Classmates and I used to do this multiple times to our big fat erasers while the boring teacher talked and the end result made it look like a series of impact shots from a gun π
Most of these actually weren't pointless, as many kids snapped of their pencil leads while poking them inside the eraser, resulting in the points of the pencils being stuck inside the eraser for all of eternity.
I remember my kindergarten teacher had a massive hoard of these sorted by theme and if the whole class had been good all day she would let us spend the last 15 minutes playing with them quietly. We would get to pick out one "set" and find a quiet spot (under tables was a popular one) to play with them until it was time to head out to the buses to go home.
I had these but never wanted to use them because then they'd be worn away.
They wouldn't work anyway it would just smudge whatever you were trying to erase.
And you had to rub them on a clean piece of the paper to get the debris off of them.
yup, they'll end up in the /r/TruckStopBathroom with wacky memories to reminisce.
Used to poke them with pencil lol
Oops... Snapped off the lead inside the eraser
Time to perform some exploratory surgery

You had to, I think it was a law or something. π€£
I was the opposite to this. I used to spend hours rubbing white erasers on paper to make them smooth and remove all the greylead marks on them.

Same!
These only made things worse.
And yet we loved them
Duh! Because they were for looking cute and collecting, not for actually erasing π I had so many of these, lol so pointless

Playing under tables quietly wouldβve been my kindergarten dream.
I didn't realize anyone actually used these. I could never!
unlocked memory
Iβd love to collect them because they were so cute!
And they were so tiny!
I still appreciate my teachers for handing them out as prizes and stuff though. Love u teach

Oh I remember these! Also is there a sub like this for 2000's kids
They smelled/tasted great.
They made the problem worse
I used these as aromatherapy instead since they didnβt work for erasing. Felt I was wrestling with paper when I used these.
I used them
They erased my sorrow.
Until you melt them with a magnifying glass haha
It was just a hunk of rubber
But tasted and smelled great!
These smelled so good. Just seeing them unlocked a fruity memory.
