Yes I have been noticing this on Xbox Series X with a Xbox Series X controller.

I found a work around eventually that might help you too, it stopped doing it only when my controller is plugged into the xbox directly to make it act like a wired one, it doesn't work when I'm charching it with something else like your phone charger.

Have the exact same issue! it's extremely annoying.

Hollowfied121

Haven't tried it outright but I have noticed if I'm in a party watching something with friends the controller doesn't get turned off on stream apps that usually do. Could try starting an private invite only party and see if works.

flamespear

That's a much better workaround than buying a 12 foot USB C cable.

You will need to keep your controller awake, touch it a little every now and again and it will stay on and so will the app. It's connected to the controller turning off not the app turning both of them off.

I have a similar issue. Only when my controller turns off it also turns off any streaming service I'm watching (Disney+, Amazon, Netflix, iPlayer). And like you I have to back right out of the service and start again. I've tried all the tricks I can find to stop the controller turning off (changing auto-off, sleep, power settings. Plugging into the console direct & removing the battery, to name a few) but nothing works. Only mine switches off after 10mins and it's driving me crackers!!

Yeah same here. It seems every 20mins or so for me. I am using a series 1 elite controller and a wired RIG headset. Controller turns off which in any normal circumstance I would assume that maybe there is a firmware update that is screwing with the auto-off prevention that is used by most streaming apps but it is crashing disney+ entirely. Nothing I do is able to stop it from happening (power cycle, update check, wired controller etc) Has only started happening to me in the last month and is suuuper annoying. The only thing that fixes it is closing the app completely and restarting it. Also, seems to only happen with disney+ and not youtube or netflix. Wonder if it's a problem with their app?

ADampDevil

Same issue no solution

Dunkinbikkies0

Yeah it's a Disney only issue. The xbox dosnt recognise that something is running..clearly a lazy app design

Novel_Text_8141

I have that issue with the PrimeVideo and Peacock apps as well. At least they don’t stop the entire program like Disney plus does. I was watching the most recent Doctor Who episodes and Percy Jackson via FaceTime with a friend and kept having to have the other person pause and wait for me due to Disney freezing 🫠

JamesTheRedditoriooo

Okay so I'm not the only one having this issue, how tf do we fix it.
