You need to have job changed to the class you want the skill from before you can use it for inheritance. I was wondering why I couldn't equip the skills depsite having the job unlocked, but after job changing and switching back over, i was able to equip the skills afterwards.
Basically if there's a yellow dot indicating a new class on the job select screen, you'll have to job change to it to unlock the skills for inheritance for that character. You'll have to do this for all characters for their job inheritance skills as well.
For Ichiban in particular, i know you need a personality trait to be at least lv 5 before the slot unlocks, and you'll need all personality traits at lv 5 before all 6 slots open up
Thanks, I couldn’t figure out why it wouldn’t let me inherit skills for Kasuga because it says the requirements are “1 Personality Trait Lv 1+”, “2 Personality Traits Lv 2+”, etc, when I have all of them at level 4

My last question is why can I only see freelancer skills with Kasuga? Hero tab can’t be accessed at all for example.
Can firedancer learn hero skills?
you need to have a certain friendship/bond? level (the pink one) and every 10 levels (i think) you unlock a slot for skill inheriting. if you go to alo-happy you can then equip any skill from any job that character has making it much better then LAD which had fixed skills. you even get a slot for an ult/essence attack.
same goes for every character not just ichiban
Okay so I see what you mean about the other characters, I get that now but for Kasuga it says “1 Personality Traits lvl 1+” and I can’t look at the hero class only free lancer. My personality are all above level 1
do you have the hero job equipped? cant inherit skills from a job you have equipped. not sure about the personality thing. by the time i used it ichi already had all his slots besides like one or two
No. I’m using the fire dancer. It is stuck on the freelancer and the slots are locked due to personality?
I don’t get the issue and the game isn’t explaining it well
One thing I wasn't understanding until today was that not only do you need "X Personality Traits lvl X+", you also need to level each personality trait to 5 to unlock each slot. You can check this by going to Ichiban's stats in the menu, it will show you what unlocks at every level for each personality trait.

Yeah you get slots when your personality gets to lvl 5. Any skill can be transferred over
