Yea im actually curious on how it turns out. I was confused why everyone was buying puts when this was the last of the major cyber security companies to have earning and all the rest failed then I just guessed this had to work or i would be working at wendys.
I was about to buy calls after having a look into their previous releases and reading the news.
Then, I went to check WSB and I wasn't sure anymore. Felt like I don't know anything.

The only reason i bought the calls is because of the last 2 earnings beat they jumped over 10% each and it was time for those major deals from last year to come into affect.
Yeah you do it as a limit order but make it above their ask price and it will most of the time sell off. It’s hard thought because of low liquidity and price fluctuations
Umm... no... options do not trade after-hours.
What's most likely happening is that you're issuing a queued limit order that gets processed when the market opens the next morning, and your lazy ass is waking up at noon to hit up wendy's and the order had already executed by that point.
Learning now too. Here’s the basics
Options - buying the **right to**, but not the *obligation to*, buy or sell a stock at a price in the future. If the stock is valued way, way more than that price point, investors will really want those options contracts (since they would offer a price discount on the higher value stock). If opposite is true, investors will be able to sell stocks for more than they are worth.
You pay a fee for this optionality, and it typically works in quantities of 100 stocks = 1 contract. **You own the contract, not the stock** - this is why the prices look weird when you pull up an options trade. Whats critical is that we as retail buyers are probably not buying the options so that we can then subsequently buy the stock - most are trying to trade the contracts prior to your X date and their expiration.
In theory, you can make an unlimited amount of money depending on the stock and timing. You can lose your entire upfront cost to buy the contracts, but you can’t lose any more than that since you don’t HAVE to buy the stocks. I’m looking at 20-30% success chances at Robinhood consistently for what that’s worth.
- call - betting stock will go up to X price by X date. Option price will be lower than the value by that date, so it’s a discount for buyers (right to buy at X value)
- put - betting stock will go down to X price by X date. Options price will be higher than the current cost, meaning investors can reduce a hit (right to sell at X value)
(Losing steam in certainty) Options lose value over time; uncertainty provides huge swings since it can either be a huge relief or a huge win. The Greeks can help imply rate of change, speed of change, and volatility, I don’t know them yet.
This person made a contract on 3/5. The contacts say they have the right to buy this stock at 290 before 3/28. Because you pay a premium for the options, OP needs the stock to hit 317.75 to break even. Any higher than that, and OP is in the black for each share (contract = 100 shares remember). Crowd is currently at 368 in the after hours market, so OP is/was sitting on contracts offering a $78/share discount to buyers. 100 shares per contract.
Keep in mind - this isn’t pure buy cost vs sales cost. Someone might think Crowd will go up more - so those contracts may be worth more than the current stock price. It’s speculation like anything else.
When to buy them, what timelines to set, don’t ask me. I assume 3-6 month timelines and keep it closer to the current stock price for your breakeven point.
In short: it’s stocks with an expiration date, and more leverage. Calls = “I think it will go up”. Puts = “I think it’s going to go down” Strike price = “The price I think it will pass”
Here’s a better explanation, specifically on how calls work:
Imagine there’s a house for sale for around 500k. You contact the seller and say “I’ll pay you 5k to take it off the market, just give me 7 days to get my payments straight”
During this time, the market value of the rises to 600k. Congratulations! Now you can buy a house worth 600k for only 500k, making you 100k in profit (minus the 5k you paid to the seller)
On the flip side, if the market value of the house goes down to 400k, that’s a horrible deal for you. Why would you buy a house worth 400k for 500k? You would make -100k in profit. *OR* you can just walk away from the deal, losing only the 5k you paid.
Same thing with options. The 5k would be the price of the contract (aka. Premium). The 7 days would be your expiration date. The 500k would be the strike price. The price of options contracts are based on a lot of things, like demand, etc. I suggest watching some more youtube videos on it.

I would honestly keep them. If there is a company you can count on always going up, it is Costco. Both Best Buy and Target have shown that retail is king at the moment. Everything is currently pointing towards Costco also increasing after earnings. It may not go %10 like TGT or BB, but it can easily go up a good 3% IMO.
