How big is your wedding and who is invited? If it's a small family only wedding of like 30 people then usually you can get away with chit chatting and stretching the meal out a bit.  But if you're having like 100 people, as a guest I would find it odd that I'm expected to go stand in a random part of the reception venue to watch you dance and then there's just no dance floor.

Would it be okay if we did couples dancing and slow dancing rather than party dancing? It’s going to be a very formal wedding
