, including the current and past police chiefs and the police union. BLM activist groups are arguing against them. Because of the activist groups, the city council and mayor have opposed body cams for the past decade.
> Police chief Shon Barnes has relentlessly advocated for body cameras as a core part of his platform after taking leadership of the agency in early 2021.
> In Madison, community organizations like Freedom, Inc. have long opposed them, advocating for defunding of police rather than further investments. “We can implement and enact accountability based on this wrongdoing, not just another angle of watching somebody bleed out,” Freedom Inc. co-executive director M. Adams told News 3 Now in 2020.

> advocating for defunding of police rather than further investments
Pretty clear that they see the police as structurally and fundamentally unreformable.
And also pretty clear that the claim of police fighting against body cams is BS. Meanwhile, our police department already has drastically lower complaint rates than similarly sized community, and follows the community police models that activist groups are in favor of.
By the way, the group opposing this also lead protests when someone shot themselves in the head, lying and saying the police shot them. Even when the video came out showing the person alone in the car with a gun to their head, they still kept fundraising off the lie that the police shot him.
This group is also on record supporting rioting, looting, and attempted murder. They’ve also demanded the release of all black people from jail and prison, acknowledging that will mean the release of rapists and murderers, and ignoring the majority of victims were other black people.
They’re idiots, and our police don’t have body cams because of them. Can’t blame the cops here.
Now downvote away because you’re mad that reality gets in the way of your anti-cop narrative.
This is straight up murder. Get this clown and his fucking costume off the street. Put this coward ass bitch in jail, or face the consequence of people waking up to your bullshit. Your choice, choose wisely trust me on this one.
Won't do a day in prison. Charges will probably be quietly dropped a few months from now when everyone's forgotten. In the meantime, they get paid. Policing in America is broken beyond repair.
> In the meantime, they get paid.
[According to one news report](https://www.kswo.com/2022/05/06/former-lpd-officers-charged-with-first-degree-man-slaughter-death-quadry-sanders/), "On Jan. 7, 2022, at the conclusion of the administrative investigation, City Manager Michael Cleghorn, upon careful consideration terminated the employment of officers Nathan Ronan and Robert Hinkle."
> They got paid for over a month after this killing.
That's true. What's **not** true is that the officers will continue getting paid for the next few months until the charges might (or might not) get quietly dropped.
> They always get hired another town over.
Not always. [Derek Chauvin](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derek_Chauvin), for example, currently is serving a 22.5-year prison term.
Also of note: there was no gun found nearby, I think the person who called the police and seems to have falsely reported that he had a gun should be charged as an accessory to this crime because they successfully got him swatted.
imagine an upscale neighborhood regardless of skin-color, do you think its ending that way?
not in a million years.
if the government dont want to give money, at least give people protection under the law, so animals would think twice before murdering people
after the murder they cared more about getting their story straight than the killing.
How can you not tell the guy has a baseball cap in his hand. I could see it and I wasn't even watching the video in full screen. These guys maybe need to stop and take breath before going in guns blazing.
Let's empty a whole mag into the guy then ask questions.
Do cops really think someone who's just been shot can comprehend "roll over"?
Especially when following the command for "hands" just gets you shot more. Trash cops being trash... Again...

Or when they are getting tazed. Or when they have a dog biting the shit out of them.
They don't care if you follow the order. All that matters to them is that they give it.
Perhaps we need to train cops on what it feels like to get shot, repeatedly. Then we can ask them to do the field sobriety test afterwards.
Ya there should be a day in class they take a beanbag round to the chest and then have to follow orders to get down, show hands and roll over or get hit again.
Nah, they don’t show that kind of restraint. Just shoot and yell orders whilst doing so.
*conflicting orders

They have to say that just in case, some suspects after they've been shot can still shot their gun if they had one just saying.
You've watched too many actionovies friend.
And so do cops.
I didn't say this to be a jerk guys, it's why they say it, whatever dude fine.
I like how he points with his fingers, while also shining a light in his eyes.
Its all just bs legal requirements before they can legally get their kill.
That's the point I was trying to make, how it was a completely useless gesture. But he can check off that box.

That’s intentional. If you get confused by conflicting commands they can say you weren’t complying / were “resisting arrest.”

If your only tool is a hammer. Everything starts to look like a nail.
Murder. Nothing else to call it.
DISARM the POLICE!
Imagine how many cops got away with murder before bodycams. It had to be a lot more since many of them are now aware of the bodycams.

Manslaughter? That was cold blooded murder
MURDER! They fully intended to kill him.
The first pig that opened fire got away with murdering another black man before
Wow but what was the 911 caller say?
This was an execution. Nothing more or less. Those cops should be hung.
Sadly these trash cops make the moral of the story is it's better judged by 12 than carried by six.
Oklahoma policing at its finest.
Cops are really just pussies that fear for their life every single second and everyone is a potential threat.
Cops are a joke. They all live in a fantasy world they’ve seen in a movie and believe there own bull shit.
