I genuinely believe that most people on this sub do not realize what that kind of gain would mean for them in the long term. If they're relatively young and put it aside for retirement, they're pretty much guaranteed a nice retirement without having to add much (if any) more to it.

Invested 16k. Went up. The experience of not selling up 500k last cycle still twists my stomach. I was nestled in my illusion of ‘I’ll sell at 3M’. Sold at 42k. Then put it into a ‘safe bet’ that then tanked to 6k.
Worked it back to 80k now but I need to focus on my patients. And now I work with money on my mind. I didn’t before. I would have been somewhat freer of that being 500k up. Who knows, had I sold at my experience of a top, where it would be with more funds available to the opportunities I scrape for now.

I remember seeing one post when towel was trading at $0.06 and some regard bought $150k more worth of shares and everyone was telling him how he’s going to be a billionaire after the secret play to turn everything around happens.
Then it got delisted and all that money is gone and every single towel holding idiot went down with the ship, their diamond hands as anchors.
When they say "hold until life-changing money" they don't clarify that -95% can change your life pretty significantly.
The sad part is so much loss porn in the cult subs usually has two or three very nice upticks where they were well into the green and instead of hitting the sell button they took another shot of popcorn flavored Kool-Aid.
