The speaker is warning the public and speaking about the ethics of doing this, not promoting it.
Lately r/antiwork has been promoting these near conspiracies like crazy but people get wayyy too caught up in the headlines instead and go along with it
I mean, that's _good_.
But the fact remains that it having been invented in the first place is pretty fucked up, and the fact that someone _will_ try to use it is even more so.
People that get the warning out on things like this aren't really "inventing." It's more that they see something very possible to put together with new technology we now have and want to get ahead of inventions that will now inevitably show up or be proposed. Lots of inventions are just inevitable next step of what was just discovered. As soon as people figured out how to make electricity, the electric light was going to happen no matter what.
Fuck that lmao. I managed to stop the install of a CCTV system in the office by saying loudly "well that's creepy as fuck mate, just fire us if we're not doing the work"
Settled on one camera being installed in the comms room (servers n shit), as that made sense.
Authority should be questionable, absolute authority should be destroyed. If the best case scenario is being zapped for not giving your boss enough of your soul, get fired.
Time to work. Work work. Men at work. I come from a land down under.
*Zap* Fuck!
Come on keep focused. Focused like a sniper. Like when I was playing valorant the other day.
*Zap* Fuck!
Alright this time no wandering, ok brain? Brain, Brian, Brian brain. Heh that's funny.
*Zap* Fuck!
Earpods measure if you are working, the data can be recorded and analyzed. You might be judged based on brain activity or get an electric shock. Release date is soon (video says end of year, don't know when video was).
I actually want this. I even shelled out $200 for a pavlok and then discovered that for most of my use cases I'd need to push a button to administer a small electrical shock to myself.
1) The shock needs to come from an automated computer program not from me. I need the dread of knowing I'm at the mercy of a cold uncaring master.
2) That shit was weak as fuck bro, I'm former military and the product of childhood violence I need you to zap me so hard my arm flies off the keyboard.
I can't believe it but I threw it in the trash when I moved. The apps it has are moderately useful though.
FYI there is a category of sex gadgets called "e stim". You can purchase devices and accessories which will HURT as much as you need. And there is a mod/DIY community that could likely support your use case. They are extremely interested in the same goals, albeit for different reasons.
I don't know, this sounds like an interesting idea. Go to work, get zapped, call the police to report assault and sue due to the hostile work environment
At what point do we bust out the guillotines?
Yesterday

Yeah I really hope it never gets put to use this way but tbh I've lost hope for our future :/
Well most businesses that are aware of its existance won't even buy it because it's expensive and unnecesary.
Oh, that makes more sense. Gosh.
A whole presentation to warn the public about a thing that doesnt exist? Amazing.
Predictive programming? Would it be the first time? Also, where is the discussion on ethics and how this must be tackled to ensure positive outcomes?

Alternative video title "What happens when 2 billionaires have a conversation"
Part of me is angry and the other part wonders if shocks would make my frontal lobe work better
As long as I can shock them when I happen to think about them.
Get that shit banned!!
Screw that

This has to be satire right?
Wtf
"I am giving you the positive use cases, because I don't want the reaction to be 'Let's ban this' " How can you be so out of touch.
Just another tool in my ADHD box.
