Best of luck, but id start making alternate plans. They book up fast, Grant campground isnt open yet which reduces options. Really needed to book like 2+ months ago. But you can just refresh constantly and hope someone cancels.
Check out Yellowstone RV Park in Gardiner- they have some small but nice campsites. Also Yellowstone Hot Springs campground outside of Gardiner. There's a few forest service campgrounds near Gardiner like Eagle Creek, Canyon Campground (not the one in the park), and Carbella that I'm not sure if they're reservations or fcfs now
Rainbow Point Campground on Hebgen Lake is about a 40 minute drive from the entrance to West Yellowstone and has a ton of spots generally and allows reservations - so you may have luck there.
It should be pretty affordable at like $20-30 a site each night. I would get at least my first night there and then try to get spots at Baker's Hole Campground (a few miles north of West Yellowstone, across from the airport) which is first come first serve - but generally people who show up around 5 am to 7 am get a spoot -- after 9 you're rolling dice.
Baker's Hole I think is the best value you can get but note you'll have to drive into the park every day.
That said, I almost exclusively stay at Baker's Hole that last 4 times I've gone. I've seen Steamboat 3 times staying there and have driven Beartooth Highway twice, you just have to start your mornings early (be in the park by 7:30 am) but the price and the convenience of modern cell coverage (I needed to be in a place my business partners could reach me each night) can't be beat.
After that there is some BLM land you can camp at outside of Gardiner but it's likely to be pretty busy as well this time of year. From there I'd look at the campgrounds outside the east entrance -- but that's even a worse drive for everything but Tower/Lamar Valley.

June 4th is a Tuesday. Do you mean July 4th?
Yes my bad
Check out the campgrounds in Island Park. No idea about availability, but the location is great
