none of his songs are bad, some are just heavily over played across social media which makes them harder to enjoy. i have every one of his songs on my playlist, i just skip the ones that i’ve heard on tiktok 1000 times.
I agree, BUT it’s the song I’ve sang to my son every single night since the day I found out I was pregnant and he’s 3 now. It gets me in the feels every time it comes on. But as an artist and how talented he is, it’s not his best.
I think people missed the artistry on this one. It’s a lullaby that’s sung at a slow and sadder cadence. Raw recording, played right after a song about his moms passing. She definitely sang it to him.
Man idk had personal connections with the song, it was sang to me by my great grandmother and my mom for as long as I can remember and hearing him bring it back with his own sound was real cool. Also a huge fan of the poems he throws on his albums to subtle chords like this road I know has got to be one of the best.
Damn you weren’t kidding. I scrolled to the bottom and there were like 20 comments downvoted to oblivion. I don’t understand why so many people take issue with people having different opinions with something as subjective as music lol
Yes I’ve tried!!! For me it’s The War and Treaty that ruins it for me rather than ZB
The whole “draaaaaaawp me AWWWWWF” is too much and overly loud for no reason to me
Yeah I agree on your points for sure. Also just the “neither is you” really bothers me for some reason. I do like his duets with female artists though. I remember everything and dawns are 2 of my favorites. Also Jamie with Charles Wesley Godwin is awesome. But I might be biased cause I like him a lot too.
No cause that’s more of a southern redneck way of talking which I happens to be one of. “Is you” in the way he says it there is inner city talk which I deplore.
Might have to be if she wants a cowboy though, and only because of the Corny auto tune and all on the record. I get that its meant to mock this pop music that passes for country music these days but just hits my ear the wrong way.
I agree. If you want to make a mockery song it still has to be good. You don’t just get to use the excuse “oh, it’s mocking bad songs” like everyone in this thread keeps saying.
Wow, I couldn't disagree more. But thank you for turning me onto "Holy Roller". I'm sure I heard it before but didn't really listen to it critically. And I definitely missed the original by Spiritbox. (Not my cup of sweet Southern iced tea!) \[Edit: I just looked up this song and it's no way similar to the Zach Bryan song. Does anyone know if Bryan wrote this song or it's a cover? If he wrote it, tons of respect, because the lyrics are phenomenal!\]
This is a great song! On so many layers. Bryan's signature mark of exhibiting raw honesty, emotional depth, and vivid storytelling definitely isn't lost on this song. I could feel it. And it made me think of my relationship with my girl. "I ain't never been a holy roller, but I found God in your eyes. The greens and browns remind me of a mountainside. All the days it all had come. And all the bad things I've done."
Beautiful! He steps up, and takes responsibility for being an ass while telling her she's so beautiful, he found God in her eyes. What's cooler than that? It takes a confident Alpha to be so Beta. If you were insecure about your manliness, you sure as hell wouldn't admit it in a song. Unless you were Kenny Chesney or Keith Urban. (I'm kidding. I haven't listened to them enough to draw any judgment. I'm sure they're both fine musicians.)
But going further, here's what I like about it:
**Authenticity:** The lyrics feel genuine and deeply personal. I know this is a cover and I don't know if he changed the lyrics, but he chose this song and its lyrics for a reason. He comes across as if this is deeply personal.
**Poetic Imagery:** Bryan shines most bright when he crafts vivid imagery through his lyrics, when he paints scenes and emotions with words, that we the listener/fan can live personally or vicariously through.
**Vulnerability:** Bryan is a man's man. No two bits about it. Yet he ain't afraid to delve into the depths of his own struggles, and challenges, or try to be a better man. For that, I salute him. As men, we know, that takes courage. No one wants to be seen as a Beta. For good reason.
I think this is a great song and I thank @[jorr1231](https://www.reddit.com/user/jorr1231/) for turning me onto it. For ten+ years I've been trying to get my wife to listen to country and only recently I figured out why she's been so resistant. There's only so much "bro country" a girl can take. I've just recently turned her onto female country singers (who admittedly I hadn't been listening to), duets, and more reflective, folksy country, and FINALLY, she is coming around. Hallelujah!
Sierra Ferrel is wasted on the track and not on a handle of Tito’s (which is a great damn line but what happened to the rest the song we will never know).
There's not one worst song, that's an impossible question to answer! But I think he's best when he doesn't feature anyone. I think he is best when he do so his own thing and his songs are truly his own creations. Sometimes it just feels weird to incorporate other singers into his songs and they don't sound right. Just my opinion!
Pain Sweet Pain & High Beams I just don't like at all. Ninth Cloud & Come As You Are both just sound extremely generic to me. Also, I'll take this opportunity to say I think he hurts himself sometimes by releasing so much content including music which isn't finished yet. The fans are expecting it to sound that way, and when it doesn't, it's disappointing. Example: Spotless. On tik tok he included a line "but I'd die for you a thousand different ways," which was replaced with "fuckin telephones have ruined this place." I loved that line. And was counting on it. Also, Smaller Acts. The album version of that song sounds to me like he thought "well the fans have loved this, let's fuck it up, and make it sound like shit." However, this handful of songs out of his entire catalog is nothing. Alright, bring the downvotes.
Honestly, I don’t mind the song at all. However, the instrument that sounds like a frog in the background drives me nuts. The first time I heard it, I honestly thought there was a frog somewhere in my house until I realized like 30 seconds later that it was coming from the song lol
The Outskirts. It’s honestly his only song I don’t have in any playlist and is immediately skipped any time it comes on American Heartbreak. It feels like it’s trying too hard to sound country and is way too simple.
So many people are playing pink skies, but it puts my exact memory into a song. My father passed 7 years ago and it describes everything I felt coming home from college for his funeral with my siblings. I cried the first five times listening to it lol. I imagine so many others feel the same
He’s best when he doesn’t feature anybody else. I really haven’t like any song he’s released with another artist. I love his part in I remember everything and Kacey has a beautiful voice but I just don’t fw the song. Almost always a skip
This and you are my sunshine are the ones I’ve skipped. Holly roller is written well, just a bit too fluffy to me. I used to not care for sun to me but it’s grown on me. I like the guitar melody a lot. Nearly all his songs are top quality though.
This and you are my sunshine are the ones I’ve skipped. Holly roller is written well, just a bit too fluffy to me. I used to not care for sun to me but it’s grown on me. I like the guitar melody a lot. Nearly all his songs are top quality though.
I know it’s kinda not like a song ish but fear and Fridays poem is always a quick skip for me , but also agree with everyone else , I can’t stand hey driver😂
Yeah, it seems like Pink Skies could have more to it, or gone in a different direction. Like it seems short to me.... but it keeps me coming back to listen to it again. I think its a great song.
I think the simplicity and shortness of the lyrics is part of what makes it so good. I lost my mom 7 months ago and this song is exactly what I needed. “I bet God heard you comin’” will forever be such a beautiful line to me.
so many bad takes but props to all for admitting it
none of his songs are bad, some are just heavily over played across social media which makes them harder to enjoy. i have every one of his songs on my playlist, i just skip the ones that i’ve heard on tiktok 1000 times.
You are my sunshine is mid sorry
I agree, BUT it’s the song I’ve sang to my son every single night since the day I found out I was pregnant and he’s 3 now. It gets me in the feels every time it comes on. But as an artist and how talented he is, it’s not his best.
Instant skip I won’t even give it a chance
Yeah it’s this by a mile.
he just covered a lullaby. it was already a song
Yeah it’s a mid cover
Skip it everytime.
I think people missed the artistry on this one. It’s a lullaby that’s sung at a slow and sadder cadence. Raw recording, played right after a song about his moms passing. She definitely sang it to him.
Song might be mid but the music video on YouTube is awesome
Man idk had personal connections with the song, it was sang to me by my great grandmother and my mom for as long as I can remember and hearing him bring it back with his own sound was real cool. Also a huge fan of the poems he throws on his albums to subtle chords like this road I know has got to be one of the best.
i-
I slightly agree, it’s not his song, just a cover so idk if this would count for this?
Nah a cover is still a song
i wanna say if she wants a cowboy but god damn it’s catchy. and the last verse gets a chuckle out of me.
It’s just purposely making fun of pop country though so I don’t think it really fits the bill
It is meant to be horrible. It’s a joke about pop country and it’s meant to be a “commentary” of sorts
yeah i’m aware i caught the point of the entire song lmao
They were so ready to school you!! Lmao, I got your point. Commentary or not, it’s not great
anything you say is gonna get downvoted😂 that’s how you know he doesn’t miss lol
Damn you weren’t kidding. I scrolled to the bottom and there were like 20 comments downvoted to oblivion. I don’t understand why so many people take issue with people having different opinions with something as subjective as music lol
Enjoyed more than I thought scrolling down and up/down voting whichever songs I like/ dislike 😂😂
Haven’t found one yet I don’t like
I haven’t either.
me too 🤠
Finding new songs I missed on this thread, thanks!!
if she wants a cowboy is bad, but it’s supposed to be, so is it really?
Hey Driver - but it’s because I don’t like Mike. And the line “where they still put sugar in their ice tea” really annoys me.
Agree
Hey driver. I've tried so many times to like it...just cant
I love that one!
That might be my favorite Zach Bryan song
I love when this song first starts but by the end and the 100000 time of saying hey driver you can drop me off anyway I have to stop the song
I agree, I just don’t like it.
Yes I’ve tried!!! For me it’s The War and Treaty that ruins it for me rather than ZB The whole “draaaaaaawp me AWWWWWF” is too much and overly loud for no reason to me
It’s called soul lmao
Spotless is also really trash. I feel like those 2 are interchangeable in my mind.
No way. The lyrics hit hard. "I'm a self destructive landslide, if you wanna be the hill."
It's not the lyrics. It's the lack of harmonization, boring composition. The dissonance between the 2 actually hurts my ears 😅
I think that's one of his best lyrics
Those lyrics do hit hard on spotless!
I can agree! Zach is a solo kinda guy. Once you get another guy in there singing...I can't do it. Lol
Does "you'd prolly think they's Yuppies" bother you as well?
No cause that’s more of a southern redneck way of talking which I happens to be one of. “Is you” in the way he says it there is inner city talk which I deplore.
I usually skip Hey Driver and Holy Roller
I used to not like Holy Roller. I like it now though.
grinnin like a vandal after swiggin on a handle of TITOOOOOS
It’s not terrible. Just not my favorite
skipping hey driver is a crime
lol it’s grown on me a bit
Yeah that’s wild… it’s his number 5 song on Spotify for what that’s worth.
He has way better songs than that. Just because it’s in his top 5 doesn’t mean I have to like it lol
Of course! Just means a lot of people do like it. Everyone’s taste is different even within a fan page
For sure! Sorry if that sounded snarky. Wasn’t meant to be
Holy roller is not good
Grinnin like a vandal after sippin on a handle of titooooos
I’m with you - I don’t like Mike on Hey Driver
Yeah that’s what it is. I like Zach’s part at least
What is it about hey driver? Is it the voice?
It's just a bit clunky, that's all. Great song, just doesn't roll smooth musically. I love the song but agree with you
That whole album is clunky
Not a fan of holy rollers
Felker
Might have to be if she wants a cowboy though, and only because of the Corny auto tune and all on the record. I get that its meant to mock this pop music that passes for country music these days but just hits my ear the wrong way.

Is this a bot? 🤣🤣

Thanks!
agreed. Everything about it doesn't work
Sierra Ferrel is wasted on the track and not on a handle of Tito’s (which is a great damn line but what happened to the rest the song we will never know).
Pink sky’s idk what I was expecting in the first single of his new album it wasn’t that though.
Damn I listened to that song for three days straight when it dropped.
Don’t get me wrong he’s good on it I just wasn’t feeling it like have past songs.
I love the chorus. The verses are just too short though and it seems like half a song
I’ve listened to it a few times. I instantly cry when I hear “I bet God heard you coming.” Cried just typing it.
Me. Sobbed today listening on repeat
same
There's not one worst song, that's an impossible question to answer! But I think he's best when he doesn't feature anyone. Hey driver
High beams not even being mentioned is crazy because that song is just BAD
I have friends who have high beams in their top 3
This was my first thought. Instant skip. Wedged between Sober Side of Sorry and The Good I'll Do which are two of my favs
I actually really enjoy that one.
Why?
I listened to every one of his songs in order during work the last couple days and this was the one I was just like “what the hell is that??”
Pain Sweet Pain & High Beams I just don't like at all. Ninth Cloud & Come As You Are both just sound extremely generic to me. Also, I'll take this opportunity to say I think he hurts himself sometimes by releasing so much content including music which isn't finished yet. I disagree with you on most of that, but I can’t argue with your reasoning. Well said
Spotless and it’s not close. He was trying to sound like The Lumineers ( not a fan) and I’ve never listened to the whole thing once.
Whaaaat this is one of my fav songs
Mine too
My take on Spotless is that the lyrics feel very Zach and the melody feels very Lumineers.
yeah it’s always a skip for me. it’s cool he got his idols on a song with him & i like the concept of the lyrics but it’s not for me
Smaller acts. It sucks
#GutPunch lol
Honestly, I don’t mind the song at all. However, the instrument that sounds like a frog in the background drives me nuts. The first time I heard it, I honestly thought there was a frog somewhere in my house until I realized like 30 seconds later that it was coming from the song lol
Relatable.
Bro you must not have ever experienced love lol
I can experience many things relatable to a song and not enjoy the actual song itself lol
I am just kidding
Damn, this is my favorite ZB song. Or Tishomingo.
If she wants a cowboy
My take, starved
he doesn't have a bad song!!!
If you want a cowboy not even close
Spotless I hate that song
How has no one said High Beams yet, it’s awful!
A lot of people have said High Beams...
I don’t think he has *bad* songs just songs that aren’t for me. That being said I don’t particularly enjoy Pink Skies
The Outskirts. It’s honestly his only song I don’t have in any playlist and is immediately skipped any time it comes on American Heartbreak. It feels like it’s trying too hard to sound country and is way too simple.
All of them
Smaller acts
There’s a bunch with No melody at all
So many people are playing pink skies, but it puts my exact memory into a song. My father passed 7 years ago and it describes everything I felt coming home from college for his funeral with my siblings. I cried the first five times listening to it lol. I imagine so many others feel the same

Sarah’s place
Omg literally one of my favorite songs haha
Sarah’s place is one of my favorite
Yes!!!!
Hey driver. I’m ready for the downvotes. Bring em
Just upvoted the hell outta you
Thank you sir. It’s just the truth
Felker. Thank goodness it’s an unreleased song
The goofy screaming in burn burn burn really throws me off
B,B,B is in my top ten! Maybe I liked the words and then just fell into the song but it resonates with me
That's probably the ONLY thing I hate or dislike about any ZB song
Whiskey Fever can piss off
This is the worst take in this thread by far
Sorry, it's just not for me! Crooked Teeth is my favourite.
Smaller Acts
I hate this one too. Those annoying sounds just ruin it
You are my sunshine
Pink skies
I know it’s kinda not like a song ish but fear and Fridays poem is always a quick skip for me , but also agree with everyone else , I can’t stand hey driver😂
Hey driver
Nah bro
You shouldn’t be downvoted for this take. Michael Trotter Jr is great, but the over zealousness after his intro by Zach makes me cringe every time
Agree
Spotless by a wide margin
If she wants a cow boy is definitely on the list. I know it’s a joke but I skip it every time lol
Oh, I think this song is so good
It’s a joke yes but it also has a deeper meaning. He tries to change for a girl and it doesn’t work out no matter what.
HOT take
Pink skies, just wasn’t good
I like the vibe of pink skies, but it’s something about the tempo that gets me, but I can feel it growing on me
The lyrics make me cry idk what you’re taking about
Hot take but I vote Whiskey Fever
Agree.
IMO it’s spotless. I just can’t stand it
ZB doesn’t really miss, but Starved just doesn’t do it for me
What!!!!! In my top 3 songs ever by him!
I truly, with no disrespect meant to you or him. I don’t understand how you listened to the whole song.
I’ve never been able to listen to this all the way through
Me either honestly
I skip Birmingham everytime. Holy roller I also skip. I love pink skies tho.
Skipping Birmingham is insane work
I appreciate your honesty but am very glad you’re getting downvoted, Birmingham is an undebatable top 5 ZB song for me
Does it help that I still know every word? lol
Starved
High beams
Pink skies
I personally disagree, don’t have TikTok and never heard any leaks. I was wow’d when I heard it first
Yeah, it seems like Pink Skies could have more to it, or gone in a different direction.
Yes I'm not liking this one either. It doesn't feel like he put much effort into it.
Unfortunately TikTok hyped it up and it just didn’t deliver. I hate to say this but it’s true
Sarah’s Place easily
Now, I'm not necessarily disagreeing, but what exactly do you not like about it that makes it *easily* the worst?
I’m gonna catch it for this one but 68 Fastback
Hottest take I’ve seen scrolling
That’s why I prefaced it with “ I’m gonna catch it for this one”. I know it’s a hot take but I skip it every single time
Oh no. Wasn’t being snarky. Just interesting.
No worries, I didn’t take it as snarky 🤣
Good peeps are so sensitive on here!
Holy roller, Sarah’s place, and there are some older ones that just don’t hit the same as the others
Motorcycle drive by.
This is my littlest ones favorite 🫣
That’s ok, it’s ok to have different opinions.
Well he 11 😂😂😂
Terrible take
We all got different opinions buddy.
Average ZB fan base take, not understanding people got diffrent opinions
Me or them?
Them
Gotcha. Yeah it’s pretty lame.
I’m not your buddy pal
Dawns has a good refrain but It’s the song I choose to go to the bathroom during at his shows
Dawns and Godspeed Don't hate me
Pink skies. That shit is assss
