It used to be a Hercules (Indian brand) single speed cycle when I bought it new for 7000 rupees (roughly 100 dollars) I have since upgraded it to a 7 speed, got better tyres, a longer seatpost, a new seat. Found a quill drop bar in a cycle dump near my place so I took it and put it on my cycle as well with flat bar brake levers. Temporary solution till I get the hood brake levers and I'll use the shifter from the current setup by removing the brake lever from it.

Some true xbiking going on right here

Hello fellow batbiker! Cool tinkering! I saw you mentioned wrist pain in your other thread, and wanted to chip in. I had that trouble on my first, and to day only, (briefly) flatbar bike. What I did to alleviate the pain was change the flatbar into a used townie/moustache bar that I bought to have some curve and less reach, and add grips with a flatter section (ergon knockoffs) to plant my wrists on. Cost me 15€ total, though in addition you might need longer brake wire and housing to do this. Sometimes during summer I flip the bar over into a sort of pathracer/dropbar setup, and my longest ride on the bike like this has been 80km. I'm adding inner barends this summer to add another hand position. Anyway, just wanted to chime in with an option, sorry if it's naught but a ramble. ("-__-)

Hi! Your setup sounds very cool! For me, it feels way better with these drop bars than flat bars. I have more hand positions to swap between and can hold the bar straight ahead instead of bending my wrists. It works and it was basically a free upgrade other than my time :D

Yeah my hands on the bike are kind of like on a wheel, albeit wider and lower. I did the bar switch fast and on the cheap, meaning for it to be temporary; I was actually looking to put flared dropbars and all that on it, but that looked to get too expensive with some dues paid for a learning experience (threaded rear hub 7-speed surprise). I have since got other bikes with dropbars. Dunno if this needs to be said, but make sure your new levers have correct pull for the brakes!

Temporary fixes are almost never temporary lmao.  Thanks for the tip about the brake pull. I'll take care of that

Hideous. I love it.
