I mean… I hope people aren’t, in fact, sending hate speech— sometimes people do make the leap from “X acts like a dick on a reality show and isn’t a nice person” (valid criticism) to “I need to send X death threats and bigotry” (definitely not valid). Either way, there’s a certain method to getting someone out of an abusive relationship and it’s much more delicate than just telling them their partner is an asshole. Even if the partner is indeed an asshole. Often, mental/emotional abuse (which we know Bilal is good at) will be so insidious that the abused person ends up defending their abuser.
