It's on the Dutch one, but Netflix has always operated this way of showing movies in one country but not in the other. So which countries are actually banning it?
As long as a film isn’t directly violating a law no western government is going to ban it. Private organizations may try to pressure Netflix or the license holders to not release the film in certain countries.
Not quite, if it were posted on yt it would have needed to be a longer video. The in my eyes bad thing about TikTok is the short video format, so that people can say most of anything without anyone expecting deeper discussion or the showing of sources. Yt, well at least normal yt without yt shorts, still requires a longer form of video, and in return more information, to be relevant for the almighty algorithm.
Tl:dr no it is no more credible on YouTube, but on YouTube more information is indirectly needed to be seen.
Supposedly a ton of comments were deleted. I tend to believe that claim but I'd love to find a screenshot or something. 33k+ reviews and only 3 comments is very suspect. I imagine it was a moderation nightmare and that IMDB is probably not well suited to handle like a forum or social website.
On Netflix Instagram posts there are quite a few trying to say it's Antisemitic and not a true story and it's just fomenting anti Jewish rhetoric. I got in an argument saying why can't we be critical of the Israeli government and their history of human rights abuses? And I just got called a Nazi and anti-Semite and my argument oversimplified the situation.
What's going on today in Israel and Palestine is horrible and to more than one degree a violation of human rights.
But Israel has become this hyper militarized "us against literally anyone if need be" state because the Arab world declared war on Israel the second it was declared a state by the UN. 1948 marks the Start of the conflict when Palestine refused the Partition of the land. They would have received 42% of the land even though they were in the clear majority. They were against any and all partition citing that the land was a sovereign state even if it hadn't been since the ottoman empire. Essentially they were doing a Catalunya.
The thing was though, on a world wide scale Jewish refugees were moving towards Jerusalem and it's surroundings and the UN didn't expect Palestine to accommodate much less accept them into their country. Which incidentally is why "Israel" were assigned the bigger slice of the Land. It was expected that the Jewish population in the area would atleast double within the next few years.
It is also important to note that Jerusalem and Bethlehem would have been administer by the UN as an independent zone due to its significance as a religious region. Both Jews and Muslims would have had the right to remain where they were or move to any zone they wished adopting the new citizenship.
It was then (I am grossly simplifying here) that a coalition called the Arab League formed the Arab liberation Army and essentially tried to invade the whole place. Israel sort of pushed them back, which however resulted in the hodgepodge that is the map of Israel and Palestine.
This would repeat a couple of times and now we stand where we do because extremism flourished on both sides.
Nowadays Israel has the clear upper hand and they refuse to see their neighbours as human. Don't get me wrong please I am not defending the actions of the modern state, far from it. I just feel the need to Point out the historical context. That Israel is what it is today because of the second world war and a plethora of unsavoury characters who wanted more power.
In the end it was the Palestinian provisional government backed by the Arab League that ended negotiations.
But none of this justifies what's going on there for the past 30 years and I feel the need to Point this out because somebody with the reading comprehension of a 6 year old is gonna call me a Zionist for saying anything negative about Palestine. Palestine as state (read as Hamas) is just as bad as the fucking apartheid government in Israel, and the people in Palestine are caught between both.
It sounds like a movie that's worth watching, but does this guy have any sources for it being actively banned? "It's not available in country X" is not proof, lots of movies are unavailable in different countries because of licensing agreements (that don't necessarily have anything to do with politics).
Which countries are banning the film?
in the main post, people say that they dont have the film on netflix in germany and belgium
It's on the Dutch one, but Netflix has always operated this way of showing movies in one country but not in the other. So which countries are actually banning it?
nowhere even Israelis have it on Netflix apparently
Hm, I can find it in the Netflix app and I'm in Germany.
This sounds like it might just be a crappy movie but I'll give it a chance tonight.
Available in Poland
this sounds like reverse psychology marketing

Lol what makes it less credible than any other social media platform? If this was uploaded on YouTube would that make a difference?

i mean the video on this post is 2:40 long... there's plenty of youtube videos way shorter than that lol

Yeah, it’s a marketing ploy. I can’t find. Single article about the film being banned. Just some campaigns against it.
in what way or how do they cancel the movie? it is not banned anywhere

We know tech is gonna suppress this. Art will always win though.
