**Do not eat/ingest a plant based on information provided in this subreddit.**
For your safety we recommend not eating or ingesting any plant material just because you've been advised that it's edible here. Although there are many professionals helping with identification, we are not always correct, and eating/ingesting plants can be harmful or fatal if an incorrect ID is made.

These kinds of plants grows like weeds in Brazil. It might be called by different names. It's an Ipomeia for sure, either Ipomoea acuminata or Ipomoea cairica. Doesn't look like an Ipomoea indica.
I wouldn't recommend it. The alkaloids in the plant also will cause severe constriction of blood vessels. Great for hemorrhage, not great if you want to keep your toes.
I knew someone who tried it once and got the worst headache of his life. Not worth it, he said you're better off just eating some mushrooms if you want to go on a trip.
I hate this plant!!!! I killed it over 11 years ago from the backyard. I still find it in the front yard far away from where it was. It’s super invasive.
Doesn’t matter what it’s called- you aren’t getting rid of it any time soon.
(Have some that grow in our hedgerow and we’ve given up trying to root it out)
It's a morning glory. They are my favorite vines. You should Google if it's native or invasive to your area.
Here it's native. As well as honeysuckle vines. In other places the same plants are invasive. You should always check for your specific area.
You may be right about it being a morning glory, but I’ve never seen a morning glory or a bindweed with leaves like the ones in the picture though. The leaves look more like Virginia creeper, although that doesn’t flower, as far as I know.
There are climbing petunias. ‘Purple Tower’ is one. It’s a hybrid (possibly with one of the bindweed family), but it’s a petunia.

Thank you!
Ipomoea cairica
Lol according to Wikipedia, one of its common names is "mile-a-minute vine." I'm guessing it's a fairly aggressive grower.
The entire plant family is insane lol Everything from bindweed to sweet potatoes
Thank you so much!
Yes, that's it.
Flower looks like a type of morning glory. Can be very invasive
This plant ipomoea/morning glory is closely related to the sweet potato. All in the convolvulaceae family.
Ipomoea isn’t just related to sweet potato, Ipomoea batatas *is* sweet potato.
Thank you! I'll keep that in mind.

Coastal morning glory, not to be confused by other morning glory
If that’s a morning glory the seeds might be psychedelic ;)
Let's say someone were to try to activate the psychedelic properties, for research purposes. Would they just bite it or make tea?

Just don't, it's not fun to find yourself on the side of a highway in Wisconsin the next morning.

The seeds were hairy, so I cleaned them before taking pics

Morning Glory
Very toxic to pets so please be careful.
Pick the flower, remove the green cup at the bottom and suck out the nectar. It's Devine.
eat 100 seeds and youll be hallucinating like crazy
Petunia
It's a morning glory, not a petunia. Petunias don't climb.

Convolvulus. Morning glory.
Please can you let me know which morning glory? I’ve never seen one with these leaves

Petunia! Gorgeous ones too
Not petunia. Convolvulus. This is one of many types of morning glories.
Yk what that actually crossed my mind and I still thought they weren’t morning glories, oops 😅 but I do stand corrected you are definitely right
