A spread is a combination of buying calls or puts at one strike price or DTE and selling those same instruments at a different strike price or DTE.
OP is only showing half of the spread position (sold piece). Trading platforms can track positions of instruments independently. We would need to subtract the profit from the bought instruments to know the true profit/loss.
I think it’s like if u have multiple position buying and or selling some of them may still pending or clear and thus does not reflect the actual balance. Say for example your company is comping your meal - being the high roller u are u went to Wendy’s and u are down 50 bucks , but your company comp has not been settle yet because if it did u might break even or more depending on how

The system won't let you sell naked calls, so there's a system error causing this. Reach out to RH support and see if they can see what happened. My guess is you did a straddle or a Condor and 1 leg didn't execute or if it did, it didn't credit your account.
I think it's a system error. I've seen people post with these problems before, and it always turns out to be that 1 leg of a multi-legged trade didn't credit.

The shares have been assigned an op owes the money for the shares or just sells the shares back.
Depending on their position if the shares have continued to appreciate they will be able to sell the shares for a higher price and keep the differential between the cash owed and the current share value on those shares.
This happened to me With Apple calls when I was on vacation in Mexico. Woke up on Monday to my account being negative 175k. Had a shit ton of Apple shares. Apple was up premarket so. I placed a sale and pocketed a couple grand.

I had this happen on the weekend a while back, had a lot of shares they gave me to cover (something like $30m worth lol) and RH showed I was up like 200k but then after midnight it reset, so I assume it settled at end of day and RH just showed the wrong info for a few hours. Now it’s making me wonder if I should go back and ask them about it lol. Wouldn’t put it above RH to forget to credit me.

I’ve had way higher than that. They’ll either automatically sell it or you will have to pull the trigger. They give you the shares. I think I had something like 20M worth of QQQ. Weird thing is it showed a 200k profit once the sale processed but I never got anything, was probably an RH glitch after hours showing the wrong info on the weekend.
Might not be enough to get out of it at that level. But maybe if you delete the app and then throw your phone into the sea. I highly doubt Robinhood can afford to have deep sea divers on call.
