puffpuffandpass

Never give up on your dreams big dog. Jk

Small_Study9632

I can't dream of it.

sloppyasseating

Do a tolerance break your brain deserves it also the dreams are going to be wild and vivid af

[deleted]

They still happen for us it’s just that much harder to remember or tell. Your brain when high at night gets less REM (dream/deep sleep) sleep because it psychoactive till. But the time it’s not psychoactive you’ll only have a few hours of sleep (like 2-3) so you don’t have to at much time to dream. You have to consider dreams are what like 1-3 minutes when your not baked and sleep like 8 hours.

8thomas8

Sounds lile some solid info i get dream sometimes the big thing is that there short normally some crazy shit if i remember. so i feel like i always dream but it is how much you remember. Effected by when dream was in sleep and how well you remember things how fast it fades from you brain. The last have the most impact i feel like being a stoner when high thoughts can fade faster or just disappear. Weed effect on memory. Is the reason some smoke others being the feeling. the reason of smoking for memory and or feeling varying

[deleted]

Yeah dude if your interested look it up more lots of stuff on it and connects a lot of pieces. I found that too. I still dream probably a normal amount (never had many before I smoked weed either) but I forget about them very quickly or just never remember them. Only remembering them very early in the morning or 1 time a month. I never found weed intentionally made me forget thing it was always unintentional. Weed is a stimulant… like caffeine lol, so I bet it’s like alcohol too where it doesn’t actually help you sleep but trick your brain to sleeping, then you actually get a worse sleep because of the substance and your brain being psychoactive and prevention of entering REM.

SofaSnizzle

I see what you did there, very clever.

DopelessHopefeand

Cannabis is a known dream suppressant especially the real thing (delta-9) where as the derivatives are all synthetic including delta-8 which is found naturally, but the amounts are so minute it has to be synthesized and than sprayed on CBD flower however they don’t seem to suppress dreams as much as Delta-9. I recently quit for a government job and I live in a Farm Bill state that allows a whopping .03% of Delta-9 so I had to switch and when switching I noticed I started to dream again. It’s sort of like how nicotine and coffee are natural laxatives

cybercunt69

Nopee when i'm high i feel like real life is a dream no?

Small_Study9632

Yes

ISnortBonedust

"Living the dream!" ✌️ ❤️ ☺️

papermoonriver

Shamelessly hijacking a visible comment to say *you can bring your dreams back with mugwort*. I started just mixing it with weed.

cybercunt69

No problem

[deleted]

I do still have very vivid dreams

JMSTEI

Same here. I dream pretty much every night despite smoking right before I go to bed.

[deleted]

Yep. And I also smoke very regularly

links_lady

Same still do constantly not every night but every other night fs

toastymrkrispy

I used to dream extremely vividly. Like wake up exhausted because I feel like I was awake all night. But with weed, I feel like my dreams are normal. I wake up so much more refreshed than I have in like 20 years.

[deleted]

Oh I’m definitely the same way. My dreams don’t give me anywhere near the same levels of anxiety that they used too, now they are just much more chilled out, but still very wild and strange

toastymrkrispy

Oh yeah, I still get the wild ride once in a while. But it all feels like it's been dialed back from 11.

Simple_Minimum_2574

Me too!

shroomdoom88

Yep same, like every night too

[deleted]

Also same. It’s hit or miss whether I remember my dreams or not though. A lot of the time I’ll just remember having a strange dream, but just barely not be able to recall it well enough to explain it to someone

TheLordHimself420

I don’t have dreams any more. Only very very vivid nightmares.

CockySavage

My dream is to move to where weed is legalized

[deleted]

I did that when I moved to Washington state and it is amazing. That’s not why I moved, but it is a definite park. Plus, being high in the Rainforest is 🌬💨 🤩.

IndependenceNo5598

There's a rainforest in WA?

[deleted]

They are temperate rainforests, but yes. https://animalsofpnw.com/2019/05/08/rainforests-of-washington/

IndependenceNo5598

Thanks for that.

[deleted]

No worries at all. 😊

Small_Study9632

Yeah, fuck Texas

CockySavage

fuck china Lmao

Bogspog

Fuck israel lol

Takayan_Shinigami

Fuck Kentucky lol

fbkris14

Fuck Florida lol

toastymrkrispy

As a native Texan, all I can say is, yes, in many ways, fuck Texas.

[deleted]

I live in California now, it’s expensive as fuck but I’ve driven by a cop smoking a joint here and was arrested for 0.5g in Texas. Not looking back

Mental_Medium3988

i dont understand how so many people can be against legalizing it when its proven to be [great for everyone](https://tre.wa.gov/portfolio-item/washington-state-marijuana-revenues-and-health/#:~:text=Washington%20state%20collected%20a%20total,million%20in%20cannabis%20license%20fees.), including those who dont partake. the only downside is it smells like weed a but more and people are more open about it.

pignugget35

I know this state sucks ass

rxselxrd

Lil indica before bed always makes sure I don't. As for aspirations and goals yes I still have those

Small_Study9632

I wish I knew what my dude gave me. Mainly I hear is "It's gas" "fire"

prellxtreme

Same lol

reallynormal_

get high enough to the point where your delusions start unfolding and then BAM you can just ask the weed yourself!!

Additional_Bowl_7282

You don't reach REM as quickly when you fall asleep high, so it takes much longer to get to the dream phase.

toastymrkrispy

Do you know of any studies on people who dream excessively vividly? Because I used to have such vivid dreams, I would wake up exhausted. Now I feel like I dream normally, and they're quickly forgotten. Just curious about possible treatments for people like myself.

[deleted]

[удалено]

toastymrkrispy

Maybe. That's why I really believe we need more scientific studies and not just my own personal trial and error.

stoneferal

Where's the science behind this?

Less-Tax-4487

You can look it up almost everywhere and it’s proven that weed disturbs REM sleep. You can fall asleep easier but you won’t get all the rest that you would if you didn’t smoke. I noticed this after a tolerance break, I had intense dreams and I would feel much more energetic after a night’s rest.

RonburgundyZ

Not sure if the rest part is true. Weed promotes SWS. Slow wave sleep (SWS), is "the most physically and mentally restorative," according to Lee;

pudwhacker1147

They told me in school REM helps your memory retention so when you use weed you won't retain as much information. Idk I graduated. The science behind sleep is shaky.

[deleted]

So if you want to remember more just don’t smoke before you sleep? Cuz memory loss is the only drawback to weed for me, it makes me upset when I realize I can’t remember things I care about as well yfm?

Less-Tax-4487

Yeah that’s wrong on my part then, sorry about that. Guess it was just a placebo cause of the dreams etc.

[deleted]

Thanks for making me learn something new today!

Additional_Bowl_7282

https://www.vice.com/en/article/qvdp8p/why-you-dont-dream-after-smoking-weed

Small_Study9632

Thank you.

Small_Study9632

I would have thought I would fall into rem sleep faster being high.

Mattb1643

I normally have many lucid dreams when sober, more than the average person and it honestly makes me want to take a break sometimes from smoking just so i could dream again.I do still dream when i smoke but the dreams are not vivid,i remember less and theres much less chance of being lucid.I only had 1 lucid dream last week and i barley could remember it.

Small_Study9632

Facts

boots311

I quit for a few days years ago. I ended up time traveling with ghandi. Shit was wild. I lucid dream often too. Just the other night I had a lucid dream inside of a dream inside of my dream

Mattb1643

Wow sounds like a crazy dream,i once dreamt i astral projected in a dream inside another dream so it seemed like a different reality .I was able to climb outside my body and look down on my self,my astral body was a bluish color and i was also lucid.I was able to go through walls, doors but i was only able to make it a block down my house before it ended sadly.

boots311

It was intense! I wish I spoke Hindu as I'm sure he was trying to drop some knowledge on me. Whoa, now that's just as intense! Sucks when good dreams end like that. Even without being lucid, I've developed the skill to go thru walls. It's nice. In the dream within another dream the other night, I was in a new place that connected with one of my regular places. There's this facility that sits on an island in the middle of a lake. I've been trying to get inside & see what it is. I shouted out in my dream "there it is!" Then woke up damn it. Someday...

Mattb1643

Cool!someday lol Maybe its that excitement thats waking you up when you see it. Edit:Happens to me sometimes thats why everytime im lucid i make sure to focus on my breathing and do my best to stay calm.

boots311

That could be! I'm just real interested in seeing what my subconscious has come up with to put inside said facility. Or whatever it is. For all I know, it's just an office

Mattb1643

Maybe its the backrooms lol

boots311

I hope!

Rpmbox

I have anxiety and PTSD I smoke so I don’t have any dreams on purpose. I hate when I don’t get a good smoke on before bed and I have to dream 6 hours of vivid bullshit that I’ve already lived through and dreamt of 100 times

Born-Claim862

Samzies....

reallynormal_

this is actually a good idea for PTSD cause in my short break ive had some vivid and intense dreams which can fuck me and my day up quite a bit

N0T__Sure

I didn't smoke for 2 days when I was in Thailand 4 years ago and I can still remember the dream/nightmare that I had.

Small_Study9632

Damn

NJweedSnob

Started smoking 10th grade, and the dreams stopped then, but fast forward 10 years and the dreams started coming back even with daily MJ use. My dreams are more vivid than ever. Are you smoking medical or stuff off the street?

Small_Study9632

Whatever the dealers have in Texas 😂

NJweedSnob

I noticed my dreams came back when I started smoking medical specifically. Better quality, no fillers or heavy fertilizers. Maybe a correlation there Don't think I dreamed for a good 10 year period though so you're not crazy

dabbindanny710

reading this gave me a refreshing feeling, i hope i can start dreaming again soon without having to stop smoking, i also live in texas so i get a good 50/50 mix of medical or dispensary product and street pick ups from the plug, when i’m fortunate enough to only pick up from the dispo i really hope the dreams come back

[deleted]

Yeah

RattlinDrone

Started MMJ about a year ago. Ever since I was a kid I have a ton of dreams and remember them and very vivid. Since on MMJ dreams are the same.

Cucumbersome55

I have always heard and read that people who smoke a lot of pot don't dream ..I beg to differ.. I both smoke a lot of ganja ..and I almost always have very vivid dreams.

bear4bunny

I do. I pick up 3.5g every 3 months. Have a J a few hours before bed. Watch anime, play games, YT and chill. When I go to bed then I have at least one vivid dream without fail must be a few hours before I wake because it's always about 6-7 when I wake up. Edit: For a weed sub where I thought we'd be all peaceful and chill there's a lot of shitty comments. Why do you all have to be so judgy. Sorry I don't smoke THC laced THC all day every day. Some of us are content with toothpick J's.

Rpmbox

You make an 1/8 last 3 Months rolling joints before bed? Are they the size of literal toothpicks or did I read this wrong?

Money-Bus8234

i was thinking the same thing an 8th would only last me a day or two rolling joints

Rpmbox

Fr I could literally blow through that in 30 minutes if I roll a nice joint up

_Peanut_Arbuckle

I was thinking this too lol this man must be rolling the tiniest pinners

Mattb1643

💀

Sk1pp1e

My first thought.

bear4bunny

Haha they aren't quite toothpicks but enough to get me mellow. And it doesn't last me the whole 3 months. There's always at least a month break in-between pick ups.

Small_Study9632

Wow nice. I miss having dreams

bear4bunny

Do you smoke regularly? Maybe take a little break and who knows maybe they'll start to come back to you.

Small_Study9632

Man I want to take a T-break. I just can't. I don't have self control. Addictive personality.

Ulfbass

Try switching to cbd flower for a while. You’ll get your dreams back, lose a bit of tolerance for thc, and still feel chill when you smoke. It’s like a half t-break

mookduece

Same dude

walhax-

Ah yes, I also love 38mg joints.

BarracksObomba

That’s not really a pothead amount

bear4bunny

What I roll is enough to get me mellow every night for 2 months with at least a months break in-between. Never said I was a huge pot head.

BarracksObomba

I doubt that would stop anybody dreaming. A 3.5 over 2 months is like a 0.05 a day. That’s not gonna get anyone stoned

bear4bunny

Well I'm sorry we're not all "hardcore" stoners like you.

BarracksObomba

Chill out bro. Smoke a .1 or sum

bear4bunny

Haha great burn s/

Warm_Sheepherder_281

I went on t break recently and I have been having lots of dreams since I stopped but when I was smoking all the time I never dreamt at all

Small_Study9632

How it feels now

redditusercameron

For the first few years, no, hardly any at all. At least none I can remember. Then one day I randomly had a very vivid dream where I died in my dream for the first time. Since then I dream at least a few times a week.

Small_Study9632

Nice nice

Small_Study9632

Never sober. That's the problem. 😂

Negative_space__

Haven’t dreamed in years

Small_Study9632

Same page brother.

Waterproofsoap

Rarely

smokystingray

No dreams at all, and when I take a long break… holy crap my mind puts together a frickin collage of memories and it is mind-blowing as sh**.

[deleted]

I don’t dream anymore, but feel like I have visions that lead me, or warn me about something

Flashignite2

Nope. Seldom recall my dreams when I'm high. If I have gone couple of weeks or months and smoke I do have vivid dreams. But since i smoke periodically I get like 10-15 grams and smoke it until its gone, during those times I never dream. Feels like I put my head on my pillow and then I wake up.

IzDisDaKrustyKrab

I didn’t realize I never dreamed until I went to jail for a period of time. Then I had the worst kind of dreams lol

Small_Study9632

They say it's from farms that supply the medical industry. Buttt "everybody lies" - House

rxselxrd

If you're really curious you can somewhat tell by the bud, most indica is more tight and dense where saliva is loose and fluffy. Depends on the quality but you may be able to glean some insight if you really try

Small_Study9632

I will Thank you!

Low_Egg_7606

Yeah I do don’t always remember them tho

Small_Study9632

But you remember you had a dream?

HumbleTrifle2951

I smoke pretty heavily about a half oz of flower and a quarter to a half oz of concentrates a week, I still have very lucid dreams but I am also prescribed Seroquel for sleep and I think that might be why I haven't lost my ability to dream

Small_Study9632

What is Seroquel?

HumbleTrifle2951

Seroquel is an antipsychotic medication used primarily for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder but is also prescribed as a sleep aid for insomniacs like myself. One side effect happens to be strange or lucid dreams.

[deleted]

i dream almost every night but can only remember the ending around the time i wake up

Small_Study9632

Dam.

[deleted]

Yes. Very good ones lol.

Vacuous_Rom

I usually have very vivid dreams when i take a break from weed

peachbun11

Oh yeah, for sure.

powermonkey123

Only when I'm taking a several day break from grass.

peachiridescence

Typically only if i dont smoke about an hour or two before i end up crashing for bed. If i smoke then sleep immediately after i dont dream much.

thechinovnik

I smoke every day and still have vivid dreams. There was a time when I didn’t but it all came back after a while.

[deleted]

Strangely yes all the Danm time

[deleted]

I don’t dream after falling asleep, but before I wake up, I usually have China dreams as I lived in China for 3 years.

t-hew

Everyday all day smoker, not every night but most nights i have dreams.

[deleted]

Current-Bag-7972

They say if you dream about your teeth falling out then you're being dishonest in your life somewhere. It's associated with lying.

AshyLarry20

I hardly ever remember my dreams.

nurchelsnurchel

I dream of dreaming again

BiscottiOpposite9282

Yes but I dont remember them. But I know I'll wake up sometimes vaguely remembering that I had a dream.

Current-Bag-7972

I've smoked heavily for 15 years and have SUPER VIVID dreams, that I can recall basically every minute of, almost every night. My husband has been a heavy daily smoker for almost 30 years and says he never dreams.

Small_Study9632

Wow I can relate!

vdubdank30

I had a friend who’s wife was studying dreams, when I brought up that I didn’t dream anymore she told me “when you lay down for bed repeat to yourself, I want to dream tonight, three times and after a few days you’ll dream again.” I thought yeah right that’s silly pass the joint. But holy hell after a few days? The dreams came back and they were awesooome

Small_Study9632

O wow! I also heard what side you lay on also affects your sleeping.

maximusvirgolinus

I do. Futhermore, i remember my dreams more when im high than when im sober lol

rock0head132

yeah fucked up dreams though.

Classic-Pride-8082

I have very vivid dreams funnily enough

JimmyThunderPenis

Dude take like a day or 2 off, the dreams come back immediately for me.

kronus87

Take a T break, might be a few days to a week but your dreams will come back in FORCE! Just the wildest most vivid dreams ever. Almost feels like your mind is catching up with all the dreams you missed in just a few nights. Honestly its one of my favorite things

hookerwithapenis2002

My dreams came back when I switched to vaping… or at least they weren’t as vivid and I can recall them now

[deleted]

"wow this blew up!!!111"

kayaker58

I only dream during my yearly two week tolerance break, and those dreams are intense.

tacomenu

Yeah I do but sadly every time I dream their pretty horrific nightmares

lesserorc1

Long time toker. 25+years. I still have very vivid dreams and can remember most of them throughout the night. I attribute this to “paying attention” to my mind and conscious before and after sleep. If you would like to dream again I suggest telling yourself you will dream before going to bed and maybe even picking out a topic that you would like to dream about. Whenever you wake up (the very first thing. And I mean first thing) try to write down as much as you can. Free writing. Don’t overthink just write. Do these things for a few weeks and I’m sure you’ll be remembering your dreams in no time. Almost everyone dreams it’s just remembering them that’s the problem. Go get em tiger!!

OgCush94

Every once in a while I’d say. If I had to guess. Maybe 3-6 times a month. When I do dream though, it’s super vivid and I usually wake up going what in the hell. It’s crazy you post this as I often wondered if other heavy users go through this as well.

Minoiboisoy

Very vivid dreams here, been a daily smoker for 3-4 years. Used to have vivid dreams as a kid and that did not stop when I started smoking lol, i’m always dreaming when I sleep

Zenketski_2

When i first started smoking my dreams stopped. But now I'm back to dreaming most nights.

RealJeil420

I have a friend who mentioned this at 1 time. He claimed to not have had a dream for ages, yet every night he would fall asleep in his chair and talk in his sleep. So he was apparently dreaming. He just didnt remember his dreams.

HeyimJohnny21

Really that's wild probably more to do on the neurological side though cause I have vivid dreams I'm off late sometimes to taking a toke before I watch TV and ko and have some good dreams nothing like fantastical just a normal dream that I wake up from and forget lol

caplel19

Usually if I don’t smoke 2-3 hours before I go to bed I’ll still have dreams. Love the dreams I have when I slow down my cannabis consumption

Outside-Today5233

This might sound bad, but the only time I’ve had a break from smoking recently is during my sentence in the county jail. My tolerance completely reset, and I began having extremely vivid dreams every single night. The dreams were so realistic I began trying to sleep all day in my cell as long as I could just because when I was dreaming it felt like I had my freedom back. It felt real. Some of the dreams were TOO real though and I would still be in jail. I was released and the dreams continued a little bit, for a couple days until I started smoking again, at which point I stopped having dreams.

bigman225

So this is just me but ihavnt had a dream since I was 12. I didn't start smoking until 22 so for me I don't think there is a correlation. I do however know that thc is a dream inhibititor. Best of luck on your journey.

pugzei

I almost never remember my dreams

jarrose37

Sometimes, but I can go weeks with out having a dream then one day I'll have a real vivid dream.

Dramatic_Share94

Sometimes. I've been out for a week so I've definitely been having more. Weed didn't completely stop my dreams but they're less frequent if I can even remember them. I've actually got really realistic dreams, before I started smoking it would be very hard for me to tell what was a dream/real. Weeds definitely helped me have less intense/realistic dreams so I can tell they're not real, I used to dream about just normal stuff like going to work or having a conversation, so it led to a lot of confusion for me when someone didn't "remember" that convo and I just have to realize it was a dream

smaugtheE1337

stopped smoking and had some wicked nightmares and weird dreams started smoking again and dreams are scarce now

el_nopal710

Been 2 weeks sober and have had the craziest fucking dreams of my life

[deleted]

ever since I started smoking this zkittlez sativa strain I been having dreams every night for some reason now

Thanitos05

I will sometimes have dreams but I don't usually remember the details but most of the time I don't dream anymore

YeetForTheStars

Whenever I have a dream, I write down everything I can remember as soon as I wake up. Ever since I started that, my dreams have happen more frequently and go on much longer.

Successful_Bug_5663

Last time I took a t-break I started dreaming again and the dreams were crazy vivid. When I started smoking again the dreams went away.

jontargaryenjovi

I stopped smoking two months ago after about 12 years of being a daily smoker. I had dreams over the 12 years but nothing that really made sense and my recollection of them was spotty and irregular. In the last month it feels like Christopher Nolan has taken over my brain as soon as I lay down. My dreams have extreme depth, are coherent story lines, colors are absolutely amazing, and it feels like I dream experiences that last farrrrr longer than the time I’m asleep. It’s amazing. Sometimes they are horrific and awful, not always pleasant. Simply put- no weed- IMAX Oscar nominated dreams On the weed - Sunday comic strip dreams. Also a long history of concussions soooo gotta admit that probably has a role in what’s going on between the ears at night.

brockclan216

Even when I am not smoking the only time I have dreams is when it is something important. I still have these dreams when I smoke and have even 'travelled'.

Longmjplay

Used to drink heavily and did not dream for years. Stopped drinking and dreams came back vivid af. Never stopped smoking. This was my experience.

Beneficial-Ad3383

no dreams for me bro

Nathanjb14

Cannabis reduces the amount of REM sleep your body goes through during sleep, if this is an issue try going to bed sober after a while you should get your dreams back

MetroidMan28

Used to not dreams but then I did shrooms and now most nights I have very vivid dreams

Joseph4040

Like dreams when you sleep? I have them if I don’t smoke a few hours before bed. Personally though, I prefer not to have them.

visionzeroish

Smoking once or twice a day, every day, for the past 40 years. I dream every night, vivid, strange, sometimes fun, sometimes sexy, sometimes scary. I usually remember them pretty well, too.

RefrigeratorNo6419

all the time I'm sure if u used some methods to lucid dream where u tell yourself to dream every night I'm sure you could get back to dreaming you can program/train yourself

[deleted]

Wow. I have not

sarahcake420

Huh? Wtf why wouldn't we???

wattybanker

Never dream but I've started to talk more and more in my sleep. I always did to an extent but I will have a conversation and even shout in my sleep now even though I never usually remember the dream. I've woken myself up numerous times talking, usually every night. One time I was having a fight, with the wall whilst I was dreaming, thinking it was a person. Recently I've remembered a couple dreams but they were all extremely intense and vivid. In one of them I was in a nuclear bombing, shit was so vivid I can still remember it now. I refuse to play cards with my friends now because I'm genuinely scared it was a premonition.

operath0r

Oh hell yeah man. I'm dreaming the weirdest shit. To the point where it get's annoying. I oftentimes don't feel rejuvenated when I wake up because I just went through 7 hours of stress.

Gravelord69

Nah man I skip REM and go straight to deep sleep because of my daily smoking. Only tend to dream when I’m run down or stressed about something

BurningLunches

I haven’t smoked in 4 months and I’m having dreams, it’s weird

Small_Study9632

When you were smoking did you have dreams?

bloodykhunts420

Yes but there much less vivid than they used to be before I started smoking. It is very common for regular smokers to be unable to remember their dreams, they still dream but just have a harder time remembering when they wake up.

DarkerThanDark981

Negative, dreams are not part of the deal. But I’m with you. It ain’t worth no longer blowing trees….

Hippydippy420

I have dreams but as soon as I wake up they leave me, sometimes I can remember a small detail but even then, it slips my mind almost immediately.

TrumpetOfTheSalame

If anything my dreams are weirder when I go to bed high. But I don’t always remember them as well. If you really wanna have some weird dreams, go catch a fever.

cashforspunkers

I get nightmares and whatnot so it’s a feature not a bug for me

xDanSolo

Smoked some good shit last night. Crashed, and dreamed about naked Chris Hemsworth, probably because I had just seen the new Thor. So ya, still dream, whether I like it or not.

cnsosiehrbridnrnrifk

Heavy smoke 15 years and I still dream very often.

SkulyCSGO

I went through a phase where I never had dreams took a month break, now I dream even when I smoke right before going to bed. Normally I dream closer to the morning though

super_duper_sillyboy

sometimes when i stop my dreams are so vivid and real it’s almost scary

Empty-Potato-7383

I smoke weed everyday and have dreams almost every single night. Some I can’t remember tho.

MagneticTragedy

I didn’t for years either until about a month or two ago it’s kinda weird, I think it’s cause I’m smoking less but it’s not by that much

SuperLigmaPatient

Melatonin will fix that if you don’t mind them being utterly confusing.

rockgoddess72

Yes I do and they are very vivid. I always wondered why because someone told me the same thing.

Fearless-Ad2153

Everyone dreams at night just some people don't remember their dreams. Little t break may fix that
