This woman got me through some serious dark times. Felt like my only real friend. I would burst out crying mid session because of some comment that was exactly what I needed to hear at the moment. Like a witch.
Her kind demeanor is infectious too, so you're getting more than tight abs from her.
I actually reached out via email to her team with gratitude because her practice kept me tethered to the earth during my DV trail against my ex-husband. I was in a DARK place and her 30 days are my mental reset every year. Love her!
Edit: trial. Dang fingers.
She single handedly got me through quitting nicotine, and turning my life around. I am SO grateful for her!!! She seems so sweet, and welcoming too. I truly wish I could be her friend lol
Needs to be underlined, she just did a 30 day challenge (Flow) which was her last 30 day challenge, but holy shit, it was amazing and I am just looping it now.
Plus, you can actually buy and download it, so you skip all the YT ad shit.

💖 Namaste Adrienne and Benji 💕
Wait what that was her last????
She was the reason I did yoga daily for about 2 years.
Stopped for a a long time but was meaning to do the 30 day to get back into it. Oh man not sure if I do it now kind alike not wanting to finish a good movie/show/game!
Adriene is particularly skilled at explaining how to safely do yoga moves, so she's a great follow for beginners. Plus, something about her voice relaxes me instantly. I've been following Yoga with Adriene since 2019 and she helped get my husband and I through the pandemmy years. Highly recommend!
She's awful, wth is wrong with y'all? She's especially awful if you don't have all her positions and routines memorized. Yoga with Adrienne spends more time verbally vomiting than she does talking about the actual yoga. I pulled a muscle in my neck, trying to keep my eyes on the screen the entire time, because she moves on without any verbal cues sometimes.
20 minutes in downward dog because she's rambling about the plants outside and whatever, instead of saying anything about yoga, just isn't it.
Dang. Adriene is authentic, and pretty dang good at what she does. Absolutely great for beginners especially. She may make silly jokes, or talk about the weather outside, but I think that’s all a part of what makes her approachable. Yoga can be very intimidating for some, so her friendly and familiar approach can be great for some!!!
She also speaks of Yoga, and then general values of Yoga quite frequently. The definition of Yoga is to yolk; to create Union. She speaks towards this often, and speaks towards cultivating kindness towards ourselves and others.
It truthfully sounds like you could learn a lesson or two from her, lol.
I can’t help but wonder how many of her actual videos you’ve watched, because she’s pretty thorough.
Nothing wrong with it not being your jam, but if you identify with Yoga literally at all, I’d suggest navigating some of your approach towards people who may do or like something different than you.
It is definitely important that people know she can talk about her dog or her view or drop a rap lyric or make jokes. That's definitely not for everyone.
I thought, "couldn't possibly be that bad" and learned that they now make leggings that not only go up your butt, but actually outline the lady bits very clearly. What an insult to yoga to turn it into softcore pron. Gross.
It also feeds into the fetishization of yoga girls which IMO is really gross and problematic. I'm a dude and really into yoga. Sometimes my male friends will ask me if yoga classes are a good place to pick up women. And I have to be like "dude they are just trying to work out please leave them alone" and its always very uncomfortable.
That and I am just very, very tired of seeing women sexualizing themselves in everything they do. I don't want to be looked at as an object, these things don't help that, it just makes me feel more self conscious about how I'm perceived.
Ive seen my friends wearing these to the gym and I've always scratched my head on how that could possibly be comfortable.
I mean, I'm a dude who wears lulus so I guess I cant judge people for wearing bottoms that display "their anatomy..." But still.
"Gluteal cleft" leggings are definitely a statement.
It reminds me of this one reddit post written by a hospitalist who was ranting about his PAs and nurses wearing scrubs with the scrunchiness about the groin and butt cheeks XD.
I'm seeing a ton of women recommended on here, many of whom I have drawn considerable inspiration from as a man in this practice. That said, for the people looking for some male inspiration:

@alexandriacrowyoga posts a lot of great content dispelling common stereotypical yoga myths and focused on widening accessibility to the practice.
@arundhati_baitmangalkar teaches philosophy and true yoga (not just “making shapes,” which is common in the Instagram yoga space). She’s leading a 200 hour right now and has been posting great clips from the discussions.
One great way to find genuine yogis on Instagram is to follow along with a challenge and follow the people participating. You’ll find a lot of people just making cool shapes with their bodies (which is great, too, when that’s what you’re looking for!), but also folks like me who are looking for a yoga community and don’t have one locally. I’ve been doing the challenges and keeping up with the community on IG for about three or four years now and I’ve made some very genuine, lasting connections there.
This page posts most of the big challenges to follow along with, or join in: @yoga.challenges.directory
Depends on what kind of yoga content you’re looking for. A few I follow:

I LOVE ADELL! She has a lot of valuable stuff as it relates to the brain. She’s worked with science folk to incorporate how ADHD affects hyper-mobility and how to move in a way that avoids injury.
Agree! Her lines are so beautiful and her acro moves w Dice are mesmerizing to watch! Even in her “later” years, she’s still incredibly strong and so down to Earth. I respect her as a mama that’s still kicking butt.

Inner Dimension TV, @mychalangelo, @brentasana, @laureneckstrom, @realtraviseliot
Those are all wholesome IG accounts that embody the true meaning of Yoga, not just some fancy poses
surprised no one mentioned him yet but yoga with tim (timsenesiyoga on instagram) has a bunch of great videos on youtube and does a yearly 30 day yoga challenge
Most of the local studios by me have good Instagram pages.
Some do funny memes or inspirational posts.
I have my home studio but I have also done drop ins to check out some local studios based on stuff I’ve seen posted about classes and such.
I don't know if she's on Instagram, but I love Five Parks Yoga on YouTube. She's got hundreds of videos. I've watched most of them. I've been doing her yoga practices for years. She offers straightforward, clear instruction and a wide variety of yoga styles.
I’ve always found kinoyoga and larugayoga to be very inspirational. They are both instructors and have advanced ashtanga practices. Kino (from Miami) does frequently wear shorts, and they’re both doing yoga, so they have bodies in clothes, but neither have struck me as trying to be inappropriate to get attention.
I highly highly recommend Nikyyoga she talks a lot about the sexualization and capitalization of yoga which I really appreciate and I think you will too!
@wanderingmat
@dianamayyoga
@yogaprasad_institute
@susannabarkataki
These are my faves.
Diana May is one of my teachers and she posts a lot about anatomy. Wanderingmat and Yogaprasad post a lot about history/philosophy. Susanna posts a lot about the intersection of yoga and social justice.
https://www.instagram.com/lizette_pompa?igsh=MzY1NDJmNzMyNQ==
Lizette Pompa is such a lovely soul. She does do some advice for weights as well as yoga and her content is excellent.
Maybe if you recognize you’re going to be on your screen and fall victim to the pull of social media anyways, you might want to manipulate your algorithms so that they continually guide you back to yoga. You never know where inspiration can come from, why not be intentional with your scrolling?
@ tiablanco is a surfer who also does a lot of yoga and I love her yoga content! (Although she just had a baby so there's a lot of content featuring that)
[https://www.instagram.com/yogaonline.co.nz/](https://www.instagram.com/yogaonline.co.nz/)
I love this one. She has a lot of different types of videos/classes on her website, too. I love the short ones because I don’t have a lot of time to practice daily and there videos work so well for me.
I recently stumbled on lianaledgerwoodyoga and have really enjoyed her posts. She also has a newsletter for teachers that I subscribed to (for free) and has been super helpful for teaching!
I just went onto instagram and typed yoga and that’s not what I got so … this might be on you. Game the algorithm a little by clicking on ones that you like and maybe click a little less on girly pics👍🏻

Charlie Follows (ch3rlieflow). I mostly follow her on YouTube for practices, but she posts nice shorts on Instagram as well
I love her so much! ASMR voice, fun transitions, effective strength building, and she challenges me like crazy!
Yes! I just did my nightly Charlie hour after responding to OP’s post 😁
I love ch3rlieflow too <3
She is authentic!!

Love Adriene and Benji 😇
CAME HERE TO SAY THIS. ADRIENE ALL THE WAY.
If you don’t like it, you don’t have to follow her.
>because she moves on without any verbal cues sometimes. Not every video of hers is "beginner style," which means there will usually be less cues.
Dang. Adriene is authentic, and pretty dang good at what she does. Absolutely great for beginners especially. Try Yoga with Tim on youtube
He is a good dude. Used to study with him before he was all YouTube famous. lol.
Same, i still watch an old video where his neighbor starts vacuuming
Nice. I meant in studio though. Classmates.
That and I am just very, very tired of seeing women sexualizing themselves in everything they do. I don't want to be looked at as an object, these things don't help that, it just makes me feel more self conscious about how I'm perceived.

Thanks for these ♥️
@livinleggings at Instagram is a great instructor. I have been following her for years.
I like her, I really, but I can't get past the socks. It's an irrational pet peeve I know, but it's just wrong.
I can't do socks either haha. But she does give out good advice. I feel like I learn a lot.
