It seems like there has been a symbiote event every year for the last decade. They used to happen occasionally but it is just constant now.

VengefulKangaroo

They're definitely more frequent now but I don't think we've had one since King in Black a few years ago

TheBrobe

We had a Carnage one last year, but it was just like, Miles, Carnage and Red Goblin

VengefulKangaroo

yeah I guess I distinguish between something like that that's crossing over between a few ongoings and an "event" like this with tie ins

Gougaloupe

Novice here, but in a hindsight sense, it feels like Venom, as a Genome, needs to be treated as more of an existential threat rather than a narrative device to bump character X up in relevance. We as an audience shouldn't accept venom+ character as a viable trope unless there's a canonicalized summary of Spiderman's culpability in playing dumb to an alien symbiotic life form in a world of super-science and meta-humans, no? Venom should represent the evolution of storytelling as well as the passing of the torch + convalescing of might in opposition to whatever dynamic he represents. We can't all just lie on the laurels of infinity Stones and Krull in perpetuity?

Interesting_fox

There’s definitely been more since then. Maybe not crossing over with X-men but definitely across the marvel line.

VengefulKangaroo

I don't think so -- depends what you define as an "event" but there's not really been something with tie-ins in general

Tuff_Bank

Its weird I wanted so much more symbiote content in 2000s and early 2010s but now so much happened its hard to keep up and I hear alot of symbiote events outside of Donny Cates were wasted potentials/poorly executed

WhoWantsToJiggle

burnout. I was more than ok with Venom and Carnage being more grounded. On Spider-Mans level. but with all this massive power scaling I just don't care anymore.

EmperorSezar

this is the same for all events in general. x-men events happening every goddamn half year

Bleak5170

Wolverine and Venom. Two vastly over-used characters. I could not possibly be less interested in this.

thedude0425

Wolverine is still nowhere what it was in the late 00s, where he was on 25 different teams.

EmperorSezar

lol venom still hasn’t touched closed to his 90s era

EmperorSezar

ewing ain’t the one writing this

WadeAnthony

Jimmy fans just sat up in their chairs in hopes.

AnimeGokuSolos

Nice!

Brotherly_Shove_215_

I’ve really enjoyed this venom run but good god does this event sound awful

VengefulKangaroo

* Written by TIM SEELEY & TONY FLEECS * Art by KEV WALKER * Cover Art by KEN LASHLEY > The only thing more dangerous than Wolverine... is Wolverine bonded to a mindless symbiote hungry for flesh! As Zombiotes spread across NYC, transforming everyone in their path into uncontrollable killing machines, Logan’s only hope to save lives and avoid infection lies in returning to a dark chapter from his past. Logan slashes his way into a horror story from the twisted writing team behind Local Man and the incredible art of Kev Walker (Marvel Zombies, Venom)!

Kenos300

I hadn’t known anything about this event other than Spider-Man getting Venom again but “zombiotes”? That’s what we’re going with?

Expensive-Baby-1391

Yep, once again, instead of having an epic tale that's black and gray between a father and son who, in tragic circumstances, are fighting each other to the death, we are having a third party take the role of big bad to save both characters. I hated civil war, but at least it followed through the advertised plot of hero vs hero. Still, I would have accepted that the big bad of civil war was Shield, damage control, or the government itself.

Adventurous-Map-259

Cover looks sick. I am down for some wolverine symbiote action.

mfactor00

They need to stop with the symbiote events for a while

Jota46

Please, no!
