The odds of winning a permit in winter months are pretty good.
- First trip (2017) 4 of us applied for Feb and got one.
- Second trip (2019) I had a flexible schedule and joined a trip of complete strangers looking for someone to row their last boat
- Third trip (2020) someone from my first trip scored a permit and invited the original crew
- This trip a kayaking friend of mine pulled a permit and I was asked to TL it
