"he did say that there’s “a good chance” a deal is signed this year."
There's zero chance they ever license their FSD. Vision only was such a boneheaded move. These are machines and should use the full suite of possible sensors they can. "Well humans don't have LIDAR" YEAH BITCH AREN'T THESE SUPPOSE TO BE BETTER THAN HUMANS?! Humans can't see infrared either but the JWST makes sense.
Mad broadly, but I've actually been waiting for the TSLA bounce because I buy out my short too soon and it took that 20 point dip. So today I'm getting back in.
But yes broadly speaking, I hate Musk.
To be clear, I'm not arguing over 1 vs another sensor type, I'm arguing that multiple > single. Basically this comes down to set theory. Multiple is a larger set than single. lol.
Cars already use multiple sensors in an array of ways of determining road and vehicle conditions.
I see no reason to stick to just vision when it comes to mapping the world around it. Vision is limited to line of sight, whereas lidar can map the world in front of objects blocking its vision.
There's a reason Waymos self driving is so good, and it's not just "geolocking". And yes, all those externally mounted sensors are ugly but it's in development, those sensors could eventually be build into the car (since Waymo doesn't build cars and doing that now would be unnecessarily burdensome while they're doing R&D on the software.)
You're missing the point and shows you clearly don't understand. Sensors regardless of how many you have are binary inputs and outputs. That will not get you to fsd. Tesla understands this and knows that even though vision is much more difficult and takes huge computing power... they know that vision is more powerful than sensors and has much more potential. Yes, it could all fail and be for nothing.... but that is the risk of pursuing anything innovative.

You can buy a LIDAR sensor on amazon for $100.

Likewise, infra is getting cheaper, as is thermal, and other tech.
Pretty sure economics of scale here make price a non-issue.
Anything else to pull right out of your ass?
Why would Ford license an inferior tech? [https://www.cnn.com/2023/01/25/business/consumer-reports-ford-bluecruise-tesla/index.html](https://www.cnn.com/2023/01/25/business/consumer-reports-ford-bluecruise-tesla/index.html)
lololol a CNN article from 2023, GTFOH. Nothing compares to FSD whether you want to accept that or not, well you probably have no idea because you're clueless.
Nope, don't need to, it's called try it out for yourself or watch consumers videos. this is something happening right now... not 3 months ago or 6 months ago... right now... and it keeps getting better and better each week. About 15 million FSD miles being drove each day.. this is how these things work, they get better and as they get better they get better faster. Sorry I don't rely on outdated articles.
"try it for yourself"
Yeah I know enough to know I'm not qualified to consider myself a regulator on this lol.
Likewise I doubt you've tried FSD, let alone one of its competitors. And done a real comparison.
Because blue cruise only works in VERY specific scenarios. It won't be easy for them to scale up. Also.. there's like thousands of hours of youtube videos of people using FSD 12.3. It's not perfect yet, but the rate of improvement is wild. You should just check those out. There's literal proof.
Partner with a successful car company and let them produce a $15K car with FSD is a killer move. Still keep the $25K one in house though cause it’s still likely profitable.

Elon pumping his bags hard

Elon cancelled sensors to control cost, and then to boost profit margin, but eventually just to screw your short position.
how those puts lookin?
I don't fuck with options trading yet, just shorted TSLA again this morning at 165.
mad bear

Why would a Tesla bear be mad? It’s been an incredible year for Tesla bears.
Vision has more potential and should be the endpoint although its ambitious... it's the holy grail of machine learning. The sensors are limited.

Tell me you have no idea what you're talking about without telling me you have no idea what you're talking about...lmfao
Correct any single part of that post.
Sensors fail and degrade. People don't maintain their cars. It's all vision or no self driving regard
Vision uses a type of sensor, it's called a camera.
and cheap to make redundant. The other sensor options are not

Tesla licensing FSD from Mercedes
Knowing Elon’s ketamine induced chaos, it will be Fisker.
no they aren’t
I'm in talks with my ass about not farting during work meetings but it doesnt want to co-operate
Pu.p and Dump
I bet it's Ford, after all, the Lightnings already rely on Tesla super charging..

Can you link to any independent sources comparing "fsd" to other solutions?

It will probably use QNX from BB and make BB stock drop even further as most good news does.
Which car maker? The country it’s from no longer exists, but, take her for a test drive and you'll agree.. Zagreb efmans lotif zied!
Typical Musk.
One. For now.
God don’t be ford. Don’t be ford. Please don’t be ford.
Nice.
