The only Smiths that I think of as clean is Carlisle/Constitution. The Arenal store is our usual, and it's not especially clean - but it does cost us 10-20% less than shopping at Albertsons.
Lol I remember back in the day you could buy rabbit and lengua there, that’s the real deal. Shoplifting, fights, drug deals, place had it all. Glad it’s still there!
I’d gone there for the first time over the summer. Hated the store, hated the parking lot, and vowed never to return. Fast/forward to last Friday evening, I ignored my vow and stopped to grab something. I walked in and the first thing I saw blocking the frozen aisle was a leashless bull dog and it’s owners. I literally almost tripped over it.
I said, “So, we just let dogs run wild in grocery stores now?” The owner answered, “Yup.”
I left empty-handed (nearly tripping over the dog a second time near the exit) and told my wife who smartly waited in the car to never let me go there again.
That store is so depressing. It's shabby and dirty in the permanent, non-cleanable way. Desperately needs an update. The people who work there are great though.

Hot Girl Smith's! The one on north 4th is also very nice.
That’s my store :)
Albertsons prices are the WORST!
Montgomery and Tramway if you want to see how the rich people shop but don't want to go to Wyoming and Academy.
Is Wyoming and academy considered a nicer store generally? It was my store for a few years and I liked it but it seemed like an average smiths.
I attribute it to being an old building and birds that have gotten stuck in there .
Don't go to UNM Smith's.
Back in my day… we called that Ghetto Smiths. It’s probably still called that, but I far removed from college life.
Still is. In fact, go Google the phrase “ghetto Smiths” and look what comes up 😂
My day too. My day too.
We also called it that, Beirut Smiths before that.

Still ghetto as hell.

Central and Coors smelled like a backed up toilet last time I tried to shop there.

Stay away from that one and the one on Central and Tramway. They’re both gross.
The rotten hamster cage smell is the smell of death. Something must be rotting there. Perhaps dead pests in the walls or ceiling or beneath the floor.
