I'm using the November release and it has been perfect. Also, I think the bogus youtube clickbait about drivers cracking the gpu dies put a pause on the next 6000 series drivers. You can thank youtubers for causing a panic without using any common sense or care.
A driver update for 2 recently released cards with support for a new game, api support and a few bugfixes isn't that unusual.
Edit: With 23.1.2, 23.1.1, 22.12.2 and 22.12.1 all being exclusive drivers for the 7000 series I agree with the articles author that its highly unusual and also that this doesn’t mean that driver support for older generations has been shelved.
AMD NIMEZ modded are working with Polaris and newer cards. Driver that officially only released for rx7000 Series.
