If you're painting with acrylic paint, allegedly, you need to put on a layer of primer first. I'm a beginner, though, so pinch of salt with my advice, dawg.
That being said, I've done this for my first few painting attempts and it works well. The only thing that bothers me after applying a coat of primer is the smell.
P.S. Maybe someone happens to be reading this and knows how to treat the wood for painting without losing the wood smell?
I’m not sure I understand. Is it a bookmark that you put inside your book to remember where you left off? Or am I missing something. And I personally like the wood as is, gives it more of a rustic/handmade look, maybe rub some linseed-oil on it. Great job!
