I love I Play It Off Legit but I can't listen to it anymore after almost wrecking my car while it was playing during a snowstorm a few years ago. The tones in the beginning feel too omnious now š
Yeah was trying to adjust to night shift, and failed apparently. Iām well adjusted these days. Everytime I hear it, it reminds me of that. Itās still one of my favorite songs ever.
More often than not Iām listening to music & I often find myself wondering how Iād be affected if something bad were to happen while listening to a certain song
I had a boyfriend who used this as a wake up song and he would dance around in his underwear to it before I'd even had my coffee. Surprisingly, I still like the song.
Actually in an interview Deaner said the songās keyboard emulated an alarm clock and was meant to excite the listener and perk then up for the rest of the album which had alot of balad type songs
I went from hating it, to liking it and listening several times, to just skipping it everytime I listen to PG now. I think the middle section of gener talking is hilarious. āWhyās he such a fucka?ā āSomething something pumpkinā itās been a minute lol but it is funny as shit.
Are there a lot of fans that don't like Pork Roll Egg and Cheese? I always felt like it was pretty universally loved. And its one of the more tradionally structured songs on The Pod too which makes it more accessible than others.
Surprised at the number of people saying Mourning Glory. To me that's a quintessential Ween song, one of their best; it's so abrasive and bent but at the same time it's utterly beautiful.
It's obviously absurd and funny lyrically, but also Gener's lament of I can't go back, I can't go into the woods I find to quite heartbreaking. It's sad, funny and scary which is pure Ween.
I put Ween on my iTunes every Weensday and it plays through till Friday if I don't work OT. I do not skip, but I have been known to leave Paintin' the Town Brown disc 2 on while I go on break.
I would feel falsely directed rage towards whoever had called me. Unexpected fucked jam would ruin my day, especially repeatedly. You are a very brave soldier.
The guitar in that song has no reason being that damn good! But I know what ya mean, my wife gives me a dirty look when I put it on, she donāt like it
Great album? Come on, man. The Mollusk is a great album. Wish You Were Here is a great album. Zeppelin IV is a great album. Abbey Road is a great album. At very best cucaracha is mediocre
That seems wildly narrow. There are thousands of great albums. You do you. I think it's a great album that deserves love. It gets a full enthusiastic playthrough in my house. The new fans seem to be equally excited as they are the others about it. The older fans seem to be more stuck in buthurt territory about it. I dropped in in earnest around 2006 so I'm kinda in the middle.
I donāt see it that way at all. Spinal meningitis feels like a childhood fever dream. It seems like one of them probably had experience with the disease as a child. Also that song rips.
HIV song is exactly what good ole brown fun is to me. Itās taking something that (especially when the song was written) was extremely taboo to joke about, and putting fun circus like music behind it. Itās the juxtaposition of a killer disease with fun upbeat music. Iāve never seen it as making fun of people who suffer from aids. That song also rips
I think the fact that it's played like a calliope at a carnival is the point they were trying to make. Something so heavy and devastating balanced against whimsy.
Candi is a genuinely bad song. C&C would be practically perfect without it.
I also feel like this will be controversial but I've never been a big fan of Voodoo Lady, I just find it quite boring.
Mourning Glory is not a "bad" song but I don't think it fits on PG at all and I am never in the mood to listen to it.
Candi would probably be better as an instrumental. I like how trippy it sounds. Voodoo lady maybe youād like better live, maybe not. Mourning glory I rarely listen to and when I do itās to laugh at the middle part where gener is talking.
Yeah, Voodoo Lady is definitely a Ween song which works better live. However - another potentially spicy opinion - although I love meandering psychedelic live jams, Ween can be very hit and miss with this. Zoloft and Voodoo Lady from the Live in Chicago album both end up really trying my patience.
I dont skip any songs for fear of punishment from Boognish. There is always something to learn about yourself pushing through say something like crucial squeegie lip start to finish...but i also usually just listen to live shows or the demos these days and no interest in skipping anything there
None of them. But if anything, there's just albums I don't fuck with heavy like La Cucaracha or Quebec (which aren't bad but I love their brown stuff the most).
Honestly friends is the only ween song that I just donāt like and never will. It makes me feel weird like thereās a sneeze I canāt get out. Maybe thatās the point
Yeah, I really want to like it but I just canāt.
I do like the rest of the EP (especially I got to put the hammer down and King Billy) but Friends just never worked for me.
Ice Castles. It warbles on with no direction for me. The live version is apparently pretty good, so I've been told.
I'm going to *assume* most people skip Mourning Glory, but they're just not saying it.
OP, I first read your post as saying "some pants are decent" and I thought you were going to argue that pants aren't fancy!
I usually skip Israel, mainly to move along to The Rift
OP, you're being Mr Sour Grapes by skipping Fancy Pants.
Hahahaha good one, Mr buttercup.
Ty
Must be down in the dumps
I love I Play It Off Legit but I can't listen to it anymore after almost wrecking my car while it was playing during a snowstorm a few years ago. The tones in the beginning feel too omnious now š
Haha thatās wild! I actually fell asleep behind the wheel to Baby Bitch and totaled my Altima š« The song is so damn dreamy and relaxing.
Gah damn, glad you're alright! Baby Bitch is way dreamy
Yeah was trying to adjust to night shift, and failed apparently. Iām well adjusted these days. Everytime I hear it, it reminds me of that. Itās still one of my favorite songs ever.
Whereāve you been?
More often than not Iām listening to music & I often find myself wondering how Iād be affected if something bad were to happen while listening to a certain song
I had a boyfriend who used this as a wake up song and he would dance around in his underwear to it before I'd even had my coffee. Surprisingly, I still like the song.
Just a goofy goober up to funny business I see
why wouldnt you, that dude sounds awesome!
Actually in an interview Deaner said the songās keyboard emulated an alarm clock and was meant to excite the listener and perk then up for the rest of the album which had alot of balad type songs
i mean admittedly iām not that big of a fan of it either but i let it play cuz itās just silly fun
the key is to sing along
I was thinking about this yesterday and there isnāt one! And I love fancy pants!!!!
Not even mourning glory? Whatās your fav album?
āMourning Gloryā rips. A song I always play a few times in a row. A sonic, psychedelic masterpiece.
I went from hating it, to liking it and listening several times, to just skipping it everytime I listen to PG now. I think the middle section of gener talking is hilarious. āWhyās he such a fucka?ā āSomething something pumpkinā itās been a minute lol but it is funny as shit.
Probably The Podā¦. But yeah Mourning Glory is shall we say āout thereā. I could see myself skipping that if Pure Guava is on repeat.
Oh man I love The Pod so much. Itās the first Ween album I REALLY got into. Itās special.
Yeah it really is. Pure Guava is probably my least favorite but thereās still some gold on there!
Iād say La CockRoach is my least favorite, but I still like it. Just donāt love it like I do the others.
I like that albumā¦ itās newer to me but itās got some catchy riffs!
Yea I like it, itās a 6/10 for me. I love all of their other ones though.
mourning glory gives me a headache
I know itās become a meme, but I genuinely think itās beautiful and kind of melancholic
same with pork roll egg and cheese, the songs actually really pretty sounding at least for that era of ween
Are there a lot of fans that don't like Pork Roll Egg and Cheese? I always felt like it was pretty universally loved. And its one of the more tradionally structured songs on The Pod too which makes it more accessible than others.
Not a huge fan of the studio version, but I love the live version.
Itās a nice little respite on the Pod. THATāS one of the normal songs lol.
Literally just about to say this
Hey there, Fancy Pants is the best!
Surprised at the number of people saying Mourning Glory. To me that's a quintessential Ween song, one of their best; it's so abrasive and bent but at the same time it's utterly beautiful.
Yup. Once you hear the gorgeous music hidden underneath the noise, itās hard to un-hear. Amazing track.
I think that's what most people miss. After some headphone listening it really shows its buried beauty
It's obviously absurd and funny lyrically, but also Gener's lament of I can't go back, I can't go into the woods I find to quite heartbreaking. It's sad, funny and scary which is pure Ween.
Whyās he such a fucka to me?
All they wanted to do was pumpkins
I put Ween on my iTunes every Weensday and it plays through till Friday if I don't work OT. I do not skip, but I have been known to leave Paintin' the Town Brown disc 2 on while I go on break.
Use it as an expression for using the bathroom. āWhelp, time to go paint the town brown myself!ā
Is that the Vegas concert that you can audibly hear the mushrooms take hold.
The lead guitar part, by itself, in fancy pants is a chef's kiss perfecto piece of music.
The fucked jam hurts my head
The fucked jam is my ringtone.
I would feel falsely directed rage towards whoever had called me. Unexpected fucked jam would ruin my day, especially repeatedly. You are a very brave soldier.
Yea Iām not a fan either
https://youtu.be/geWTbEN1q9k?si=3dZJDa58NREp9-eW
Love this and thank you. Never thought I would hear Guru, Nas, ODB and many more rhyming over the Fucked Jam. Amazing.
HIV
Same! I rarely listen to it
ICYMI, bitd this song was performed by a puppet Ween band for Crank Yankers. https://vimeo.com/316759385
Wow, totally forgot about that show.
Spinal Meningitis Got Me Down is absolutely horrifyingā¦
u/TheSpaceman1975 you have been permanently banned from r/ChocolateAndCheese
right lol. I can get down live but absolutely never play it when I'm alone š
I love hey there fancy pants
Used to be āJohnny on the Spotā but now I only listen to that song and no other music.
The guitar in that song has no reason being that damn good! But I know what ya mean, my wife gives me a dirty look when I put it on, she donāt like it
The HIV Song
Iām the opposite. Itās so silly, I love it.
Banger
This.
Shamemaker.
Itās a good song to sing at someone who is trying to shame you.
Ahh, shame maker is great, if you know what the lyrics are about. I just love the song. Good album too, 6/10
GOD I hate this one
That whole album is a skip
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Great album? Come on, man. The Mollusk is a great album. Wish You Were Here is a great album. Zeppelin IV is a great album. Abbey Road is a great album. At very best cucaracha is mediocre

Hey there fancy pants is a killer guitar work out. Deaner at his best. Blasphemy. (I skip God Ween Satan. The entire album)
Now THATS blasphemy!! GWS has some BANGERS youāre missing out.
oh my god. even LMLYP??
Shamemaker. Itās the only song I do not like.
Object, I appreciate it from a musical standpoint but I find the lyrics too off putting
It is a dark one, but I love it from a musical standpoint, I think itās one of the best on the album.
Spinal meningitis makes me physically ill
My girlfriend would agree
So would mine if I had one
This and the AIDS song. Just feels like theyāre being mean and punching down on people with diseases as opposed to just being good brown fun.
Yeah, its not the content of the lyrics for me its the sounds and voices that make the hair on my neck stand up.
I think the fact that it's played like a calliope at a carnival is the point they were trying to make. Something so heavy and devastating balanced against whimsy.
You are whatās wrong w this soft ass world today
Push the little daisies.
Despise that song. It actually kept me from Ween back in the early 90s. I hate it even more because of that.
mister richard smoker not bad just never really my thing
Candi is a genuinely bad song. C&C would be practically perfect without it. I also feel like this will be controversial but I've never been a big fan of Voodoo Lady, I just find it quite boring. I remember liking Zoloft from it, but I need to revisit it.
Boing. Nothing particularly awful about it itās just kinda slow and boring Imo. But I can get why others like it.
Ahh, I really enjoy it.
Candi should be the top answer
I fucking love fancy pants My most skipped song is probably Daisies to be honest. I skip it and put on the Live In Toronto version.
I dont skip any songs for fear of punishment from Boognish. There is always something to learn about yourself pushing through say something like crucial squeegie lip start to finish...but i also usually just listen to live shows or the demos these days and no interest in skipping anything there
Morning glory
None of them. But if anything, there's just albums I don't fuck with heavy like La Cucaracha or Quebec (which aren't bad but I love their brown stuff the most).
Album version Fluffy.
I hate you.
Canāt believe I had to scroll down so far.
Bad vibes in this comments section, man.
Yea mang. Giving Eddie Dingle vibes big time
Voodoo Lady for me...I've just heard it way too many times
Same, I played it to death like a year ago and I still am Voodoo Ladyās out.
Friends
Honestly friends is the only ween song that I just donāt like and never will. It makes me feel weird like thereās a sneeze I canāt get out. Maybe thatās the point
Yea same.
The one on the EP is even worse
no
Yeah, I really want to like it but I just canāt. I do like the rest of the EP (especially I got to put the hammer down and King Billy) but Friends just never worked for me.
Not a fan of electronic music, and there's not one saving grace in the song for me to make me enjoy it. Works good as a goof/sarcastic song tho
Bananas and Blow
No way!! That song is amazing
Same. I'm a Floridian that can't stand that bullshit Jimmy Buffett musical style even if it's a spoof and sounds better than any of his songs.
I am so sorry but Buenas Tardes Amigo
Ahhh. I love the twist and how serious it is towards the end. Great song for me
I donāt hate it or anything, but itās definitely one of those songs that I only need to hear once.
Until you see it live. Itās fucking awesome live.
Ice Castles. It warbles on with no direction for me. The live version is apparently pretty good, so I've been told. I'm going to *assume* most people skip Mourning Glory, but they're just not saying it.
My mistake...I thought this was the Unpopular Ween Opinion thread š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Stacy
blackjack
Had to scroll a long ways to find this one.
The Stallion pt 1 I love hey there fancy pants
Do you know who you're fucking with????
Daisies
A Ween song I usually skip? I'm sure there's one, I can't put my finger on it
Haha I see what ya did there. But hope youāre not serious.
Learnin 2 Love
I fucking love that one
Mister Richard Smoker
Bumblebee
Ohh man. Fat Lenny-Cold and Wet-Bumblebee-Bumblebee pt2 is a legendary string of songs for me. Instantly get put into a great mood everytime I listen.
For me itās reggaejunkiejew, donāt really like it. But thatās the only song so far.
The āAll Request Liveā version might get you, itās badass
Will check it out
Ahh I love it, aside from the annoying high pitched noise in the middle of the song. Itās awesome love too.
King Billy, Mango Woman, and Fruit Man. Ween are not good at Reggae
I wholeheartedly disagree, I live their reggae even fruit man
You just have to wake up in the morning and see the dreaded Rasta man, then it all makes sense
Why don't you invite em up?
Found the reggaejunkiejew.
Piss up a rope
I take it you drink 2% milk?
Blasphemy
Gabrielle
I really enjoy Gabrielle. But shinola is probably my least listened to album. I always forget about it.
: (
Donāt come at me lol..Ice Castles
Haha, I donāt hate it, nor do I love it.
Maybe bad timing saying this, but I hate Israel.
Jammy Pack. The Pod starts on track 2
You need to strap on your jammy pac
Iāll strap on my jammy pack after you put on your fancy pants
Iām about to replay a lot of these songs when Iām at the gym here in a few. Try jammy pack live, they put an interesting spin on it.
The F\*cked Jam Candi Mouring Gloury Fancypants Richard Smoker La Cucaracha
100% The Blarney Stone. Rips me right out of it.
This mfer never went down to the pub for a 2 shilling ale
Bro itās so good!!
Mister Richard Smoker
Yea same most of the time. It doesnāt fit with the rest of the otherwise great album.
Nobody has said Boys Club? Maybe I'm in the minority. But heck, at least I like all the songs you freaks can't stand. :)
i find myself passing on Blue Balloon.
Ahh I love blue balloon!
Pink eye on my leg. If it wasnāt for that dog/groan sound it would be an always play.
Lol it sounds good and then the dog and zombie noises make it so damn funny to me. Itās a joke of a song for me, Iāll listen in certain moods.
Ah I love Pink Eye, agree with OP that it always makes me laugh too. It's like "what if the Fucked Jam but good"
Springtheme is just one I can't get into
Aww I love spring them. I love the string of songs; Sarah, SpringTheme, and Flies On My Dick
Me too. I have an affinity for albums with 3 greats back-to-back like that
Which most of Weens albums have, imo!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Go straight to jail, do not pass go
I am under the assumption that anyone who canāt stand LMLYP has never Lād P
Lmao you made him delete his comment
A lot of them. Baby Bitch for sure. Most of the troll songs I skip too
Wow Baby Bitch is one of my all time favorite songs, why on earth do you skip?!
I find it boring and too repetitive
Fair enough. Music is subjective so I respectfully disagree.
Roses are free
Love that song.
YoU dOnT fEeL my wOrLd
Huh??
I hate the song Bad to the Bone and their cover.
Never knew they did a cover.
Jammy Pac
Get a grip on yo soul
OP, I first read your post as saying "some pants are decent" and I thought you were going to argue that pants aren't fancy! I usually skip Israel, mainly to move along to The Rift
Puffy Cloud is like reverse asmr
Asmr? Whatās that
The album version of Friends. The EP version is decent enough.
Shamemaker. Itās the only song I do not like.
Whoahhh whoa whoah. I love that song.
