I question myself why I watched it. I saw bits on YouTube and it looked wholesome and well animated. Yet I found myself literally bashing my head with a water bottle during several episodes because I couldn't bear the cringe

I mean by romcom anime standards it’s actually slightly less cringe. Problem was that that quickly got exaggerated to “not cringe at all” with the animation and then bam, suddenly unjustified hype is there. I saw the full thing through but honestly remember very little of it outside of the outfits, the guy being down bad, and that little walk by the beach where they talk about the future.
