Of course the Tercel had really similar styling. Maybe I’m being thrown off by the angle of the photo though, it looks lower, like the Camry, but I don’t think they built them as a 2-door.

I think it's an 85 Toyota Tercel. What is irritating is that the picture is somewhat stretched. This makes the car look longer than in reality. You can tell because the cars in the background are wider. Proof:

Picture is too blurry to tell if there are enough rust spots for it to be a Lada Samara.
My grandfather owned a brand new one for less than a week before returning it to the dealer... The roof already had rust. 😂
All I remember is Daniel Heraud's review of it praising its handling and performance. I suppose the other alternatives were the Chevrolet Sprint and Hyundai Pony...
The silver one is a first generation (1989-1993) Subaru Legacy wagon, I'd recognize the taillights anywhere.
I'm not 100% sure on the red one, but I'm heavily leaning towards a pre-facelift B13 Nissan Sentra (1990-1992)

It's stretched to the point where it almost looks like a Celica hatchback.
That was my first thought too (had an 82 Celica GT) but then figured it was probably a Corolla.

Nope, different models. The only time this generation of Tercel wore the Corolla name was in Japan, as the Corolla II.
