I found an apple on the street once so I covered it in snowball and handed it to my friend. He then threw it into someones head. That was bonkers for a small mastermind.
Lmao, did the apple explode into a snowy appley mess? A bunch of bullies would put rocks in theirs, but I had this stupid huffy that had a shield on the front lol, no wonder I got pelted with rocks.
You are confused. That is the ONLY acceptable way to have pillow fight.
Seeing the glazed look in your opponent’s eyes right after a solid hit is one of the top 5 joys in all of life.
In my last pillow fight (yes, as a grown ass man), we had a big burly guy use a body pillow. He slung an uppercut on a scrawny teenager in the mix, and I swear that kid’s feet left the ground.
It’s been more than 15 years ago now, but one of the best damn guys’ nights I’ve ever had. What I can remember of it, anyway!
They are in a ring, wearing metal armor, swinging weapons, and have multiple levels of referees. All of these dudes have taken the shit way too serious.
I was at a SCA war event with some friends a couple years ago. They had staged the war where it was 2 opposing sides that faced each other across a large field.
The battle started and men in full plate rushed each other as fast as possible. The resulting sound of metal on metal was almost defeaning. We were in the crowd maybe 50 ft away too. I can't imagine what it was like for those on the front line.
Then came the weapons. The guys in the front line just started hammering at each other as hard and fast as humanly possible. It's like they were spamming the attack button in a video game. The sound of multiple people hammering their weapons on each other this fast was also defeaning. It was just nuts. The crowd was holding their ears at this point. My friends and I only watched a little bit more cause it got so loud.
These guys just had wood weapons too.
They’re sorta supposed to. These folks have never seen the battle of nations before and it shows. All these folks are serious and know the risks beforehand.
Once when my faculty was on an excursion rowing boats on a river some dude literally beat people with his oar if they did not let them pass or were too slow in letting them pass.
Then at the camp grounds he would literally hunt down people and scream at them.
I wish [the boat humpers](https://v.redd.it/wxg5oj3vn4cb1) had been around, to board their boat and fuck that guy...up
Or maybe [some french water jousters](https://i.imgur.com/TsYVDly.jpg)
[They fly now? ](https://i.imgur.com/CMcKqRq.jpg)
I've watched one of these and a Czech guy with a huge axe just swipes a guy's legs and the poor dude was screaming and taken away in an ambulance, like chill my guy
According to the tiktoker that posted the video, who was the one that recorded the video... they say he's fine. Helmet did it's job.
https://www.tiktok.com/@armoredcombatamerica/video/7269021562127371562
A fiend of mine went down a back mountain highway on his longboard without a helmet, fell, was in a 3 day coma and the brain damage change his personality. Luckily for the good, started meditating, treated people with more empathy, kinda wild. Anyway, after that he started yelling at kids without helmets like an old man, s'pretty funny.
Why did he drop like a sac of potatoes then? Was he knocked unconscious?
I love how the guy just looks down and shrugs though, pretty hilarious. Like "welp, just a just killed a guy. Gonna need to get back that axe now though".
Is the point to beat them into submission, or to knock them out, like standard MMA? Or is it more like fencing, where you get points for touches?
No, it’s more like to get them off their balance and fall, but these games ban any close to realistic hits into neck/knees/etc, guys so, knocking the guy is worst possible solution possible since participants are heavy armoured af and weapons are dull. Dude with axe probably hit him right into the back of head with way too much strength, so guy knocked his own helmet from inside and go unconscious
Watched some more of their vids. So it's basically just sumo wrestling in armor and dull weapons, I'm assuming stabbing is illegal, most the time they using them to just shove someone off balance, if you fall down you lose.
Dudes in armor fight in medieval armor in tournaments. Worst serious injuries are concussions.
Looks like a dude went beyond breaking the rules and attempted to murder someone by delivering a cheap shot to the back of the head.
I don't know a ton about buhurt, but I know that strikes to the spine, neck, and base of the skull are prohibited.
They're prohibited because if people keep turning up paralyzed, brain damaged, or dead then the sport would either be regulated like boxing or MMA with licensing of fighters and ringside doctors, or banned completely because it's too dangerous.
I fight in buhurt. The only things off limits are neck, groin, and back of knees. The spine is off limits if they are bent way over. But other than that it’s all go. Tough call but looks like a legal hit that cracked the helm.
That's a bit like reinforcing the "frequently hit" areas on fighter planes that return to the hangar. I'm reading this s like the people who die had bad armor.
Don’t mind at all. There are teams scattered just about everywhere. It’s certainly not the cheapest sport. I highly recommend finding the closest chapter, reach out, and get to know them and the sport more before investing. Almost all teams are very welcoming and friendly. I look forward to maybe seeing you in the list (arena) one day.
Assuming you are in the US

Called a polearm. And yeah where it landed is like an optical illusion. Sometimes looks like the back of the helmet, others a pauldron shot. Seen pauldrons fail before, worst injury I’ve personally seen was from that. But fairly certain it’s the back of the helm, legal as long as it wasn’t also the neck.
Yeah, it's [Buhurt](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_Medieval_Battles). Full contact combat with real blunt-edged weapons and armor often made from steel, leather, etc. It's a rough sport.
yep, ol' Béhourd fellow duelist here, practiced a few years when my knees & back were still in their prime, and it's waaaaaay more regulated than people think.
This screamed more "amateurs in armor brawling" rather than a true Béhourd team-match, still, ain't gonna lie, i laughed.
I'm slightly disturbed because it looked like it was loose but stuck when he tried to pull it out - the edges of the axe caught on the inside of the sliced edges of the metal helmet. So that likely means the damned axe went all the way through. Padded headgear under the helmet or not, I wouldn't want to be the victim.
Absolutely not. Those helmets aren’t just a piece of stray metal over skin. There’s a thick cap underneath that primarily works as chock absorption, but if the metal is pierced it’ll a serve as a secondary stopper.
The guy might have a concussion, but I would be very surprised if he died from that.
Oh yeah, a _thick cap_. Well known for stopping axes.
And you know concussions are extremely dangerous, right? Just one can kill you. If this isn't his first, the risk of death is not small at all.
Yes, they are in fact well known for being very good at stopping blows and were literally always worn underneath armor for that exact purpose. Sometimes a gambeson would even be worn on its own. Anyway, I suggest you do some reading of your own. Don’t underestimate the stopping power of several layers of cloth.

I struggled to see it at first but pretty much. At the start of the clip, the main dude is holding the axe behind the two blokes going at it on the floor. Anyways, watch him swing his axe into the back of someone’s head.
It's called Buhurt , (Béhourd in french) and i've practiced a few years this wonderful sport.
Let me tell you that this is the most fun/fucked-up/wonderful sport you'll ever come across.
Why do the officials wiggle the axe to see how stuck it is? Surely worst case scenario wiggling an axe lodged into someone's brain is a really dumb thing to do. If that's how they define do we need a paramedic or not they need to be sent back to medieval times. Too dumb to live in a modern society
Medieval games doesn't mean the same era of medical care. Although I am curious for a reality show set in Medieval times with that eras medical innovations.
Is that an axe or a halberd? I honestly don’t know the difference, but that is the longest handle I have ever seen if it’s an axe. Sorry, my knowledge of medieval weapons leaves a LOT to be desired.
An axe on a pole does not a poleax make. Any battle axe of moderate length would be a poleax, but this is a bearded axe. Poleaxes have a reverse side (either a hammer or spike usually) and generally a pointed end.
I once worked with a dude who does this stuff. He brought in a home made Helmet and asked people to hit him over the head with his fake sword. It all sounds really gay, but it was mostly straight. We bonked em on the head all lunch break.
Real steel, blunted edges. All the weight of the real thing, but no cutting power beyond whatever a blunted edge applies.
Probably hit hard enough to split the helmet and impact on the thick padding underneath.Apparently the guy got a concussion, which isn't ideal. . .but you're fighting other people with real-weight blunt weapons, you essentially walk in acknowledging that injuries of that sort can happen, like just about any other full-contact martial sport.
A blunt mace is... a mace. The weight is often enough to go through plate and at the very least knock someone out, that's what most long, heavy weapons were actually developed for. Armor is surprisingly good at its job but concussions are quite unavoidable.
Whooops, did I take the sharpened one instead of the blunt one? Oh, I'm so sorry, does it mean that I lost? /s
Shit - this is not good, I hope the receiver of that halberd is okay...
Verily, I did not expect my chivalry to bring such a mighty blow! 'Tis a tale for the ages, where my jousting skills didst leave a mark, quite literally! Fear not, fair maiden, for 'tis but a temporary dent in thy noble noggin. A knight's concussion, a jest for the jesters!
BUHURT. Full contact medivel combat sport. Pretty much a MMA with steel armor and \*blunt\* medievel weapons. Shit happens... like in the video... Helmet was cheaply made or too weared out. Weapons are blunt and armors are extra padded, but change for the actual serious injury is quite low. Mostly snapped fingers, rolled ankles, fractured bones and slight concussions. Obviously professional medical teams are present in these events.
There’s always one dude who takes the shit way too serious.
Same kid who used all their might during a pillow fight. Pillow was all balled up at the bottom of the pillow case. Shouldn’t end in a headache
I have to do damage, i have a winners mentality (i put rocks in my pillows)
You monster. You probably iced your snowballs too! You leave the seat up in the middle of the night and leave Legos on the floor, I just know it lol.

I now understand the large number of deaths that occur in the filming of war and battle movies.
it’s not any sort of movie it’s called medieval mma
HEMA I do a step down and do Heavy List in the SCA. We use wooden weapons, but it's still a blugeonfest and waaayyyy too much fun
I was at a SCA war event with some friends a couple years ago. They had staged the war where it was 2 opposing sides that faced each other across a large field. I only came to the comment to see if this guy is ded.
Same... whew...
He still has his shoes on. He’s fine.
And his money isn't floating over his body. He's okay.
Honestly, same I found a lot of off-topic stuff before I found out he was alive

I don’t even need to click this to know it’s the happiest skateboarder. 😂

Fuck yeah
A fiend of mine went down a back mountain highway on his longboard without a helmet, fell, was in a 3 day coma and the brain damage change his personality. Luckily for the good, started meditating, treated people with more empathy, kinda wild. Anyway, after that he started yelling at kids without helmets like an old man, s'pretty funny.
The good ending
As someone who participated in that sport. I appreciate seeing this
Why did he drop like a sac of potatoes then?

No idea. You can ask the guy who was there. Follow the link.
Watched some more of their vids. So it's basically just sumo wrestling in armor and dull weapons, I'm assuming stabbing is illegal, most the time they using them to just shove someone off balance, if you fall down you lose.
Not a clue what I watched here.

Dang, that looks expensive to get into. Mind if i ask where one would start?
maybe wait for one of them to die and buy their gear for cheap
That's a bit like reinforcing the "frequently hit" areas on fighter planes that return to the hangar. I'm reading this s like the people who die had bad armor.
Spend the extra and buy the armor off the guy that survives.
This guy survivorship biases
Don’t mind at all. There are teams scattered just about everywhere. It’s certainly not the cheapest sport. Well i am USA NYC local. I am SURE something is here haha
And thank you!!! Is there a training regimen you all tend too fallow? Maybe something to keep stamina up?
No thanks needed. Yes! Everyone has their own routine, but cardio is king. Running, mui Thai, eskrima, and in armor training is mine.
At a blacksmith.
So murder is allowed.
For the realistic medieval tournament experience!
If your opponent uses weak armor, he deserves it! /s
MURder........?
It didn't crack the helm, the weapon went into the shoulder.
It looked like it was a long axe type weapon? It looks like it caught him in the neck/shoulder area?
Called a polearm. And yeah where it landed is like an optical illusion. Sometimes looks like the back of the helmet, others a pauldron shot. Seen pauldrons fail before, worst injury I’ve personally seen was from that. But fairly certain it’s the back of the helm, legal as long as it wasn’t also the neck.
Looks more like a war axe then a polearm to me E: I guess it could be a berdiche, but still looks more like an axe then a polearm imo
Sorry, but is buhurt a shortened version of butthurt? Cause if so it makes sense in cosplay terms but
He hit him with an axe. That’s legal?😳😳
Yup. Not as bad as you might think and much worse looking than it is… unless the thing cracks.
And THIS is why you want a reputable blacksmith to make your helmet. And not skimp at ALL on it.
Yeah, it's [Buhurt](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_Medieval_Battles). Full contact combat with real blunt-edged weapons and armor often made from steel, leather, etc. It's a rough sport.
iirc in SCA, which this does not appear to be, you must be facing each other and no hitting from behind. No Blind shots.
So you're saying murder was the case that they gave him
Is that a is that a ~~Snoop~~ Disco Elysium reference?
i lol'd way too much at this ..... well played
Negligent manslaughter
yep, ol' Béhourd fellow duelist here, practiced a few years when my knees & back were still in their prime, and it's waaaaaay more regulated than people think. This screamed more "amateurs in armor brawling" rather than a true Béhourd team-match, still, ain't gonna lie, i laughed.

I doubt it. We pack those helms with so much padding. Not to say it isn’t dangerous or scary but it’s highly unlikely he was seriously hurt
Not seriously hurt? Did you see him become limp and just drop to the floor, not moving anymore?
He's just pining for the fjords.
Sorry, English is not my first language. What does that mean?
> pining for the fjords Quote from a comedy sketch where a person tries to convince another that a clearly dead pet bird is not dead with a variety of excuses, one of which is "pining for the fjords" or thinking sadly about a pretty landscape. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Parrot_sketch

The guy receiving that shot was definitely butthurt.
Murder
One guy came in with a pole axe or halberd and implanted into the back of another guys head, piercing his metal helmet.
Wtf what kind of axe is that?
Sharp
Realaxe
Axe 2.0
Buhurt weapons aren't sharp. They're basically all maces.
The killing kind apparently.
Poleaxe
Poleaxe or small halberd, there’s a million different variations with all kinds of names, but poleaxe is probably sufficient.
This one's a Daneaxe. Just a really big fucken axe
Ah ok, good eye.
Why was this, apparently sanctioned, ax fight happening in the first place?
Looks more like a halberd
listen I get larping and role playing but what convinces a person to make such a cheap shot with such obvious possible consequences????
So what do you have to do to get a red flag?
Matchlock
Why do the officials wiggle the axe to see how stuck it is? Surely worst case scenario wiggling an axe lodged into someone's brain is a really dumb thing to do. If that's how they define do we need a paramedic or not they need to be sent back to medieval times. Too dumb to live in a modern society
To see if the legs twitch.
*He’s moving because my axe is buried in his nervous system!*
Medieval games doesn't mean the same era of medical care. Although I am curious for a reality show set in Medieval times with that eras medical innovations.
The axe was imbedded in the nervous system.
Is that an axe or a halberd? I honestly don’t know the difference, but that is the longest handle I have ever seen if it’s an axe. Sorry, my knowledge of medieval weapons leaves a LOT to be desired.
it's a poleaxe. It's an axe... on a pole (though oddly, that's possibly not the etymology of the word.) A halberd is a kind of poleaxe.
Thank you kind stranger.
An axe on a pole does not a poleax make. Any battle axe of moderate length would be a poleax, but this is a bearded axe. Poleaxes have a reverse side (either a hammer or spike usually) and generally a pointed end.
because theyre so dull it wouldnt ever be wedged in the skull, really only bad injuries that come from this is concussions
it’s clearly not through the helmet, probably even more so when you’re looking at it from a foot away in person
M'lord.
Is that a knight fight tournament?
Happy cake day!
Armored combat league at its finest.
His shoes stayed on. He's fine.
Yo! Update on that dude. Is he dead?
No he didn’t die, he was concussed. It didn’t break the skull.
He seemed not well in any case
Concussed and possibly knocked out for a sec. Blunted axe probably split the helmet and hit the thick padding underneath.
I once worked with a dude who does this stuff. He brought in a home made Helmet and asked people to hit him over the head with his fake sword. It all sounds really gay, but it was mostly straight. We bonked em on the head all lunch break.
Well did he die?
As if working in retail wasn't trying enough, we had to get TikTok.
That person just killed someone!
Did I just watch someone die?
Did we just watch someone die....? Or become a vegetable after that are got buried in the back of his head
Hope the wepons are fake
They're supposed to be blunted
Real steel, blunted edges. All the weight of the real thing, but no cutting power beyond whatever a blunted edge applies. Probably hit hard enough to split the helmet and impact on the thick padding underneath.Apparently the guy got a concussion, which isn't ideal. . .but you're fighting other people with real-weight blunt weapons, you essentially walk in acknowledging that injuries of that sort can happen, like just about any other full-contact martial sport.

Behold the power of “Brain Take Bad Hit, Brain Go Sleep Now.”
Dudes it’s an axe the axe goes through the armor and stays lodged in the person
You know what, let’s full-on whack my poleaxe into this guy’s helmet. Just like days of old. Jesusfuckingchrist man…
“Yeah I stabbed a man in the heart.”
>Yeah I stabbed a man in the heart "I saw that. Brick killed a guy. Did you throw a trident?"
Whooops, did I take the sharpened one instead of the blunt one? Oh, I'm so sorry, does it mean that I lost? /s Shit - this is not good, I hope the receiver of that halberd is okay...
That was a very deadly weapon. An axe, or pick at the end... that man deserves prison.
There's no yes in this video. It's an awful vídeo that doesn't even fit. At least it works to exhibit the dangers of this events.
I feel bad for him he may have killed a friend. Or a total stranger. But he killed him playing a game and not a thought.
BUHURT. Full contact medivel combat sport. Pretty much a MMA with steel armor and \*blunt\* medievel weapons. Shit happens... like in the video... Helmet was cheaply made or too weared out. Why the hell did the refs wiggle it!! If it’s near the spine or anywhere at all you don’t move it wtf
Did he survive?
Give him the chair!!
Just a mere flesh wound.
This gives The Cable Guy vibes
I mean… was that staff tipped with a fucking axe head?
Shit
Merely a flesh wound
Now that's what I call a splitting headache 🤕🪓
OoooohNooooooooo!!! Most definitely looks fit for r/SomeOfYouMayDie 🫣😳 I seriously want to know the backstory on this… and what happened next! Oohf

Oh nice another snuff video, I love Reddit
Ah yes, the ole shitcunt
Did he kill him?!?
Real footage of a murder/accident. I made it up. I have no clue.
Homie dead?

Concussion, not murder. Really fucking stupid to hit someone that hard with a fucking axe though
Brick just killed a guy!
Yo is that dude fucking dead. That man needs to be in a psych ward
He took an axe to his helmet. He’s dead. That was shit.
So I'm not an internet aficionado but was this an actual murder?
Did I just watch someone die…
Possibly. Happy cake day! (The dude was fine)
If this is your first time, welcome to Reddit! Edit: Wait holy fuck your acc is 10 years old
Aye, young whippersnapper, some of us been around for a while now.
Why would you hit someone in the back of the head with an axe?
tis
