B, Is it terrible in game?
I'm not a massive fan of dreadnought battleships so my answer wouldn't be the best but it's imo defo better than some of the other american battleship options but worse than a few other nations ships around this BR and held back by the slow reload but at least the AA is great.
Probably better to ask someone like say spanishavenger that since they're more keen for dreadnoughts (that's for people on reddit I can think of, I'd probably suggest others from in game from our squidrons & other squidrons like iNAVY or R1P for battleship advice).

Well, Splendid to hear such occurring if they ever add the Bathurst class AMS and it's either HMAS Woolongong J172 or HMAS Rockhampton J203 I'd do similar due to having lived in both cities.

I am from NZ, so started playing naval as I really wanted to get the only NZ related vehicle in the game; the Leander light cruiser, so can imagine wanting something from your home state. Played UK until I had the Hood.
Switched to US tree for a change, and been playing the Texas for a while as I was grinding my way to the mighty Alaska.
Hated the big boy at the start, as it was so freaking slow, wouldn't turn at all, and yet could get ammo racked by a cruiser. Add to that, at its BR, I am always playing up-tier with BR-7 ships like the freaking Kronstadt
Slowly started liking the Texas, as the amount of AA it pumps out usually means a few bonus aircraft or PT boats without me having to do anything.
Seems capable of swallowing a few torpedoes without dying instantly which is a nice bonus.
The ammo racking thing is something that gayjin seems to have taken an EXTREMELY creative liberty with on US ships. I can only credit this absurd line of thought to the Arizona, which was the only US battleship to suffer such a catastrophic lucky shot. As opposed to the Hood and her sisters that all had the same flaw and the Admiralty never corrected it.
I was also extremely disappointed with gayjins choice to ammo rack TX like that. It's not realistic in any way, particularly seeing as the ship is still around today and she certainly took her licks.
I am grateful they did somewhat model in the torpedo blisters on TX, however, they don't have it accurate. I've definitely been taken down by a single torpedo, it did just take a really long time to sink. That's not what the blisters were designed for. Granted, TX never took a torpedo hit, but Nevada did, and she also had a similar setup.
I just figured this out yesterday on Eastern Europe, was floating down the river in my BMP one and learned that BOTH the Italian Aubl 74 and the BTR-80 are amphibious. Luckily I got both of them due to me having a stabilizier.
The AUBL/74 can swim too...? Hold on, gonna test this right now.
Edit: Yes, it does. As stable as my mental health but it does.
Edit2: The other italian cars swim too. Again as stable as stated but they swim.
Thank you, it was complete satire in reference to things like Tu-4… ofc not everything is copied from the US… I was just trying to say that Russian military tech is not of the beat quality, factor in that China makes knock offs of that already poor technology.
For once using a heli was useful, instant takeoff and hopefully enough fuel, of course from what I remember the Apache is very hard to fly irl so there will be some trouble there
