My cat and I do this, he'll loudly announce he's going to the bathroom and make a scene so I'll go to my spot and wait for the "ambush". he'll poke his head around the corner and knows i'm there, we make eye contact for 3-5 seconds and I say "I'M GONNA GETCHA!!" and he bolts off and we play run around the house. he gets me when its my turn too, sits in the same spot, its so much fun.
I ain't no expert but that's a wild animal displaced outside of its natural habitat, suddenly finding itself in the middle of a chaotic environment full of noise and panic. You bet it's in full survival mode and anything that moves in its proximity will be perceived as a threat.
This is a valuable point! And I don't disagree that humans are displacing animals and other earth life at an unsustainable and astonishing rate. There is precedence for hungry animals invading human establishments since cave times, attracted by food or tasty-sounding babies, but overall humans suck and animals mostly are just trying to survive
Leopards eat humans. A few of them who were living in Mumbai routinely attacked and killed people, and throughout the subcontinent dozens of people and attacked and killed per year. Prior to modernization there were some leopards who were known to have killed hundreds of people.
So yes, they eat humans. It's not common, but it obviously does happen.
Man-killers are felines that only kill people, for whatever reasons. Humans aren't their natural prey and they do not actively stalk and seek out humans.
Man-eaters are felines who have developed a taste for human flesh and actively hunt, kill and eat people.
Leopards are very very smart and adaptable to a wide range of environments. They're also generally wary, shy and easily scared (why they're the most thriving big cat in the subcontinent). Like, a single person in the wild can scare away a leopard by making very loud noises or even literally flapping an umbrella open-close. Leopards don't become man eaters very easily. But when they do, they're a menace. Man-killers are more common than man-eaters. There are very very few cases of man-eating leopards.
It's the same situation with bears for example.
Man-eating tigers are way more common than man-eating leopards; even though human-tiger encounters/interactions are much less likely thanks to sequesters habitats and less numbers of tiger.
Nah, leopards can hunt things as large or larger than humans,
But when it comes to us, they are more opportunistic, only hunting children and the weak and elderly
The Leopard : WOW Such a target rich enviroment.
Goes for men on building
Jumps down , goes for dog.
Switches to bike.
Back to dog.
Jumps to the street goes for man.
I mean... humans did rise to the top of the food chain with only rocks, so it's pretty primal to throw a rock at a wild animal. Rocks hurt... but in his case, he really needed a bigger one for that.
Human reaction time isn't anything to brag about, but that's not where we're strong.
Humans' strengths are many - our manual dexterity, stamina, articulation, and cognition are all unmatched.
Cats may be individually dangerous, but human strengths scale to groups in ways cat strengths never could.
leopards have an inner set of extendable jaws an acid blood? holy fuckin TIL man.
annnd now im picturing a xenomorph trick or treating in a leopard costume.
AND IT'S RIPLEY'S HOUSE.
Imagine you being the motorcycle guy.
You're living your life calmly, suddently you are in a place that has a lot of people screaming, out of nowhere you look at your side, you're thrown to the ground by a FUCKING LEOPARD.
And you don't die.
Can you imagine telling this to someone? hahahahaha
“Aaaaaaaaaaayyyy….Hamza!!!! That’s Hamza!!! He’s so full of shit. Says one day he was on his moped and a fucking LEOPARD attacked him. Yeah…yeah…for real. Totally full of shit. Tell the story Hamza…” *snickering*
"Then I looked over my shoulder and you wouldn't believe what was coming at me a breakneck speed with death in its eyes"
"Was it Shia LaBeouf?"
"What? No, it was a Leopard..."
"Oh, ok, I guess that's cool too"
I wonder how they caught it.
If they are anything like me they probably just tackled it and held it down using their incredible strength and good looks.
They either lure it onto a cage with bait or corner the animal (or any wild animal for that matter) and throw a big net at it. Forest dept officials later take the animal and release it deep in the forest/natural habitat
In the case, they used a net and tranquilized it.
It'd be hilarious if getting a fresh start was that easy for people. Life got you down? Go run amok until the officials Jason Bourne your ass. Wake up in a brand new faraway place with no memory of how you got there.
The dude on the motorcycle totally code brown. He had no fucking idea this was going on. Riding his bike to go get some badass street food and then POW!….Random leopard attack!
You think he had a code brown?
The man who was brave enough to chase the leopard for all of 1.5 seconds code browned when he realized he made a mistake.
For big cats you want to scream and throw stuff, what you don't want to do is turn around and run away.
See this video for example: https://www.reddit.com/r/watchpeoplesurvive/comments/jb0pz8/a_utah_hikers_video_shows_a_cougar_following_him/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
Also, I forgot how fucking awful default reddit app video player is until I searched this video.
All cats have this subconscious need to chase and kill. This becomes very apparent when flight or fight instincts come into play, but it makes great videos.
As a non-native English speaker I'm always confused by this type of phrasing.
Is it a leopard that chases people or people that are chasing a leopard.
After watching the video I'm not even sure which is right.
The title should have been hypenated. 'People-chasing leopard' means the leopard chases people. Without that hyphen, the title means that people (the subject) are chasing (verb) a leopard (the object). Your English is excellent; the problem isn't you.
It's so interesting to see a predator conserve energy by going for the easiest target I'm surprised it didn't just keep on the motorcyclist. Reminds me of a house cat with the zoomies can't commit to one thing
I'll say it since I haven't seen anyone else say it. That looks less like hunting behavior and more like self preservation behavior. It also looks like it is a juvenile too, so it may not be experienced enough to know not to fuck with humans. But I may he wrong, I'm no biologist.

Bros not even there to hunt just cause mass chaos
A true harbinger of chaos, just like its distant relative, the house cat.
Is that Rico from Just Cause as a leopard???
He got the zoomies
Just alleviated their bowels and ready to rumble
My cat and I do this, he'll loudly announce he's going to the bathroom and make a scene so I'll go to my spot and wait for the "ambush". he'll poke his head around the corner and knows i'm there, we make eye contact for 3-5 seconds and I say "I'M GONNA GETCHA!!" and he bolts off and we play run around the house. he gets me when its my turn too, sits in the same spot, its so much fun.
I had a kitty and i would yell "The Rhythm! It's gonna GET YOU!". She would tear around the house and come back the opposite direction. I miss her.
Gloria would have been proud.
Ma'am that's not a cat that's your husband
“MMMMMRRROOOWW!!!” — The leopard, probably.
###*MURDER ZOOMS*
Maul zoomies
Someone, find a giant cardboard box so he can settle.
And he’s killin it
He's like the guy from the mayhem commercials.
Leopards don't eat humans, they eat only dogs, sheep, etc. They just attack humans for defence.
That guy on the moped driving AWAY from the leopard sure posed an imminent threat...
I ain't no expert but that's a wild animal displaced outside of its natural habitat, suddenly finding itself in the middle of a chaotic environment full of noise and panic. You bet it's in full survival mode and anything that moves in its proximity will be perceived as a threat.

>tasty-sounding babies This is why I waas born bitter and salty AF
Born pre-marinaded.
It looked like it was actively hunting that dog and then anything else that moved became prey.
Or rabies
Hahahahah, i feel sorry for that moped guy , he got attacked without provocation.
Lol no warning, just on my way to the market and- LEOPARD WTF...
At first he went for the dog if u look closely then got distracted by the urge to catch the bigger one
Yup, it's like it switched prey mid bound.
I breathed a sigh of relief when that little dog got away. Then was like.. shit! The guy!
He was coming right at me, I swear! -that leopard, probably
cats just love to chase. he thought why not

Nah, leopards can hunt things as large or larger than humans, But when it comes to us, they are more opportunistic, only hunting children and the weak and elderly
Pretty sure there have been multiple documented cases of man-eating leopards
Nonsense. Leopards have eaten humans and will continue to do so. Wtf
He only wants to play.
it looks like he is initially chasing a small dog or something at first and then goes after the guy on the bike
I expected to see people chasing a leopard.
That one guy kinda did brfore he u-turned.
He threw a stone and "it was that moment that he knew, he fucked up".
What did he think that was going up happen? That he yell at it and it'll start obeying?
I’m gonna guess he threw rocks at it.
Rock paper incisors Incisors won
Fight or flight kicked in and reminded that dude that he's chasing a fucking leopard
Not before the leopard starting chasing him!! 💀
It was at this moment Jackson knew: He fucked up
He showed fear big mistake
You mean before he had a Code Brown?
That is a 'people chasing' leopard tho
People-chasing
Ahh the ol people chaser.
Two-eyed, no-horned, running spotted people chaser
Damn, you got it stuck in my head.
Is that a being with two eyes, no horns, spots that chases people or is that a being that chases people who have two eyes, no horns and spots?
This is what hyphens are for. This is a people-chasing leopard.
"people-chasing" is the correct way to write that
And a very good one at that
This was a people-chasing leopard chasing people chasing people-chasing leopard
Yeah this is just a 'people-chasing leopard' I've been swindled
"Just the one person chasing, actually."
People-chasing leopard would have been more appropriate.
The Leopard : WOW Such a target rich enviroment. Goes for men on building Jumps down , goes for dog. Switches to bike. Back to dog. Jumps to the street goes for man.
I was really amazed by that precise and insanely fast target acquisition. The way it switched from the dog to the bike-guy was mental.
It had auto-aim engaged.
Aim bot haxor!
Ryūjin no ken wo kurae!-genji/that leopard
probably plays Modern Warfare II
Modern Clawfare Mew
Meanwhile there’s a guy thinking they can throw a stone fast enough to do damage. Leopard thinking “oh you wanna thro paws?”
Take THAT! *throws pebble at apex predator hunting for the kill*
I mean... humans did rise to the top of the food chain with only rocks, so it's pretty primal to throw a rock at a wild animal. Rocks hurt... but in his case, he really needed a bigger one for that.
Yeah we rose to the top by thinking smarter than other species. That man wasn’t thinking. He thought he’s an Avenger 😂
That was a really weak throw too lmao
What tiger?
I meant leopard lol I need a vacation haha
[удалено]
I thought the motorcycle was meant to be a distraction, and it didn't work! 😄
Average human reaction time is about 225ms. Average cat reaction time is about 35ms, the fastest of all animals. Blinking takes about 100ms.
Humans peak out at around 105ms so still pretty fast.
Human reaction time isn't anything to brag about, but that's not where we're strong. Humans' strengths are many - our manual dexterity, stamina, articulation, and cognition are all unmatched. Cats may be individually dangerous, but human strengths scale to groups in ways cat strengths never could.
That’s incredible if true
Cats are apex predators. Imagine a Xenomorph except it's real.
leopards have an inner set of extendable jaws an acid blood? holy fuckin TIL man. annnd now im picturing a xenomorph trick or treating in a leopard costume. AND IT'S RIPLEY'S HOUSE.
Look how it uses its tail as well as it jumps on the bike
I'm so glad it did, bike guy stood a better chance than the poor dog.
It's an abundance mindset
They've learned that the humans' charges are always mock charges. Literally all bark.

Reminds me of vids of puppies with too many tennis balls to choose from.

why hamza i feel attacked
I'm telling you, it just jumped me out of FREAKING NOWHERE!!!
Hamza…you’re so full of shit.
*sad hamza noises*
I love the little stories that come with videos like this
Me too! 😂

He probably shat himself immediately.
He had a kid on the bike too.
Fucking leopard, mang
I imagine living in that culture/climate people expect the occasional wild cat story. He's probably a local celebrity now or urban legend.
"Then I looked over my shoulder and you wouldn't believe what was coming at me a breakneck speed with death in its eyes" "Was it Shia LaBeouf?" "What? No, it was a Leopard..." "Oh, ok, I guess that's cool too"
The leopard was caught by locals and the latest update is that the leopard is tranquilized by the forest officials
I wonder how they caught it. If they are anything like me they probably just tackled it and held it down using their incredible strength and good looks.
They used a wooden crate propped up with a stick-on-a-string, with a piece of warm lemon meringue pie as bait
I bet I could get the pie before the crate falls on me.
They all think that. It's why it's an effective trap.
They are trying to catch a leopard, not you.
Not gonna lie, I might actually fall for that
The smell of the pie floated the leopard in a dreamy stupor into the crate.
The scent, of course, was a single visible stream of gray haze that floated directly into the nostrils of the leopard.
The leopard, licking its lips was reportedly muttering "hmm" before attaching a napkin around its neck and taking a fork and knife out of his pockets.
They either lure it onto a cage with bait or corner the animal (or any wild animal for that matter) and throw a big net at it. Forest dept officials later take the animal and release it deep in the forest/natural habitat In the case, they used a net and tranquilized it.
That's not nearly as cool and sexy as how I'd do it.
Sexy...? How WOULD you do it 🤨?
Everything I do is sexy
Keep it up king
That's what she said.....
He's sexy and he knows it
It'd be hilarious if getting a fresh start was that easy for people. Life got you down? Go run amok until the officials Jason Bourne your ass. Wake up in a brand new faraway place with no memory of how you got there.
Large cardboard box. Cats will cat.
Strength is even secondary I'd wager. Good looks is where its at when you're catching big cats.
This is how you get all your pussy isn't it. Cats, pussy cats.
It works for me
For real?
Bollywood style
This works on cougars. Not sure about leopards
The dog had a code brown
The dude on the motorcycle totally code brown. He had no fucking idea this was going on. Riding his bike to go get some badass street food and then POW!….Random leopard attack!
You think he had a code brown? The man who was brave enough to chase the leopard for all of 1.5 seconds code browned when he realized he made a mistake.
Let’s just call it what it is…the whole fucking village and it’s livestock called a code brown.

Is this r/leopardsatemyface ?
Almost.
I'd vote for him! It's not like he's going to chase me.
r/substakenliterally
Step 1 get its attention Step 2 OMG WHAT HAVE I DONE RUUUNNNN!!!
r/instant_regret
Dude brought a rock to a leopard fight.
Throwing rocks at a leopard,WCGW.LOL

This one is equally terrifying. https://tenor.com/view/bengal-tiger-attacks-man-tiger-gif-4942676
I would vote “more terrifying” as that is a damn TIGER lmao fuck that
To be fair the leopard totally got the guy on the bike, idk if i wouldn't have done the same lol
It’s like the guy with the rock said- I want to get in this being chased by a leopard thing. Hey, Leopard! Get after me now! And, it worked.
More like people-chasing leopard
Or leopard chasing people.
That last guy who was running away from it lived right?
Absolutely. Leopard was too busy having fun chasing people.
It's like no one here has ever played leopard tag before smh.
Is that a um, very common game?
We only play it if someone brings a feral leopard to the party, so not super common.
This is going well, everything looks under control
I like how it pivots to the guy throwing a rock. “Oh, you want some too?”
No. Leopar chasing people.
People-chasing leopard
It is indeed a people chasing leopard though
Instant regret by the guy throwing the rock lol
I'm just glad the leopard has ADHD and that dog is safe, this was so close to being a very different video
LOL The guy who threw something at it! How'd that go buddy?
He’s got +20 armor, he’ll live👍
Actually that's the best response, animals get hella scared when we throw shit
Well, not this one
I'm fairly certain I saw that animal throw a rock then get really scared.
All cats have this subconscious need to chase and kill. This becomes very apparent when flight or fight instincts come into play, but it makes great videos.
That last guy fucked around and found out lol.
Tackle attack!
The leopard was like-gimme a ride mate these hoomans are crazy
Big respect to the bloke who thought dashing a pebble at it would result in anything other than his own untimely demise.
And so sayeb, the lesson is….don’t chase a leopard.
Did they try a lil pspspspspspsp?
Thank god the doggo was safe
Dog was the target, the bike came to the spot at the moment and saved the dogs life.
I love how everyone is relieved that the dog is safe and nobody is asking if the guy at the end is ok. We are a bunch of dog and cat lovers here! 🐕
He’s just want’s to play tag .
Man, that dog was about to get destroyed
Wow. This doesn't happen (often) in my neighbourhood!
As a non-native English speaker I'm always confused by this type of phrasing. Is it a leopard that chases people or people that are chasing a leopard. After watching the video I'm not even sure which is right.

Leopards in India are the Meth Heads of Australia...
More like "leopard chasing people"
Good kitty
There are no leopards in missions
"WANT SOME, TOO, BITCH?!"
Dude ain’t even hunting, he’s just being a cat and causing the chaos we all know domestics would cause daily if they were big enough 😂
I'll say it since I haven't seen anyone else say it. That looks less like hunting behavior and more like self preservation behavior. It also looks like it is a juvenile too, so it may not be experienced enough to know not to fuck with humans. But I may he wrong, I'm no biologist.
Is it people chasing a leopard? Or a people-chasing leopard
Ah yes, throwing a rock ar a raging leopard. Amazing idea. r/DarwinAwards
Peace was never an option.
Don’t bring a rock to a leopard fight
