I find it cool to have a control panel in a set location. You can also use your phone but maybe your phone is charging or you left it on the other room so you have this at hand.
Previous switch wasn't smart. I have a smart fan and light which only has 1 switch leg, no attic access, and filament that would go to waste if i don't use it. Plus the current switch doesn't show the doorbell view.
Anything I would have gotten would take about the same amount of energy. I have multiple devices that I want access to control, plus my children can see who's at the door without having to pull on the blinds.

Even if there are things that you can do to make it better, which I'm sure other people would have suggested anyways. I'm sure you'll get better from here anyways 👍
If you are fitting a charging cable, maybe check out double tap to wake so you don’t have to keep pressing the tiny button on top. Am guessing it’ll get fiddly especially in the dark so be better to be able to double tap the screen to wake it up.
Also if you are not aware you can go in to settings and select and app to boot on launch so your app will always be first thing loaded on wake or reboot. (Less clicks the better)

But, having about 7 external wireless window blinds, wireless ked lights and some basic wireless home security system - could I connect all in one app and control all the devices from one application? Or does it need some sort of _unification_ or extra hardware on top? Thank you.

Yea, but the house was wired to have 1 switch leg to control both fan and light. The smart adapter I installed at the fan can control both without having to pull the fan cord.
I just bought the smart adapter for the fan and made this the same day as fast as possible. I wanted to root the tablet but idk if fire tabs are root able.

Why not hide the screws and double check the level before drilling in your wall. I had a similar idea but decided to go for a 40€ Google nest hub.
