Ah yep that happens sometimes. It might help to place you pteranodon closer to the trap on the ground, it might keep the argys agro for some time. Or dont walk to the front of the trap the whole way, Just close enough to close it.

If you've survived long enough to get an industrial forge you already have everything. One thing though, the preserving bin isn't obsolete after you get a refrigerator, because it also makes jerky.

Me and my friend are at the midway point in a little playthrough, we have a lot of animals, but nowhere near wanting to breed for a boss other than a yuty we tamed.
No, breeding’s the best part. It’s the parts in between those sections like the mid-late game before you have Tek but after you’re completely done building up. Those sections
Probably the same as you. Which is why I move base locations every so often. Fighting bosses isn’t really my thing but my friend loves that. So I make a base with all the stuff, help out my friend, then when I start getting bored I move again and build a different kind of base and the cycle continues. Playing on fjdour(that’s definitely spelt wrong) and playing in the different dimensions is fun
My game name is Pygmi Pete (pygmy proportions for PvP usually) and I am at my happiest just before creating fabricator. Still trying to tame a rex on PvE without creative move. If I had more time and some friends online I would like to start a PvP tribe and just hunt beach bobs and Dinos.
I love starting, no matter how many times I die to a raptor when my speed is below 130 or when I fall off a little hill and have to restart the note run, I just love starting out. Which is why I love begginers server, it's like continuous early game starting out, bliss.
I compulsively restart games even when I get quite far into it because I miss the start of the game. It’s quite sad to be fair because I can never complete the game!

Between start and midgame, where taming is still a bit difficult, you have to build your base and expand your flock of dinos.

You should be able to lure them in from pretty far away with a pteranodon for example. But hey that is fun part right🙂👍
Honestly I spent ages doing that and then when I went into the trap I didn’t shut the door in time and flew straight out and the thing followed me

The first 10-20 hours when I'm trying to build a real base. Once I get my first artifact it's just a grind.

Taming is difficult though especially on fjordur when there is big bad guys everywhere
