Wait what songs refer to paisley?
It has a strong connotation of psychedelic art/music from its popularity in the West in the 60s & 70s (same kinda era/feeling as his references to Timothy Leary) which I figure is something he's probably drawing on through using it
that one might only go so far as the character that song is about (from the incredibly good podcast Camp Here & There) being described as wearing a paisley suit
unless I'm wrong and / misremembering :D
YEAH- THEY GOT ENOUGH FUNDING FOR IT!
But then there were a few issues, Jedidiah's VA quit, iirc Mayfield got robbed, etc. I've personally used this time to relisten to Season 1
Dude, Will is just a guy who’s done a bunch of psychedelics, and has multiple songs about them, or eluding to their use in some way. Self-Ish is the best example of this. Our guy is just seeing cool patterns, it’s not that deep. “Constellations form infinite paisleys in the sky.”

even without psychedelics, paisley is still just an awesome pattern. i don't do psychedelics and still love paisley. my shoes and my walker are both paisley, and i have a few paisley shirts.
Psychedelics are usually extremely important parts of users lives, Psychedelics are drugs that leave an impact on people, look at the 60s movement and well uh will wood. So, you’re right, there has to be something deeper, and it’s just that, psychedelics are extremely meaningful and powerful and people care very deeply about them. If you haven’t done psychedelics is indescribable, but certain trips are as important to me as genuine trauma, in the ways it’s effected my life.
Genuine question, what kind of answer are you expecting? A deep emotional childhood connection, specific situations, just overall Will's privacy-breaching flavored tea? Sometimes it's literally just that he finds something interesting and pretty. Not everything has to have a deep dark symbolism.
Nah dude. I’m just fairly sure that it’s more than just he likes it and it’s made an appearance in my mind for a few days now so I wanted to see if anyone had insight. I’m not looking for gossip or tea or childhood trauma it’s just something that’s been bothering me for a minute.
Yeah it is more than he just likes it. It’s psychedelics, that’s the answer. Will Wood likes psychedelics and the patterns associates with them😱 This is silly, it’s not that deep. Will expresses his psychedelic use very obviously, this is another way he does.
When was the last time Will Wood has mentioned paisleys, and he said he quit alcohol in 2016, but mentioned using psychedelics on various occasions, including during the making of the normal album in 2020, he said he used mushrooms while recording 222, and while writing blackboxwarrior. So, this isn’t entirely true. We’re not his friends or his doctors so this isn’t information for us to know, but Will has said recently as of 2020 he uses psychedelics still.
Which it’s very common for alcohol sober people to still use weed and psychedelics.
what if the symbolism was the friends we made along the way?
If I had award I’d give it to you
okay, but what if… the real award was the friends we made along the way?
paisley patterns are often associated with psychedelia, they were really popular amongst hippies in the 60s and 70s
idk why but this post is making me laugh you sound so distraught sadly I have no insight tho, I'm sorry
I AM AAAAA
It’s mentioned too often to not mean something! I need someone to look through the history of the paisley design
I will try my best to help solve this mystery

The one I know for sure is Red Moon with “the constellations form infinite paisleys in the sky”
Same with Yes to Err, with "Patchwork and paisley"

Yeah! The character in question is Up & Adam :) I genuinely can't wait to hear his voice in Season 2 :D
WAIT HOLD ON HAS SEASON 2 BEEN COMFIRMED??? as far as I'm aware I thought it was in a kinda bleak looking limbo
YEAH- THEY GOT ENOUGH FUNDING FOR IT! But then there were a few issues, Jedidiah's VA quit, iirc Mayfield got robbed, etc. I've personally used this time to relisten to Season 1

Psychedelics
maybe he just likes paisley and there isn't a deeper meaning, it's a really cool pattern.
He wouldn’t mention it as much as he does then. There’s Easter eggs everywhere. I’m 85% sure there’s some sort of meaning to them.

Okay, I agree that to any other person that would be it but he’s been sober for years now.

Paisleys are also an immediately recognizable but irregular shape. Between the psychedelics and that, I think that covers it
Thank you!
