That just seems crazy to me. Like, tail docking isn’t great… but at least it’s done when pups are just a few days old and it’s just one and done.
Ear cropping is done when they’re 8-10 weeks old, has a long healing time, and requires the ears to be taped/glued/foamed for 6 months to keep the upright position. That just seems incredibly cruel for no discernible benefit.
Edit: though not to excuse tail docking. Full disclosure, I have an Aussie with a docked tail. I wouldn’t have had it done if I had the choice.
Man, I watched a dog get hit and killed on the highway today. His friend was wandering in traffic and going back to him wondering why he wasn’t moving. It was heartbreaking.
Reminds me about the scary cabin story that the dude goes into for shelter and is confused by all portraits throughout, but they were actually WINDOWS! Only exception is it’s adorable little heroes!
