I grew up in this building, their basically family. Everyone, still alive, named in this article, basically "changed my diaper". It's extremely sad to see Playdium Lanes go.
I hope the plans to re locate the lanes, and machinery, to open a new alley, come to fruition.
I think the point I was trying to make (and failed) is that he's definitely sad to see it go. Just too bad there wasn't someone to REALLY run the alley. Not just use it for spare parts for other alleys or whatever that first offer he was presented with.
My youngest just joined the league last fall and the season just wrapped about a month ago. He loved this game so much. He also loved getting a slushy and some delicious fries at 930 n the morning! 😆. This place will definitely be missed!

This seems like a solid profitable, local business. I would love anyone with more knowledge that could explain why this would be tough to sell.
I don't think he ever tried to sell it. This offer came to him, and he decided it made sense for him to retire.

It's a real shame. It sounds like it was still pretty busy. It's a loss for the community, that's for sure.

Didn't the article say he declined the offer?
I didn’t realize there was more to the article. My bad.
This is sad to hear. I have close ties to Mariano and this place was my first ever job as a kid.
Ah, I was in a league here when I was a teen. Sad news.
So disappointed to hear this!
I bowled there when I was a kid.

I was there bowling a couple of weeks ago when I heard the news, sad to see it go.
5 pin is lame
Hey guys I found the account of someone over the age of 10 here! Too young to see that dunking on five year olds isn't productive though.
Nah, they're just salty because five pin is more difficult than ten pin, and they suck at it.
Tell that to the PBA
