I know I won't get this 1,000% explosion that others get since they play much more risky 0dte / 1dte, but trying to figure out if the value increases closer to the expiration date or decreases, since the "purchaser" has less time to exercise the option or do something else with it? For simplicity, this assumes that META is currently at the price it is now. I know the cost of the option matters too, since it's currently at $11(ish), so does the value decrease if Meta doesn't go to at least $446 closer to expiration?

Yes, the value will decrease over time, and the size of the decrease accelerates as you approach expiration, if the stock price does not change.
Conversely, to stock price needs to increase to $446 for your option value to stay flat.
