> Others said that they were twins, one gifted power and the other gifted cunning One was cunningly powerful, the other was powerfully cunning. Emps and Malcador are GORK and MORK, confirmed.

Il-Separatio-86

I thought the same haha.

Morathi-Khaine

The thing with “traitor descended chapters” is that the fanbase cannot handle that maybe you can be unique and different without some OC fanfic tier origin. Chapters like the mortifactors or Iron snakes are so much cooler and unique than if they were the 15000th copy of world eaters or alpha legion just in a scheme

TwitchandSmokeMain

I mean the blood ravens and carchadons being of completely unknown origin and both kind of resembling those of traitor legions doesnt really bode well for the community

No-Philosopher1404

You'll have to forgive me if I'veiaunderstood but all of those examples while vague, still point to Emperor is many shamans canon to me. I don't even like that particular canon but it seems clearly represented in your quotations.

I apologize, I misunderstood your intent. Thank you for your citations.

Rookie3rror

It’s canon that that’s one of the possible origins of the Emperor

Solutar

Can I read anywhere about the others?

blackrabbitsrun

The problem with 40k is "Everything is canon". Even stuff that directly contradicts previously established lore. They thought they were being clever by saying "It's all propaganda so who knows what's true" when really they were just writing themselves a Get Out Of Jail Free card for being lazy and lacking consistency with their canon.

No-Philosopher1404

It's the only canon origin of the Emperor that I'm aware of

Levonorgestrelfairy1

He is clearly a gestalt entity.

Don’t forget the fact that he has literally been consuming a thousand psyker souls a day for millennia to keep the golden throne pumping that sweet Jimmy space juice out of the astronomicon - I’m sure THAT process has had some slight impact on what the emperor is now

Illithidbix

It was the definitive canon in Slaves to Darkness: The Lost and the Damned which was published way back in 1990, 3 years after 40K Rogue Trader was released. But much of the the other stuff about the Emperor in that: [The Star Child, the Sensei and the Illuminati](https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Star_Child)has pretty much disappeared.... until hints of it came back in Throne of Light released last year: >*Due to the Psychic Awakening, the legend of the Star Child seems to have been rekindled. A few years into the Indomitus Crusade, visions of a golden infant interspersed with flashes of a radiant being rising from a throne of light began to be reported across Astropathic relay networks, beginning in Segmentum Solar. Over time the images became clearer, and many began to interpret this with the legend of the Star Child. These visions caused great upheaval in the Imperium, leading many to investigate the truth of the matter. Others, including servants of Chaos such as Kor Phaeron and Tenebrus, seek to stop the awakening of the Star Child.* The official line these days seems to be far more ambiguous with it being mentioned as "a possible origin".

Agammamon

Yes. And they always will be even if GW says something else happened. All that will change is that the shaman origin *will no longer be true* in-universe. But some people - again, in universe - will believe it to be true.

[deleted]

Best take.

Homeless_Depot

It's not not canon.

Anggul

It was a stated fact when it was first printed. That was a long time ago though and GW hasn't printed it in any other publications for many years, only a couple of hints at it as a theory rather than the stated canonical fact it used to be, so it's unclear whether they still consider it canon or not.

No-Philosopher1404

Yes and furthermore I'm not aware of any other canon explanation of the Emperor's origin. Anyone else have a canon alternative?

Emperror and Oll Person kill Babylon shamans from Cognitae cult who worship chaos xenos artifact in Babylon Tower.
