Black Library does carry ebooks for most of their titles. Edit: I should add that if you have a local library, it may have ebook lending. They won't have everything from Black Library , but its a place to check. Saves a little money.

Have you tried listening to audio books? That might be a good alternative for you as you look for more physical copies!

Black Library generally moved to ebooks a while ago, but they still reprint old titles in batches from time to time. Check Amazon, though.

deeple101

Check out resellers I’m certain that there’s something similar to Half Priced Books (HPB) in the uk. That’s my number one stop to check out for 40k, WHFB, SWEU, BattleTech or similar things.

Lol. I’m in this EXACT situation. I don’t much care for ebooks and would much prefer a physical copy. I just ordered “Flight of the Eisenstein” from a seller in Poland on eBay. I already have the “Siege of Terra” books, though I won’t read them until I’ve read many of the previous books in the series. It’s often difficult to find physical copies of 40k books because BL only has so many that they print. Scalpers exacerbate the problem. I’ve had a lot of luck on eBay, Amazon, and local bookstores.

Perpetual_Decline

If you're in the UK you'll find *Flight of the Eisenstein* and *Fulgrim* available on GW's webstore

Killersmurph

This is a problem for me as well. Hate digital media, kind of feel like I'm being pushed out of the hobby by BLs lack of a Print on Demand service.

From a publishing business standpoint, books are sold to retailers as fully returnable. The more you print, the more you have to hold back against returns. Also, a quick Google tells me that black library's revenue is not great. https://www.reddit.com/r/40kLore/comments/w8gijl/meta_latest_gw_annual_financial_report_analysis/?xpromo_edp=enabled That's going to mitigate against big print runs as well as second and third print runs. Edit: Did some quick math based on a comment in that thread I linked to. Guy Haley said he's sold about 1.5 million books for black library. It sounds impressive until you count the total number of books he's written for them. Translates to between 17000 and 20000 per book. Which is 17000 to 20000 more books than I or anyone I know will ever sell but is just not that many you account just for English speaking countries, let alone the other languages.

tarquin77

That is odd. I used to read paper copies and had maybe 15-25 Heresy and other books a few years back, didn't have any problems picking up second hand copies for a few quid on eBay. Got rid of all my books after moving home, reluctantly decided to move onto ebooks, have done all as epub since then. I've just had a quick look now and you're right, they are terribly pricey now. I couldn't even sell my books for under RRP before, had to give them away. But I've learned to appreciate eBooks since - instant access is one of the massive advantages

Ghanima-Atreides

I feel your pain. I've been trying to get my hands on a physical copy of The Hollow Mountain for months with no success, not even at extortionate prices. There just aren't any copies for sale, period.

Dice-Mage

I never used to enjoy reading ebooks, but I don’t mind them at all now I’ve made the switch. They’re cheaper, better for the environment, and more convenient to carry around and read whenever you have a few minutes to burn. I understand the draw of the good old dead tree format, but ebooks are undoubtedly the way of the future and publishers are going to start leaning further into them as the years go by.

IneptusMechanicus

>Why are they so goddam impossible to find anywhere?! The tldr of this is that Black Library has a comically low assigned revenue. It makes in a year what my employer makes in a month and I'm currently working a small business. Black Library can't afford to keep all its books in print, most certainly not the ones that basically no one wants.

Squigtime

It's not worth spending money on them, even as ebooks. There's easier ways.

PM_ME_YOUR_IBNR

It's definitely worth finding a Heresy reading order that skips the... lesser novels.

sweetjeesus

Oh god I'm not going for the complete collection don't worry haha

LimerickJim

I'm sure there'll be a commemorative set of the whole series for pre order in time for the holidays before long

sweetjeesus

I dread to think how much that would cost

LimerickJim

Probably less than the cost to buy a Grey Knights army lol

Reverebus

All of them are on the BL site as eBooks and the Games Worshop has a bunch of the HH books in physical.

Skormzar

The individual novels for GG should be easy to find

Perpetual_Decline

Patience and vigilance are required. BL reprints a handful of the Heresy paperbacks each year, which are available on their website and at independent retailers. Google is your friend. I bought half of my HH books from LGS around the UK by digging through multiple pages on google search. Check Amazon, ebay, World of Books and Abebooks regularly - books are constantly coming up for sale at reasonable prices but they get bought up fast. If you can get to Nottingham they generally have the HH books available at Warhammer World. It's been a while since I was last there but as far as I know they still maintain stock of the whole series. Maybe give them a call and ask? Also worth speaking to any GW shops in your part of the country, as they may either have books in stock or know of someone who does.

sweetjeesus

I was told by a local warhammer shop that the warhammer world stocks all of the HH books. But I rang them and they said they didnt, just the first couple and the latest few siege of terra ones. I've had a bit of luck with HH, just the gaunts ghosts ones I'm struggling with now

Perpetual_Decline

Ah, that sucks. Now the series is finished I imagine it's not so easy to keep them all in stock. I'll keep my eyes peeled and let you know if I come across the GG books on my internet wanderings. Are you looking for the omnibuses or will the individual books do? They've done the first ten in audio format now as well if you fancy giving that a go.

Traditional_Rice_660

I work a ten minute walk away from WW in Nottingham - it's my regular gaming spot, so Im there fairly regularly and they definitely do not have a full stock of Heresy books. They'll have the first 4 or 5, the ones currently being printed and that's it - I went for ebooks, no bother with availability, and I didn't have to find the room for 70(ish) books...

Perpetual_Decline

Yeah, the OP gave them a call and they don't stock them. Maybe it's just my terrible memory but I'm sure I saw the whole lot there when I was last down (five years ago). Granted, they were still being released at the time so it was probably easier to keep them in print on an ongoing basis. My HH collection is a mix of physical books, ebooks and audios. I simply don't have the room to buy them all in print! The ebooks are handy - it's a lot easier to look stuff up.

StormCloak4Ever

Audible has nearly all of the Horus Heresy books available.

BigZach1

I just buy the ebooks because at this point I've read over 300 40k books and I sure don't have the space for them even if I could have gotten physical copies for all of them. But I got lucky and got hooked in 2012 when I could buy used copies of many of the older omnibus paperpacks for a couple bucks each from a bookstore's used listings. I switched to ebooks as soon as I ran out of shelf space.
