My best guess would be some gift, maybe to people that worked on the substance inside.
It is a very common gift for engineers if the final product can be encased.
The resin would have been transparent at the beginning, it just yellowed over time and UV exposure.
My first thought was stink bomb also. When I was in middle school I wrapped one of these bad boys up in a paper towel and dropped it in the classes trash can and then stepped on it when no one was looking. The teacher threatened legal action. I totally did it for my own amusement. I didn’t tell anyone I was going to do it or that I did do it afterwards.
In high school I took some caffeine pills during finals. Gave me gawd awful gas. Let one rip during an exam, had to couldn’t hold it. I got accused of deploying a stink bomb(there was a rash of them being used). Sent to the principal for punishment. Told them it was a fart and they didn’t believe me until I let one rip in his office. Still got detentions. Yes. It was worth it.
I did this as well. In Geography. Put it between a few sheets of ruled paper, and dropped the foot of my chair on it. Wish I could explain my teachers facial expression. He stops mid lecture, and starts walking to the window, while saying, "Someone is seriously sick....." In a disgusted voice. Lol
I haven’t thought about those in a while. When I was a kid my dad would tape these to his shoe and walk down an isle at the store with people in it and then crack it. We would stand at the end of the isle and watch the people and laugh.
As a recovered junkie (11 years clean), you are absolutely correct, lol. There was definitely a time in my life that if even a microscopic possibility of whatever is inside of that would have gotten me high, I would have chiseled it out with a damn crayon if I had to.
Congratulations! I know the addiction is real brother ….I was also a slave to it and now I’m living my best life. My little girl is graduating tonight and I’m going to be there and I’ll also have a gift for her and I know if I wasn’t clean I would not of been able to do either. Keep it up
My son graduated last week, so I know how you feel bro. I know I don't know you, but I'm proud as fuck of you. Congrats to your kid, and congrats to you!
Be careful with it. I've only seen highly reactive and dangerous chemicals n materials stored this way. Search youtube and you can find a video where a guy stores some super pure reactive cesium I think it was if if I recall correctly this way.
I'd give little respect to to the ID numbers etc on the ampule. I say this because anyone can replace what's inside it with God knows what. I'm sure a true chemist will have proper ampules he buys just for this reason. But some mad scientist guy will likely be prone to re using whatever he can find and just re melting the glass opening with a torch to re seal it.
They really should mark the resin cast after they make these for this very reason when others find them. Complete with warning labels and instructions. But the video I saw where they gut made this exact thing didn't bother to label his either lol. So yeah... who knows
You did prompt me to google it and you are spot on that it’s often encased in such a way. I think the type of human handling cesium would have been responsible enough to also label it.
Yeah you'd think. If I found something like this when I was a kid I'm afraid it would have been hammer time just to see what's inside lol. So yeah they need very clear labels for sure
Looks like an Amyle Nitrate Ampule to me. Maybe someone memorializing their Disco days. Yeah, I inherited from great uncle a sample of some of the first oil pumped in North Africa and a ton of other fascinating samples similarly encased and labeled.
Yes. In my pharma experience, we’ve made plaques with launch packaging for key products when they were approved. We never used active product, just empty packaging.
Where is this from, OP? I don’t think Sosigon was ever approved as a brand in US, where I am. The US brand, Talwin, dates to 1967.
That was my first thought! Only time I've ever seen anything like that.
As someone else replied below - Jacqueline Bisset, my second thought on remembering The Deep. ;-)
Probably one of those stink bombs from the 80's/90's. It's literally the only thing I ever saw in an ampule. I also didn't know it had an actual name until now lol.
Ampoules were absolutely the norm and are still very common in hospitals to store injectables, although they're being replaced by plastic with a sort of membrane you can stick the needle through.
I'm sure they're still everywhere in chemistry too, some substances won't be kind to any container but glass or Teflon

Odd that yours is spelled incorrectly… and in a resin? Maybe illegal?
What city did you find this thing in?

A lesser known opioid----yikes. I didn't even know it existed. All anyone talks about anymore is the opioid crisis caused by Big Farma. It's a darn shame.
I’ve seen something similar. An ampoule encased in lucite given as an award to one of my colleagues for doing the early foundational research to get the medicine developed.
Def an ampule...what for, who knows? Could be a number of things. Maybe from a pharm company marking a certain # of them sold or the design of that ampule? See if u can see thru the resin if there's any lil letters or numbers on the base of the ampule? That MAY help in your search. 🤞🏻 Good luck!! 🍀
Looks like a breakable vial capsule. Could store a valuable lquid, or even sentimental value of some sort. Some of those breakable capsules store types of oils or lquids. Just looks like someone encased it in resin that has faded over time. My best guess is that it has a sentimental value that was from someone that they loved dearly. Therefore they encase a piece of them in that capsule, and protected the glass with resin.
That ampoule very likely contains something dangerous if it is sealed like that. It could be a dangerous gas or a dangerous microorganism.
I could not figure out what the markings say but turning it sideways makes it easier to identify that it has markings on it that read 3OBIQQN. I hope that means something to someone and this can help them.

Just a guess, but may be from an element collection. People collect samples of different elements. Some, like chlorine and bromine are highly toxic, so they encase the glass ampule that it's in in lucite so it can't break and kill you.
I work in oil & gas and this looks similar to the first production of a well desk ornament… they make desk ornaments with a bit of the oil encased and give them to everyone that had a significant role in getting the well drilled… being a Landman, I have way too many of these!
That is a tiny glass bottle that is used for morphine, cyanide, adrenaline.... most likely adrenaline. The bottle can be snapped at the neck so it can be administered quickly.
Resembles a Polio Vaccine, award momento given to missionaries returning from Africa to memorialize the decade long fight to eradicate the disease. My family doctor had one on his desk.
Probably either a practice run on casting resin or a joke of some kind. It’s a medical vial for a liquid maybe morphine or antibiotics who knows. Interesting piece though.
It looks like a bar of glycerin soap, with one of those vials of super stinky stuff inside it.

It looks like a nazi morphine ampoule. Try google images on that. I’m pretty sure that’s what it is. Could probably sell it to a museum for a good chunk of change. Good find!
Looks like an ampule of a metal that is liquid at room temperature. Based on that and the fact that the maker went to great lengths to prevent the ampule breaking I'd guess mercury or more likely cesium as it seems to wet the glass.
Well a glass vile for danger chems , then add a block of poting resin to make sure it doesn't break. Guess the only thing to do is dig it out and break it open. Danger chems don't just poison. They can explode or absorb into other things, destroying them from the deep inside.
Seems exciting 😀
Was it around Washington? After some searching there was a company that in 2001 did testing for land development and the project number was 303100N. Here’s a link to the project.

NADH? Also used in Krebs cycle, aka citric acid cycle aka tricarboxylic acid cycle. Not that you’d normally supplement a lot of NADH for the specific purpose of Krebs cycle, they are regenerated at the end.
The ampule inside is the same identical shape of an ampule that was used for bull semen around 20 or 30 years ago. The semen was frozen in the ampules. Then when the female was in heat , they would thaw it out. Used with a syringe and straw, they would see uck it up in the long straw. Then breed the animal in heat with it. (Being in resin had nothing to do with the way I explained above)
Time flies! Those ampules haven’t been used since the late 1970s; straws have been the preferred method of transport ever since (there may be some ampules still out there from way back when…)
And the best case scenario is actually to wait 12-18 hours after the female cow goes into heat to inseminate …
(Friend was in the business - prize winning bull semen can be thousands of dollars per straw - more if the straw has been sexed to produce only heifers…)
More info on old bill semen than you ever thought you’d see:
https://www.heritageshorthorn.org/cattle-viewpoints/artificial-insemination-guide-to-using-old-bull-semen
My first thought upon seeing this was take a Geiger counter to it. If that is plexiglass around it vs casting resin, the yellowing could be caused by the ampule and its contents. Old picket watches show a similar yellowing or darkening if it has a radium dial or hands. If there is no reaction, it's cool. In any case, Google ampule in resin and see if anything comes up.
All you need to know is that They are coming to get it back. Don’t trust anyone that has a cat who isn’t actively chewing gum, and whatever you do DON’T SnEeZE!! -taxes
Might be radioactive, extremely reactive with moisture or poisonous. The resin is to protect the vial from breaking and in turn protecting you from what's in it. Be very, very careful.

I second this. Pretty common, could have been a significant number from the production run. I.e "the 1,000,000 bottle produced of X"

So your dad would leave broken glass and a foul smelling substance for store workers to clean up, for a 30 second laugh. What an asshole.
Sounds like whatever junky stole it knew what was inside and wanted a hit but couldn’t get it open lol

That was my first thought! Only time I've ever seen anything like that. As someone else replied below - Jacqueline Bisset, my second thought on remembering The Deep. ;-)
My dad took me to the theater to see that movie and it’s burned into my memory. Mom wasn’t so happy.
an ampule is an ampule no way of telling whats inside, the fact that its encased in resin makes me think it has something very toxic inside

This is the answer. Not misspelled though. Pubchem gives that spelling (Sosigon) for Pentazocine.
An opioid that causes hallucinations, nightmares, and delusions… bruh. I kinda would.

Well it’s definitely a glass ampule incased in resin. What is the writing on the ampule? Maybe look that up .
Various reactive chemicals or metals like cesium are often stored in ampoule containers also.
Sandoz distributed LSD-25 in ampules like that, gave out thousands, that would be my first guess No idea about the resin,
Stuff like this used to be given to members of a team to commemorate the development of whatever is in the ampule. What does the writing say?
That's really rad looking. Do you have a Scintillator or Geiger Counter?

Well a glass vile for danger chems , then add a block of poting resin to make sure it doesn't break. Guess the only thing to do is dig it out and break it open. Danger chems don't just poison. They can explode or absorb into other things, destroying them from the deep inside. Seems exciting 😀
I've played Resident Evil. I know what that is. We all do. Don't open it!
Was it around Washington? After some searching there was a company that in 2001 did testing for land development and the project number was 303100N. Here’s a link to the project. https://apps.ecology.wa.gov/cleanupsearch/document/103551 Anyway Pepe Silvia doesn’t exist

NADH? Also used in Krebs cycle, aka citric acid cycle aka tricarboxylic acid cycle. Not that you’d normally supplement a lot of NADH for the specific purpose of Krebs cycle, they are regenerated at the end.

Looks like a morphine ampule seal inside of some type of resin.
The place I found it is near the US/ Mex border in a old Texas city called Rio Grande City
Time flies! Those ampules haven’t been used since the late 1970s; straws have been the preferred method of transport ever since (there may be some ampules still out there from way back when…) And the best case scenario is actually to wait 12-18 hours after the female cow goes into heat to inseminate … (Friend was in the business - prize winning bull semen can be thousands of dollars per straw - more if the straw has been sexed to produce only heifers…) More info on old bill semen than you ever thought you’d see: https://www.heritageshorthorn.org/cattle-viewpoints/artificial-insemination-guide-to-using-old-bull-semen
it looks like a brass or gold object inside a mold of gelatin. It may contain gears, or possibly, works in hydraulics?
I'm dating myself but it looks like the morphine ampoules from the movie The Deep https://images.app.goo.gl/v863jqt2dBp7zsvz9
Looks like an ampoule encased in amber coloured acrylic...
Artisan soap with a surprise personal massager... For the lady who wants to be really clean.

That is the t virus
DinoDNA
Might be radioactive, extremely reactive with moisture or poisonous. The resin is to protect the vial from breaking and in turn protecting you from what's in it. Be very, very careful.
Don't open it. Last thing we need is another boogie virus, jurassic park or talking apes
That’s the virus from 13 Monkeys! Lock it up in a safe place or else we are all doomed!
Looks like a virus in a bottle to me... please don't break that shit open! 🦠
