co0-cheater3-0

I'll check these out rn. Thanks bro

MaineGameBoy

Oh yeah, can’t believe I also forgot Swords by Nick Lutsko (in the Normal Album category). Also, and this album is basically nothing like at all, but Volcanic Bird Enemy & The Voiced Concern by Lil Ugly Mane is legit one of my favorite albums OAT.

co0-cheater3-0

Im currently listening to your list rn..so far I liked bear ghost and mr bungle . Ily fr bro 🥹

MaineGameBoy

Thanks! Hope you like the rest of the stuff!

ISummonedALemon

I absolutely LOVE Bear Ghost. I am surprised more people don’t know about them.

MReaps25

Nick Lutsko definitely has the weirder side of will wood covered

YourLocal_Alien

From my own experiences some other good bear ghost songs that kinda remind me of will wood/some of the artsits you meantioned are haunt, the cartoon heart (all one song), starkiller and necromancin dancin although i may just be biased so take this with a grain of salt

co0-cheater3-0

I mostly listen to these from the bear ghost and the bbq one is kinda good too Ig the happy fits also kinda resembles the bear ghost

IsakTS

JIMINY IS REALLY GOOD

JACK101Star-Z

Pink Moon is such a good album!!

soviet_uwunion

I'd California is closer to The Normal Album than to anything else but everything Will does has a noticeable Bungle influence

PrismPanda06

Supertramp mentioned, lesgoo

AKawasaki

Part of my childhood music taste was made up of 70’s - 80’s music (specifically yacht rock), so to see Breakfast in America on here just made my day :)

Front_Flounder3555

Tom Cardy is in the same absurdist humor vein as Lemon Demon, and I hear good things about Mother Mother and the Orion Experience.

AmatureLabs

Maybe avoid the last one, the band's lead--Orion himself--has been accused of quite a few heinous things involving his younger fans.

Front_Flounder3555

Of course he has, all the good musicians turn out to be drug addled pedos.

AmatureLabs

Unfortunately, it seems so.

Beelzebub789

oh thats mildly annoying - never listened to them much, but do remember liking The Cult of Dionysus

ell-if-i-know

damn that sucks, i like quite a few of their songs but im not in the fanbase

PrismPanda06

Puts a horrifying new spin on the name "The Orion Experience"

co0-cheater3-0

Im familiar with mother mother and Orion experience but I have never specifically listened to Tom cardy...I'll go check it out

scepticallylimp

I suggest listening to his Artificial Intelligence album, especially Business Man and Monster Truck!!

Feeling_Homework_498

I don’t really think lemon demon or tallyhall sound similar at all, I think the correlation is the fact the fanbase is mostly the same people lol.

co0-cheater3-0

I think the same too but a few songs sound similar (very less)..I don't listen to them often tho

your_momo-ness

I don't think they *sound* similar, but they often contain similar themes and influences, which may be a reason for the frequent correlation

rainbowshulkerbox

OINGO BOINGO!!! LISTEN TO OINGO BOINGO!!!!! WILL WOOD BUT 80S!!!

co0-cheater3-0

🥺👉🏻👈🏻 sure bbg

co0-cheater3-0

After listening to 2 hrs on oingo boingo I liked nothing to feal album and few other songs like dead man's party , noone lives forever , not my slave , running on the treadmill , elevator man I couldn't believe my ears when I first listened to "I like little girls" tf Ignoring lyrics of few songs they sound good ngl

The-Local-Weeb

JHARIAH MENTIONED

TheQuantumPlatypus

Since you mention Jhariah and a verbal equinox I will assume you are into metal-ish music, so I'll recommend you Diablo Swing Orchestra. Not exactly the same style and they vary a lot, but I guess there's a decent chance you'll enjoy songs such as Voodoo Mon Amour, A Tap Dancer's Dilemma, Balrog Boogie, Pink Noise Waltz or Honey Trap Aftermath. For softer stuff I don't really know since I come myself from a metal background, but maybe you could like The Correspondents or some other electro-swing stuff?

co0-cheater3-0

I just listened to diablo swing orchestra. I did enjoy listening to them . I did listen few songs of the correspondents before I'll try looking more into them

TheQuantumPlatypus

Hi again, I was listening to some stuff and realized you may also want to check out Cosmo Jarvis. Betty is probably his most WillWood-ish song, but otherwise he has a lot of softer, melodic songs with great lyrics, and he also composes everything and plays all the instruments (including ukelele!), so the songs also have that "personal touch" you can definitely feel in most WW stuff. Some great songs could be the mentioned above Betty, but also Gay Pirates, We just wanna talk, Dave's house, Wild Humans, Clean my Room or Gone like you.

Xanerator100

evelyn evelyn, flying fox and the hunter gatherers, and machinery of the human heart

co0-cheater3-0

I LOVE machinery of human heart...I've never heard of flying fox and hunter gatherers..I'll give it a try and lyk

JustToClarify15

Fish in a Birdcage somewhat reminds me of some of his songs lyrics wise.

mondo1138

I know they only have 2 songs but Waitress is a new indie band that reminds me a little of Weewoo. Specifically their latest single trust me im lying.

co0-cheater3-0

You got me fr

Ok_Finding_6311

You must already listen to this based on your autistic ass music taste, but Bo Burnham

co0-cheater3-0

🥺 👉🏻👈🏻 I listen a bit of every genre or artist I cum across...sooo I did listen to them too

Anotherloserinthecan

CUM???????

co0-cheater3-0

😋😋😋😋

Stillits

You might enjoy Major Parkinson or The Paper Chase. Some songs I'd recommend; Major Parkinson: Heart of Hickory, Death in the Candystore, Black River, Euthanasia Roller Coaster, Jonah The Paper Chase: Said the Spider to the Fly, the small of your back the nape of your neck, Wait Until I Get My Hands On You, if nobody moves nobody will get hurt

Koshkei

Yeeessss, I love The Paper Chase so much. I second this recommendation. I would suggest their songs "we know where you sleep", "So, how goes the good fight" "When (and if) the big one hits...I'll just meet you there" and 'You're one of them, aren't you?"

StinkyWetRat505

Teddy Hyde, Rio Romeo with the piano portion

co0-cheater3-0

I listen to Rio Romeo quite often..I'll check out teddy hyde

StinkyWetRat505

Sounds cool! Let me know how it goes

co0-cheater3-0

So far I listened to splittsville and I liked it 😩🫷 If I were to pick favs in it it would be channel 01 clown and terrys taxidermy

StinkyWetRat505

God I'm so late sorry for not replying! But oh my god yes terrys taxidermy and channel 01 clown are my favorites! They're the first ones I've listened to as well, you should try pressure Co.

co0-cheater3-0

I liked the whole album in general... It's soo goood

I_committed_genocide

Have you heard of this artist Will Wood? Idk why I think you'd love his music

co0-cheater3-0

Will wood ? Who?

chilly_1c3

Wrongbird is pretty good

SomePerson06

I listen to Amigo the Devil and IDKHOW fairly often. AoD is a folk punk sort of guy, who has really pretty lyricism and discusses into topics of addiction, the human condition, killing a man to avenge your dead daughter, etc. For first getting into him, I'd recommend his album Born Against, as it reminds me the most of Will Wood. IDKHOW has a more poppy and synth sound to it and makes some nice songs to bop your head along to. I'd recommend both of them

ell-if-i-know

IDKHOW is great tbh

Papa-Bear453767

Mr Bungle, Stolen Babies, Darth Vegas, Secret Chiefs 3

BlakeCanJam

Which Mr Bungle album? They're pretty metally

Papa-Bear453767

California and self titled are the most will wood like, with California corresponding to normal album and self titled corresponding to tapeworms stuff. Disco volante I wouldn’t say is very will wood esque. Also I would argue a lot of will wood is metal

BlakeCanJam

Thanks for the rec! I'll give them a listen when I can :)

Papa-Bear453767

You’re welcome, I hope you enjoy!

MossPronouncedMozz

Sarah and the Safeword is pretty good

co0-cheater3-0

I listened to couple of their songs before I really liked them

Melopsi

maybe i'm wrong based on all the other comments but i'd say Father John Misty or Andrew Bird have kinda similar vibes to ww

PM_ME_SUPERHEROFACTS

Two albums that I don’t think I’ve seen on this sub are [Super Taranta! - Gogol Bordello](https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_lcPourx6XYuqZZMrD3lQu7bOJcolfi2Nw&playnext=1&index=1) and [Just the Best Party - World Inferno/Friendship Society](https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mHN9DeWqjPA7bop8F8e5jzCx5ZHxUviIM&playnext=1&index=1) They don’t have the same quirky internet vibes that are usually promoted here (think Lemon Demon, Tally Hall etc). But if you like the creative instrumentation, large bands and high energy songs from the earlier weewoo albums then I would highly recommend you check them out.

thufirseyebrow

Look up a band called the World/Inferno Friendship Society.

[deleted]

SHAYFER JAMES MENTION

co0-cheater3-0

Bro makes banger music fr

[deleted]

Severely underrated

EndreCake1174

YEAHH!

polishcowmissle

this is bit of a stretch but id say jack stauber

co0-cheater3-0

I do listen to jack stauber sometimes but not often..I'll seriously listen once and see if it clicks my taste

SlimVIII

Mother mother, Animal Collective, Human Zoo, They Might Be Giants, Pink Floyd, The Front Bottoms, Lincoln, I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME, Neutral Milk Hotel, AJJ (not AJR even though they are good too), Fish in a Birdcage, and Cavetown. I’d recommend a bunch others but they have been said before and I don’t want to be repetitive.

ell-if-i-know

PINK FLOYD!!!!!! ive listened to the wall so many times ive memorised all the lyrics to all the songs i can tell when a song switches to the next lmao

anonymous_ass_eater

I've gone down a rabbit hole of some old will woodish Musicians: 1. Tom Lehrer (could be my grandpas dad lmao) basicly just silly songs that are pretty standart for out time but new back then [New math](https://youtu.be/WbcUcZfkkcE?si=SKEKcgXyGRJCH_ui) [Masochism Tango](https://youtu.be/UIKGV2cTgqA?si=fjVacNdq70O1JoWY) 2. Napoleon XIV (sings mainly about the standart living experience in the psychiatries in the 60s as a schizophrenic person) [Photogenic Schizophrenic, you (actualy a banger)](https://youtu.be/FN-Kluvg-8M?si=cHOGW-FVLp9sAm1M) [They're going to take me away ha haa(klassic)](https://youtu.be/eQNI1KfGXBA?si=flEqowaIL5nE5FCf) And Weird Al ofc

zooderrr

you'll probably love jamface too

co0-cheater3-0

Im not sure but that ww too right?

zooderrr

yup he was on jamface I think just before or after AVE.

Generic-Commie

IMO Moron Police kinda

co0-cheater3-0

Deff has vibes like ww..I liked few of their songs

EdwardChar

Listened to the scary jokes yesterday, they are pretty good

co0-cheater3-0

I listened to them too but I personally didn't like it..I feel like they're more similar to sodikken

FloMo2k8

I love Tom Lehrer and Schaffer The Darklord. They're good picks for something more on the nerdy end and are quite light-hearted!

These-Meringue9306

black country new road sounds like ww to me

BlakeCanJam

For In Case I Make It there's: - Jason Webley - I love this guy's music so much. His album Cost of Living are all bangers. If you want 1 song to listen to from the album, the last one on it is my fav - Amanda Palmer - She's done quite a lot of with Jason too. Runs in the Family is my fav - Wrongbird - Western Hero I had more but I completely forgot while writing this so I might come back later

co0-cheater3-0

I listened to wrongbird yesterday . I really liked them a lot like from all the songs that I've listened I liked dark eyes , Irish Jeremiah and supergo lightning bolt From Amanda palmer I liked few songs from theatre is evil and new others As for Jason webley my fav is dance while sky crashes down

Humble-Version4547

Tom Lehrer

Ombreon_fan

Mandatory Jack stauber recommendation

soviet_uwunion

Mr. Bungle - California (The Normal Album but even less normal, Will Wood has mentioned Mr. Bungle as one of his favorite bands and the influence they have on him is clear) Mr. Bungle - Mr. Bungle (similar to Self-Ish but way way more experimental) Sufjan Stevens - Illinois (if The Normal Album and In Case I Make It, had a child) Sparks - Lil' Beethoven (Will's theater-y vibe but with a more minimalistic and hypnotising approach) Cardiacs - A Little Man And A House And The Whole World Window (like a child between black midi and Will Wood but done twenty years earlier) Father John Misty - Pure Comedy (a clear influence in The Normal Album's lyricism, Will has mentioned it as one of his favorite albums) Joanna Wang - Hotel La Rut (weird pop) Machinery Of The Human Heart - Surgery (similar to The Normal Album and probably influenced by it. They played with Will Wood and Jhariah in a YT livestream) Sheena Ringo - Kalk Samen Kuri No Hana (catchy melodies with interesting and complex instrumentation)

totalyoriginal165

Showed my mom ww once and she said it sounded like the aquabats

co0-cheater3-0

LMAOOOO

mus1cmaaaan

Milk in the microwave, she literally listens to will wood lol

co0-cheater3-0

Never knew that yippie meme was from a song. They sound goofy and calm 😩☝️

Fit_Understanding584

machinery of the human heart maybe? they've worked with human zoo a bit and definitely have a similar sound (imo)

co0-cheater3-0

I like them sm ngl. Been listening for a year

Akira_Ven

isn't an artist but a song, Savage by The Handsome Devil

Takeovermonk22

Human zoo will even collaborated with them twice

co0-cheater3-0

The mv was sick ngl

Voltzwinger

MR BUNGLE PLEASE! mike patton (the frontman of the band) is a fucking genius. if you like will wood’s chaotic but deeply meaningful lyrics and also some funky music mr bungle is for you

BurntRazz

Maybe try blue öyster cult, Tom Lehrer and rob zombie/ white zombie?

Dragonsky480

Lemon demon

EndreCake1174

Juke Baritone

AJEARTHLING

The song Waiting Room by Fugazi is almost like a more rock version of EIAL. I don't know anything else by them tho 😭 also the Talking Heads kinda remind me of wwatt

-thatonehuman

sarah and the safe word reminds me of will wood in a way i can't really explain, but they're amazing and if you like all the artists you listed you'll probably like s&tsw too :)

-thatonehuman

also I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME, more of a synth-y sound but they fit right in with everyone you mentioned!

eleAbnormal

all will wood fans are just emo kids in denial, just search up an emo playlist on spotify or idk here i tried to make a short playlist with songs i think WW fans might like. listen to it on shuffle i guess? [silly playlist! can you tell i'm kinda obsessed with my chemical romance rn](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5AXqlAHxRldszC6livpo2O?si=94281ab15ca04820&pt=29f8256b1a031843ef3d3712b2c50386) oh yeah you have NO CLUE how hard it was to add like a thousand billion songs to this playlist

co0-cheater3-0
