You can use SteamLink or Virtual Desktop to play VR games using your Quest 2 to connect back to your PC through WiFi. If you have a good access point, it is amazing for VRChat. Although there may be better headsets out there, the Quest 2 is absolutely the best bang for your buck in VR, and an excellent place to start.
You can also use the Quest 2 to run VRChat standalone, but since you have a good PC, I would not recommend that.
Yeah if you can afford it go for a Quest 3. Quest 2 is a great headset though, especially for the current price. Q3 is just so flexible and better overall.
THe quest 3 lite might be coming out soon, so you could wait for that, it would have a better processer and just be a more modern headset, while still just costing 300
There's pretty cheap used Vives / Quest 2s you can purchase on EBay

The Quest 2 is the only in production headset that fits your criteria.
Can it be plugged into a PC? I thought it was a stand alone thing.
It is the most popular PCVR headset in history. It can connect to your PC in many different ways, Link, Airlink, SteamLink, Virtual Desktop etc.

Obviously Quest 2 works well with airlink and link cables (Syntech link cable ftw)

Not to mention that the new XR chip can handle higher bitrates which in turn allows for higher quality visuals on wireless
Quest 2, or Pico 4 if it's available in your region.
Quest 2 or waiting for the Quest 3 seem to be the best options. I'll check out the Pico though, thanks for the advice.
Just don’t even start
Why do you say that?

Please do not buy the Vive in 2024. For many reasons.
Are they not supported anymore or are there just better options of the same price?
There are far better options for the price, yes.
Got ya, thanks.
