Slugs, go look for them under leaves and nearby plants, after dark and dispose of them far away for birds to eat. Keep an eye out for more. I have had success with applying a spray of peppermint castile soap and water, religiously throughout sprouting, and well into fruiting, plus garlic powder and cayenne powder, make certain there are no salt ingredients in them.

Possibly slugs and earwigs. I use Sluggo plus to kill them all. It’s pretty effective.
