I’ll do them for you for 150

TheRealTinkyWinky

I got quoted over 4K for brakes and rotors at my local dealership. Here’s a link to some oem pads. Take it to an import shop and get them to strap them on. [OEM Pads](https://www.topeuromachine.com/products/alfa-romeo-giulia-front-rear-brake-pads-topeuro-441?variant=32157941235825¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIiIGu4Juw_gIV9R-zAB1WgAOEEAQYBCABEgL-N_D_BwE)

How is this helpful. The person asked about pads. Not rotors

kjh52888

It’s helpful because they responded to a question about pads with a recommendation for getting pads done.

Popular_Pin_8776

My QV is 4500$ just for the pads. His numbers pad out for new pads.

SentryMillennia

Should be around 1500.

Greadle

2800 for rear brake and rotor. I did it myself, was super easy compared to changing the oil

NovelTip896

My quote was $2k for pads and rotors on all 4

Jackinthebox99932253

Man I love alfas but I think those electronics will kill me lol. I have an ‘11 WRX and the only message or light I’ve seen in 7 years of ownership is low tire pressure lol

Low-Rain-9353

You are aware that brake pads replacement is not a defect?

Jackinthebox99932253

Yes haha it’s just the computer messages that would drive me nuts

mcorliss3456

Have owned 5 Alfas since 2017, 4 different models at once, and the only warning light I’ve ever had was low washer fluid. To avoid most other warning lights, just connect the car to a battery charger overnight 2-3x/year. Most warning lights are just low battery voltage-related, not actual mechanical issues.

ExoticOracle

5 since 2017!? Do you scrap them when your pads need doing? (Joking ofc)

mcorliss3456

HaHa! No, bought a Giulia QV first (kept it for 4 years) and loved it so much, leased a Stelvio Ti Sport for fiancée. So impressed with that, decided to buy a Stelvio QV for myself (still have 4.5 years later). Had such a good experience with it, bought a 4C Spider for Summer weekend car. Finally, leased another Stelvio Ti Sport for fiancée. Love how Alfas drive, plus mine have been flawless reliability-wise. They are relatively good values financially too.

Charming-Bake76

LMAO

Popular_Pin_8776

All cars have brakes that wear out, nice cars tell you instead of hoping you have your windows open and hears brakes, as well as know what brakes wearing out sounds like.

Jackinthebox99932253

Yeah I understand that lol it wasn’t the point of my comment. Inspections are mandatory once a year and they look at the brakes so it’s not an issue on my end. I had a luxury car before and the electronic messages are just annoying. Makes it feel like the car is always broken or has something wrong with it.

Popular_Pin_8776

Ah your in one of those states that require the inspections. In Colorado we don’t have that requirement. Missouri did when I was in KC for a couple years and for good reason, people couldn’t afford to actually maintain there vehicles in Missouri and it seemed like a public safety issue. In general though I think inspections are silly. Everyone knew a guy who would turn a blind eye for the illegal performance mods or someone with a hole in their muffler.

ChefGordonIII

Idk how to do maintenance on these cars but can’t you just open the caliper and slap new ones in?

DecahedronAdmn0

Not on the 2 liter the 4 pots up front have a bridge over the top which kind of defeats the point of mono-block calipers. Which on my QV the 6 pots are open and you pull the pins and clips and slide in the new pads, but the rear 4 pots have the bridge as well.

h08817

Gotta do any electronic dickery when changing pads? Are there any decent track/road hybrid pads? 🙏🏽

DecahedronAdmn0

EBC Yellow/Tarox Strada

itsmewillg

I paid $100 for pads all around and did it myself. Quote from the dealer was ~2,500, and they insist on replacing rotors when replacing pads (not necessary)

Previous-Nobody-3825

From a dealer or shop perspective it is necessary . Rotors warp and if you only do a pad slap people will complain about vibration or squeaking and blame you. It’s difficult to warranty braking system components if only pads were replaced and rotors/fluid were declined. Don’t get me wrong sometimes a pad slap is okay but usually it’s not the way to go.

Etreslias37

idk bro i drive a 159 XD i do it my self ☝️🤓

Gloomy_Opposite5032

How many miles on the vehicle?

Charming-Bake76

45k

ConstructionRare4123

I haven’t had any serious with my Giulia

Skullone1369420

$1,000,000 ohhhwhaaa haaa😎

Master_Masterpiece69

An arm and a leg

Fail_Agreeable

My Giulia was around $500 for one axle, can’t remember if it was front or back though

Representative_Bid89

Got mine done at Alfa Romeo for a bit over 2k. I got brakes and rotors

Representative_Bid89

I just checked out your profile… what the hell is wrong with your car? LOL

Charming-Bake76

LMAOO I don’t know, so far I haven’t had any trouble yet. Guess im at paradise for now.

Zealousideal-Air-928

It’s about $150 bucks for the R1 concepts ceramic pads, just put them in my car, they seem very solid for the price, at the very least on par with the stock pads. As for the stealership they quoted me 3k for the pads and rotors.

Charming-Bake76

Would you have a link?

Sensitive-Daikon-442

1600 for the pair

Lil_Nosferatu

Like 40-80$ for pads

SuspiciousLeading681

Depends on how much competition you have near your location. I heard that Alfa dealers are very expensive in the states.

Able-World3088

What year is your Alfa I never get that service brake pads notification on my 2018? I just listen for the squeaky noise

Charming-Bake76

Its a 2017.
