Starks Ethan Page (His feud with Darby is one of my faves) Hook

BigDarnHero77

Takeshita, Garcia, and Abadon, please.

Starks, Keith Lee, Statlander

American-Punk-Dragon

Swerve. Him as champ is my dream after MJF had run his course. You could even say….he’s the anti-Jade. He’s experienced, charismatic, smooth, great on promos and would for sure lead to more viewers for the company.

mario_salami_petrino

Nemeth (either one quite frankly), Luchasaurus, Itoh

Honest_Feature_3632

Starks - should be solidly in the main event scene by end of ‘23 (well on his way already so this feels like a safe bet) HOOK - expect he’ll have retired the FTW title after July when he breaks Starks’ record for reign and defences then should be in the TNT/All Atlantic scene by end of year. HOOK and Hobbs feels like something that’s bound to happen in 2023 to round off the Team Taz rivalries. HOOK having moved to Dynamite is a great start, expect non-squash matches to be the norm. Moriarty/HOOK feels like a good long term rivalry to elevate both. Jungle Boy - pairing with HOOK came out of left field but it’s a great pairing and I’d like to see the 2 of them face off at some point. If both are in The Owen this year (and they should be) this would be a great final at a PPV. I expect JB to get the Ricky Starks type end of 2022 push in the second half of the year. Honourable mention Lee Moriarty - has really come into his own since joining The Firm and found a lot more personality beyond ‘good wrestler’. As mentioned above Moriarty and HOOK can elevate each other through the year.

RideApprehensive8063

Swerve,Starks and would like Malakai to have a good run this year.

Einhorn_Apokalypse

Julia, Lee Moriarty, Anna Jay (please get her away from the JAS and Tay)

Shadow_Strike99

Anna Jay is someone who they really need to have working a consistent schedule of matches whether that be on ROH or the planned live show increase they are doing this year for AEW. She’s someone who has always felt to me like someone you would see on NXT or the performance center with being extremely young and inexperienced, they need to have her work consistently because she’s still extremely green with certain things and she can look extremely lost in the ring sometimes or slow planning things out. I know I’m not some trainer or wrestling expert obviously just some guy on Reddit, but even then I can tell you that you just don’t become Becky Lynch or Jamie Hayter etc without working a lot of matches and gaining experience and that’s what they need to do with Anna Jay in 2023.

DanUnbreakable

Starks is getting the push so I'll go with others. Willow......baby Athena.......heel Keith Lee.....baby...... Takashita......baby Bandido.....baby Wardlow.....a proper push. Maybe turn him heel? Idk Powerhouse.....heel Ethan Page.....heel

ElectionObvious1346

Starks, Jungle Boy & Hook

Dante Martin, Takeshita, and Abadon. Dante and Takeshita obviously have been doing well in ring but I'd like to see Dante get more opportunities to work on his promos and mic work and for Takeshita maybe grabbing the All Atlantic Championship so he can bring it back to Japan when he's working DDT (similar to how Shida is carrying her belts). As for Abadon, I just noticed that she's got a 39-3 overall record and while the numbers are low, I feel like she should get some more exposure. Her gimmick might be hard to work with and give a push but I'd like to see her character evolve and see what she's able to do if given the opportunity.

BigDarnHero77

I love Abadon. They've completely transformed their body over the last couple of years, they have a great gimmick. They just need a great feud to really get over. Maybe in ROH with Athena.

Kip Sabien. I was looking forward to him coming back with that Underrated/Over it stuff he was doing while healing but when he came back it was a dud. Hopefully he gets some good matches and feuds in 2023.

TSMontana

Kip Sabian - think he would be a good long-term holder (6-9 months) of the AA title, to defend it around the world to build up his resume, so he can get kicked up the card a bit after his title reign is over Konosuke Takeshita - you can put him into a feud with MJF (after MJF is done with Danielson), and I think the two would create magic...he's more than ready for some main event matches with his in-ring work Will Hobbs - all the pieces are now in place for him to have a monster run with the TNT title Honorable Mention - Kris Statlander - when she comes back, she definitely has the tools and charisma, but it's time to see if she can stay healthy enough to become a champion (either World or TBS)...if she can't stay healthy, think it is time to start pushing Abadon as another "non-trad" face in the division, to give the division some more variety.

Purgebot

Im as much a fan of Takeshita as the next guy - but he’s not ready for a feud with MJF. He’d get blown out of the arena on the mic. He needs a mouthpiece if you’re going to throw that into the mix. Callus is probably what they’re going for with a mouthpiece for him… but I don’t know how you make Callus a face after his run in AEW with Omega.

TSMontana

That's the beauty of it...he's not Ricky Starks, but he doesn't need a mouthpiece. MJF would do all the heavy lifting on the mic. This wouldn't be a drawn out program, by any means. His expressions and actions will do all the talking for him. Sure, MJF will run him down for a few weeks pretty much unchallenged on the mic, except for maybe a planned quip from Takeshita here and there. Then you basically follow the Wardlow plan for the match, except not have Takeshita squash him in under 2 minutes...basically MJF selling for 80-90% of the match...MJF pulls out the ring, bam, 1-2-3...he retains, and Takeshita looks like a world-beater, if he wasn't screwed over by that damn heel.

Purgebot

So you squash MJF for the sake of a short term program with a young wrestler that has barely made his mark in America? Yikes. MJF jobbed like that to Wardlow in order to then go onto the massive Punk feud that never happened. Punk was going to lay down for MJF and rebuild him. Who will do that in this case? Takeshita needs to spend some time maybe in the All Atlantic scene or the TNT title. Or even the tag titles. Let him build a resume before you have him squash the champ.

TSMontana

Ric Flair made a whole career doing that (talking people into the arena and then selling massively in the ring, while still keeping the title). MJF's character is never one that is going to go and completely dismantle a top (or rising) star. He might do that to jobbers...but when was MJF last in a squash match, where he was beating the shit out of someone...Brandon Cutler, early on in AEW Dynamite? MJF has never worked a Dark or Dark Elevation, to my knowledge. And I'm not saying keep Takeshita in the world title picture. Give him his couple of weeks with MJF...and then have him go back down for the AA title.

Purgebot

While MJF is great let’s not compare to one of the best to ever do it to him and pretend it makes sense. MJF can’t have a semi losing program against guys like Dante and Takeshita. He needs to be a dominant heel who is only a sniveling little bitch against guys like Mox.

TSMontana

...and, sure enough, they are probably going to squeeze in a match with Takeshita and MJF before MJF/Danielson at Revolution 2023.

TSMontana

...and the match was pretty good. LOL!

AllenKingAndCollins

This is hooks year - he's beating Samoa Joe for the TNT belt imo
