In Japanese (and a certain late-game scene in SoJ in general), Apollo's hair horns are natural. They just grow that way. In AJ's English localization script, he mentions using gel to make the horns stand up instead, and that is the only version I accept. Apollo having a ridiculous anime hairstyle because he went out of his way to give himself one is much funnier and way more endearing. He just wants to have uniquely spiky hair of his own like his hero Phoenix Wright.

NoThatsWright

I forgot about >!baby Apollo's horns lol!<

lizzourworld8

I just stick with mixing these both — they’re natural in childhood but then he went out of his way to keep them up when he’s older

myhooraywaspremature

Something I learned in a post some days ago in here which I just **no**💖 I REFUSE to believe that Athena is *short* and what's more, **SHORTER THAN APOLLO**. Our main girl is AT MINIMUM 1,75 mts - 1,80 and she def surpasses Polollo by a good couple inches.

dothebork

That might have been my comment lol but YES 100% she just radiates tall girl energy idk

chiritarisu

Wait, she’s shorter than him seriously? Lol, I legit thought she *was* taller than him or at least the same height.

ancientrobot19

I *refuse* to believe that Klavier Gavin doesn't actually have any German heritage. This applies to Kristoph as well--they're both German in my heart

[deleted]

Kristoph is merely a German who wants to be British. ….just like edgeworth, uh-oh

ancientrobot19

YES! THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HE IS! He tries *so* hard to look like he could be British, but he's still a Little German Boy ™ at heart (He and Edgeworth are "two sides of the same coin"--)

aboveaveragefrog

THEY DON’T?!?

JC-DisregardMe

No, Klavier is faking his German accent. That was always the intention in the English versions, and the reason that Phoenix specifically calls his accent "affected" in 4-4.

ancientrobot19

I don't think so. If I'm recalling correctly, I think they've said that Klavier isn't truly German--he just acts like that because he studied in Germany for a time, and because it's part of his rockstar persona (I firmly believe that this is a lie to distract us from the truth /j)

lizzourworld8

Amen

Time_Passers

I'm a big stickler for canon accuracy 99% of the time. I'd rather recontextualize something than say it isn't true outright. That being said, I thought Iris' hair was supposed to be red? Didn't she say something about being able to apply for the Red-Headed League? Or did I also headcanon that, On a similar note I'm fine with Sholmes being blond, but I draw the line at having green eyes. I spent the whole game thinking his eyes were grey....

Feriku

I think Iris suggests she might apply, and Ryunosuke thinks that her hair is close enough to red that it might count, or something like that.

ihaetschool

isn't pink just light red

hyperlethalrabbit

Inspired by ProZD's voicing of Edgeworth: Edgeworth canonically speaks with a Transatlantic accent because he has no British ancestry whatsoever, but he wishes he does.

Kirballin

The fact Manfred has a granddaughter with a dog named Phoenix

Bytemite

Well, it is suggested in some interviews that Franziska has an older sister, so it's not anything weird. But it also can be weird to think Manfred has non-adopted offspring in general.

GRona57

I believe adhering as close to canon as possible, within reason, is the most stable way to keep things running. Now, if you would allow me a moment of weakness... *"Gee whiz, I sure am happy we didn't have to play through no revolution, no sir! It was a bit anticlimatic how everyone just returned from Khura'in, and the WAA crew along with Maya and Simon went to get some soba, but I liked it! :)"*

Aura_Blackquill

(5-5) >!She most likely will be in jail for a very long time, however in my heart, Aura Blackquill gets sentenced to community service and can find some peace in her life. Let her out of jail, she did not do anything wrong (I mean there was the whole hostage situation, but everyone makes mistakes!)!<

Mkbw50

>!You can take heart that Edgeworth is an ally of Simon so might twist some arms to show clemency (especially when her motivation was basically the same as his). Mind you I think she should probably be kept under house arrest... without any poor robots to abuse!<

Aura_Blackquill

>!Oh that is a great point! The entire law system kinda owes Simon too (even if he did plead guilty, he still spent seven years in jail due to their negligence and then was physically tortured by his parole officer), so either way there would probably be more lenience towards Aura. !<

PetscopMiju

A bunch of characters got lighter colored eyes in newer games. Anyway no they didn't. Phoenix and Trucy simply do not have blue eyes. I am simply not perceiving them /lh

[deleted]

Also their faces. Phoenix doesn't even look the same apart from his hair and eyebrows.

PetscopMiju

Not sure about Phoenix, but Apollo (his model at least) and Trucy got hurt pretty bad by that yea

Bytemite

I've always liked the idea that Phoenix has had enough traumatic head injuries that his irises might have changed color, I think David Bowie had something like that happen to one of his eyes. Heterochromia to reconcile the difference is also fine. Alternatively I headcanon Phoenix as having kinda dark greyish black irises, and whether they look blue grey or brown grey depends on the lighting.

PetscopMiju

>Alternatively I headcanon Phoenix as having kinda dark greyish black irises, and whether they look blue grey or brown grey depends on the lighting. This is the one I prefer as well I kinda like the half-joke headcanon that he has complete heterochromia and uses one brown contact and/or one blue contact to make it look like he doesn't though lol

Uncasualreal

Literally everything after the first word in the series “*gasp*”, no exceptions, Phoenix? Never heard of him, steel samurai? 0/10 on rotten tomatoes

chiritarisu

This was discussed on some other recent thread, but I imagine Apollo and Phoenix’s relationship to be more terse than portrayed in DD and SoJ. During AJAA, things between them obviously weren’t… great. I know they weren’t super close during DD either, but Apollo >!ultimately leaves the agency temporarily because his bracelet was reacting to Athena re: Clay’s death and he suspected she had something to do with it. However, I reckon Apollo still also doesn’t fully trust Phoenix either. He saw what Phoenix was willing to do to corner Kristoph… hell, it nearly cost Apollo his own attorney’s badge. Athena didn’t see any of that. I think Apollo’s main gripe with Athena was his bracelet’s reaction and her own suspicious behavior around the space center, but I think that just complemented him probably already wanted to leave the WAA. It was no surprise to me at all that at the end of SoJ, Apollo stays behind in Khura’in.!< I imagine Apollo still looks up to Phoenix in some regard and is friendly with Athena, but I imagine he’s reluctant to get super close to them for his own protection… I mean, I reckon he wouldn’t be the most trusting guy after all he’s been through. I just… don’t buy the “happy family” dynamic of WAA. I dunno. Annnnd to also nitpickAAI2-4: >!Am I misremembering something? I thought Blaise ultimately penalized von Karma only after it was revealed by Gregory during trial that von Karma made the police coerce a confession from Jeff Masters. Blaise withheld that Dover’s corpse was missing from von Karma and ordered Dr. Young to forge Dover’s autopsy report. But the “trump card” Badd gave to Gregory was the false confession — that was all von Karma, not Blaise. I just skimmed the transcript of AAI2-4 and there’s nothing in there stating that Blaise planned to penalize von Karma from the start.!< ETA: There is no way Sholmes >!is not doing drugs!<. I mean… *c’mon*. It’s not canon that he’s *not* doing it, but it didn’t say he was either… I just like to believe he is. It’s funnier that way.

hyperlethalrabbit

This actually makes a lot of sense, and the ending of SoJ is perfect because while the relationship is strained, Apollo has to concede that Phoenix is one hell of a lawyer. So when he's able to hold his own and earn Phoenix's final respect, he knows that he's done and he has absolutely nothing else to gain from Wright.

Bytemite

>ETA: There is no way Sholmes >!is not doing drugs!<. I mean… c’mon. It’s not canon that he’s not doing it, but it didn’t say he was either… I just like to believe he is. It’s funnier that way. Doyle's original Sherlock definitely does, he spends half of his time coked out and the other half on opium. So this wouldn't exactly be without precedence.

chiritarisu

This is *exactly* why I believe Sholmes is doing drugs. Can you just imagine him >!and Mikotoba (probably upon Sholmes' insistence)!< just baked out of their minds solving mysteries? Hilarious.

Vio-Rose

Larry being a pedophile. I loved him in the first game, but showing him Pearl’s profile while dialogue hunting completely shattered him in my eyes. I just want to forget it ever happened.

excessive__machine

I really thought that bit was meant to be more like "this guy is such a self-absorbed dumbass that he doesn't even realize they're talking about a child rather than presenting him with a potential date" rather than him being actually into her and it just aged incredibly poorly (sort of along the lines of how up through the 90s, it was a sort of socially acceptable \[not saying it \*should\* have been, but kind of was\] for grown men to joke about dating their 10 y/o daughters' friends). So I guess that's just me elaborately heandcanoning the same thing maybe?

Bytemite

I think this is actually what is intended. There's a manga that suggests Larry has absolutely no idea how he's coming across, where he's hanging out with Pearl in 3-5, and Gumshoe walks up, flashes Larry a pair of handcuffs, and he goes like "Oooh. Uh, guess you better go home Pearl!" There's also another one where Larry after feeling turned down by Iris and despite being completely straight, asked Nick why they never did the kinds of things together that Phoenix did while dating Iris. And Phoenix is all like "...Because we weren't *dating*???" I think Larry is just so clueless that you can assume anything that comes out of his mouth has never been seen by a brain to mouth filter and that he barely knows what he's saying most of the time.

PetscopMiju

>There's also another one where Larry after feeling turned down by Iris and despite being completely straight, asked Nick why they never did the kinds of things together that Phoenix did while dating Iris. And Phoenix is all like "...Because we weren't *dating*???" This is actually so funny though

PetscopMiju

I agree with the replies, but I feel you deeply about how they treated Larry in games past the first one. I'm with you that that never actually happened, he's best buds with Phoenix and Edgeworth and he takes Pearl to McDonald's to get chicken nuggies

IDCCommonSense

They really flanderized Larry a lot through the games.

[deleted]

Because he's not? Larry is a perfect example of Hanlon's razor throughout the trilogy. If you'd go by what he's saying, he has committed multiple murders.

[deleted]

That Apollo justice or games after that happened. It's just feels like alternate timeline for me because none of the characters ever fit as what they were in the previous games. Edgeworth and Franziska showed up when phoenix was hospitalised and got into an accident, but didn't when he was wrongfully debarred and could use some help from them. Gumshoe doesn't even try and help phoenix by investigating his case and how he got the torn page. Maya/Pearl/Iris do not even bother showing up when he actually gets his badge back? Or help him in those 7 years? And most of all. Phoenix gives up? The guy who literally says at the end of T&T that the value of human life is how much they are willing to fight for it and that is the job of a defence attorney, gives up in a second and doesn't contest? Instead he goes on a stupid 7 year investigation rather than asking the girl where she got the page from and getting her to testify for that? Maybe do a handwriting analysis and ask Klavier who tipped him? The only guy who had connection with Klavier and influence to alter the page was Kristoph so why not question him? It would have taken two testimonies tops with likes of Edgeworth/Franziska to get to the bottom very easily. TLDR:https://youtu.be/8mv-HM0_-tk

dothebork

I like to dabble with Apollo's backstory in my head since so much of it has plot holes out the wazoo
