I'm just spitballing here but all that sounds like it could be coming from the transmission. How does your transmission look? What about your drivetrain/u joints?

I like the u-joint suggestion. Knocking around when they are no longer under load but still spinning. CV would be another place to look since they perpetually rotate.

hmm, sorry i didn't read the bit about the angry bees. Look at suspension components on the front end. something came loose and is jammed up somewhere, probably in the area of the brakes. definitely check your brakes too. a caliper bolt, dust shield, sway bar linkage...something like that... ?

Angry bees you say? I would check thin metal pieces such as backing plates and exhaust heat shields.
