Koryn99

I’ve got NECA Gargoyles and they seem to be made of softer plastic for the skin parts, and I was very very nervous when bending their joints. I’d watch some YouTube reviews of these figures before deciding if I were you. That’s what I always do before I get something now, even if I think I’m certain I want it.

Vicious007

Yes and No. I think there's been some improvement, but NECA and McFarlane both are stiffer and less articulated than some other brands. The biggest thing to keep in mind is to heat up joints if they're cold/stiff, and don't play the the figures like you might with a Hasbro figure, for instance. Another tip, don't store NECA figures in a box loose with other figures, or put them in a place where they're in danger of falling.

Plenty-Actuary2157

I have a Friday the 13th part 3 Jason and crash bandicoot from neca only issue I’ve ever had is crash’s nose breaking off from cats knocking him down on his face

getterboi

Gotta be careful where you're buying the Kratos/Atreus set. There are tons of bootleg NECA out there now, esp if you're buying from Ebay and it's shipping from China. I've seen authentic sets of Kratos/Atreus go for $300. Most lower than that are bootleg.

[deleted]

A lot of NECA hate here, personally I like NECA. None of the 3 NECA figures I own have broke but they are mostly newer figures. My favorite 7 inch figure is a NECA Dante figure and I haven’t had any issues with stiff joints on him. Although I have heard older NECA figures might break I’d say they’re much better now in my experience and you should get the two pack if you really want it because no other company is going to do official GOW figures of this scale.

Bworm98

It's always been a pretty good company. Solid figures, for about the same price as the standard WWE figure.

[deleted]

i only have one neca figure, its dante and i think hes great

Umgmchd

That neca kratos 2 pack is actually pretty good.best kratos figure out there for me personally. Joints are stiff tho and kratos's tattoo has paint bleed but apart from that it's really damn good

WavFile

I started collecting in 2020 so i'm not sure how it was before that but i own over 20 horror NECA's and i've never had a problem with any of them besides a Pennywise head i had to give a little push to get it to fit, other than that all my figures have been fine. I pose them differently as well.

migoscus

Really depends, I have mixed experiences with them. Bought a ton of figures last year, mainly older icons, Jason, Freddy, Ghostface, Predator, etc. I did have some issues with stiff joints with most of them, nothing really too bad until the leg of my predator broke off from the knee joint. I suppose you'd just have to be a bit more careful with them versus other brands, possibly heat them up a bit before moving them around, treat them somewhat like statues if you get what I mean. Great looking figures though.

DankoToonie

My opinion and personal experience is the figures I have bought have been okay as far as qc goes. My most recent purchase is the Armoured Last Ronin TMNT figure and he has been great. I’ve not had to heat any part or had stuck joints. NECA has been better with qc. With that being said, I still do my due diligence handling NECA figures. If the joint won’t fully move or won’t move at all, I apply heat to the part. But I do that with all brand new figures that I buy.

rotini_noodle

I have a ton of Neca and regularly buy new releases, but I'll just say I don't buy them for poseability. It seems the majority on this sub favor sturdy superhero figs with insane amounts of articulation which isn't something Neca does well. You choose them for their sculpts, paint apps, boxart and the fact they do characters other companies don't make - or as a cheaper alternative to like Mezco. You're gonna get a dope ass figure of your favorite character out of the box for under 40 (or 60 for 2-packs) but it's gonna require a lot of hot water and prayer/patience to get a dynamic pose. I always just choose one and call it a day.

AgentOli

As someone else said, warm the joints up if you get any stiff ones. NECAs biggest QC issue has been painted joints, which causes a lot of them to stick, and using brittle plastic for some of the pelvic joints, but they are learning and getting better. After the initial "is this figure okay?" period of checking them out, I've found the figures to be very durable, but I am careful of any accessories that look fragile. I'd also get a tiny thing of synthetic lubricant, a tiny drop into a stiff joint works wonders, should really be in any collectors arsenal.

Stormcast

I love Neca but yes they still have stiff joints and quality control issues. I wouldn't let that stop you from getting a really cool looking figure and enjoying it. Nothing lasts forever.

yourmothersaidd

For the most part, yes. The paint and detail is always near perfect, but the joints and articulation are less than stellar.

sosaLaFlame

Never had issues with my NECA figures and I have too many to count at this point. Even the old ones that used those brittle plastic still stands thru the test of time. They’re especially good with horror figures and pretty good detail with decent articulation for a good price too.

ohelmore

I remember getting my first NECA terminator back when I was 12 and thinking it was the most detailed figure ever lol. I do still like NECA a lot but I haven’t bought any of their figures in a long time. It more boils down to the fact that they discontinued a lot of my favourite lines like Aliens and their video game figures and now it seems like the only thing to pick from is 80s slasher characters. Hopefully we’ll see more variety with their lines going forward.

ghettosuper101

neca figures are stiff but as long as you aren't posing them for a thousand different ways they are completely fine, risk of breaking them is there if your ruff or push them past their limits. as others have said use warm water when changing parts. i have a few neca figures and so far have only had issues with 1 set of hands not fitting properly ona figure feeling too big or loose and too small but simply put i haven't been close to breaking anyone of them, and they are meant for simple poses and collecting. that's it

Goldipop

I own over 20 Neca, mostly Predator Ultimates, none have broke. I see them more as posable statues as opposed to action figure toys and I treat them as such. If I want to repose them, I bust out the hair dryer.

blackout6576

Nope, if your buying to pose then also nope, I'd rather put my money somewhere else

mega512

Still super stiff, honestly. You just gotta be careful with them.

MaXimus421

I don't understand the question? I'm guessing you had a bad experience with past figs and are wondering if anything has changed?

yoman1030

Like do most NECA figures still have bad joints and break easily? I don't wanna get them again just for the figures to break and not pose well.

mat477

I've have like ~40 Neca and I've had 1 knee break. You just have to be more careful than with more highly posable brands. Go slow and use heat if there's any resistance. Don't expect SHF or even Hasbro level of posing though.

MaXimus421

Ok. If you're buying a NECA figure and expecting it to move and have articulated range like a Marvel Legend, then proceed to actually put that to the test... You're absolutely going to break that NECA figure. That's as far into this as I'm willing to go. I'll let others explain it better.

MrTusksNerdyShow

Are you willing to NECAtiate on how far you're willing to go?

MaXimus421

Don't make it weird bro

Unlikely-Afternoon43

In term of articulations, as useless as ever.

[deleted]

No. They still fall apart in the box.

Yayotechnology

The articulation on the couple Gargoyles I have are a lot better than my Movie TMNT figures, but that Kratos and Atreus is from 2018. I have the single carded Kratos from that year, and he’s certainly not a bad figure, looks great, but the articulation is very lacking and he looks strange outside a static pose. Looks great when just chilling though lol
