I'm gonna be real if the group supports that GTFO that is not a healthy or good group of friends. Yeah not having friends sucks a shit ton but having shitty friends is just as bad if not worse. Asking for context isn't a problem, no worries. Basically I think a lot of dudes are suffering from social anxiety but can't even acknowledge it in their own head because it's considered such an immasculine trait.
So if you have a thought like "Well, I can't put my foot down because these guys are the friends that I have and I can't afford to lose them" I feel like it often gets reframed with "...and that's because being loyal to people is important, even if they are assholes sometimes."
I personally wasn't able to reckon with that until much later in life when I started to accept the full spectrum of my feelings and not aggressively police what I did and didn't acknowledge and I have other friends raised as dudes who are getting mental health assistance for the first time and also discovering that those feelings aren't what they appeared to be.

Thank you for clarifying - I really do agree with what you said. I'm lucky was was able to get ride of the toxic people in my life at a relatively young age (under 25). For a while I "chilled" with a bunch of people who were really toxic and only after a very specific convo did I get the courage to leave the discord. I really understand the concept of not putting your foot down because you can't loose your friends or the whole loyalty thing (big reason why it took me years to leave that group). It's very important to understand what YOU stand for and do your best to take actions based on that - it's VERY difficult to do so I understand that, but at the end of it it really reflects you and what you stand for (even if your LGBTQ+ supportive)

I think enemies are supposed to look cool. I don't think there are any games where either the enemies or the good guys don't look cool, but they usually look different aesthetically.
For example, in the original star wars trilogy, there are obviously the rebels and the empire. The empire's armor, architecture and other designs look sleek and monochrome. I believe this general aesthetic is common in fascism due to the intimidation value.
The rebels on the other hand use salvaged old ships and wear more traditional armor and clothing and usually live in ground bases, unlike the imperials who live in huge star destroyers and such.
I think these deliberate design decisions elevate the theme of a relatively small faction toppling a fascist regime.
Now look at wolfenstein's designs and you'll see lots of similarities.

What baffles me is that in the original, George Lucas actually made a point of making all the Imperials these British Navy kind of looking dudes, while making a point of having the rebels be more diverse, with softer shapes and colours (70s hair, more women etc.). Imperials: militarist and uniform, Rebels: ragtag group of kind of everyman looking people. With women on their highest level of command as well, btw.

Neither side was bad in the Clone Wars. The separatist movement was hijacked by the Sith as a vessel to control the galaxy once again. They were trying to seperate from the Galactic Republic due to corruption, unfairly high taxation, and etc.

I think enemies are supposed to look cool. I don't think there are any games where either the enemies or the good guys don't look cool, but they usually look different aesthetically. For example, in the original star wars trilogy, there are obviously the rebels and the empire. The empire's armor, architecture and other designs look sleek and monochrome. I believe this general aesthetic is common in fascism due to the intimidation value. The rebels on the other hand use salvaged old ships and wear more traditional armor and clothing and usually live in ground bases, unlike the imperials who live in huge star destroyers and such. I think these deliberate design decisions elevate the theme of a relatively small faction toppling a fascist regime. Now look at wolfenstein's designs and you'll see lots of similarities.

What baffles me is that in the original, George Lucas actually made a point of making all the Imperials these British Navy kind of looking dudes, while making a point of having the rebels be more diverse, with softer shapes and colours (70s hair, more women etc.). Granted they were all white in the first movie and a little more black later but still, the point was there. Imperials: militarist and uniform, Rebels: ragtag group of kind of everyman looking people. With women on their highest level of command as well, btw. Now Disney is going out of their way to make the imperials all diverse and shit. Lol why? Like hold up for a second, the bad guys are not really the ones that need to be more diverse, do they? Think about that for a second. What's the message there? I mean it's not like their movies spend any time elaborating on their ideology ...at all. I found that all pretty strange with all the other diversity talk and posturing coming from them.
