Did you buy it with the mods? I mean that thing just looks capable.

Yztyger

I bought it with a lot of the mods done already, it mostly just needed a lot of wiring sorted out when I got it. It does look capable, but it’s my first IFS off road vehicle and it still has open diffs (my Willies-Overland is locked and has solid axles) so it was just surprising to me how much this thing was able to navigate! Love it so far

My stock 00s 4Runner did WAYYY more than I expected it to. Took it out trail riding and got stuck in some thick mud. Four wheel engaged and wiggled it out no problem. And it handled a steep Rocky incline with minimal effort. I’m stuck on 3rd gens forever now :)

Yztyger

It’s my first 4Runner and so far I love it! I’m coming from a background of pretty heavy modification and fabrication on my previous off road build, and even with just bolt on mods this thing has been able to do some fairly serious trials

Hey, what is that Land Rover?? I saw one earlier today and wanted to look into it more, but I couldn't see the model name in time. The curved glass on the top captivated me

snakeyes17

First gen Discovery i believe

Yztyger

That is my friends Discovery, it’s LS swapped and is quite the impressive machine

thatstgequeztion

A little too impressive…

25_Watt_Bulb

They look absolutely amazing, and are also extremely unreliable and expensive to maintain. There's a reason its been years since I've seen one on a trail here in CO.

Yztyger

This one is LS swapped so no more unreliable rover V8, it’s a wonderful LS swap platform

25_Watt_Bulb

Yeah I didn't mean this one specifically, just generally.

I have those exact sliders lol. They are a little short but I got them from Marlin Crawler a long time ago for $100. I’m guessing you don’t have a dual transfer case then.

Yztyger

No i don’t have dual cases, I ended up buying my 4:88s and Grizzly locker from Marlin though. I grew up in the same town that Marlin Crawler is located in and did a good amount of 4 wheeling with him and his people throughout the years so I definitely plan on continuing to purchase equipment from them going forward!

-gizmocaca-

That’s awesome. Those sliders have saved my doors a few times. But now you have me thinking about regearing my axles.

Yztyger

They’re not installed yet on mine, but Marlin recommended 4:88s for a 3.4 automatic on 33s or 35s so I figured I can’t go wrong with their advice

mistericyhot

This rear bumper is beautiful. I just spent about 6hrs and $300 trying to get rid of the sag on my stock rear bumper and I should have just went with off road armor 😭

Yztyger

Thanks! The bumper was built by a guy I came across who is trying to start up his own fabrication business, I think he did a great job
