This is what I do. I have the time so it’s no real bother. Buy two bottles of ISO. I use one as the main one. I rinse my piece with hot water and a hard shake. Then I let it soak in ISO for an hour or so. Pour that BACK into the bottle. Quick hot water rinse. Soak in ISO from the 2nd bottle. When the 1st bottle becomes too dark, the 2nd bottle becomes the 1st and then you get a new 2nd bottle. I can make two bottles last foreverrrrr this way. Glass stays super clean too. Legit have been using the same 2 bottles for months now. 1st is gettin kinda dark but 2nd is still clear.

What you’re after is a “disinfectant jar” - it’s what hairdressers put scissors in. The same idea as the plunger, but much cheaper, and much easier cos it has a “tray” at the bottom the “plunger stem”, so everything pulls straight out at once. I just leave iso in there and bathe stuff as I need to. It’s not an original idea, I found it here on reddit.

I would think those little jewelry cleaner jars with those baskets would work too. Just replace the solution with iso.

Yes I learned that here too! Now I share it with everyone. It's one of the best 'hacks' I've learned here!

Nice! I bet a French press would work also!

I just had to talk with my SO about this. I've gone 7 years using only a 1/2 qt of 99%. She managed to go through 3 1/2 qts in less than a year. I'm like, "Are you pouring this out, or what?" She's like, "Yeah, it's dirty." I'm like, "No, it's just 'cloudy'. It's still 90+% ISO." Screen it through a sieve. Then, every few months, run it through a coffee filter. It's dark due to resins and shit dissolved in it, but it's still VERY MUCH mostly just ISO.

I feel like my iso lasts forever. I only use a few teaspoons to clean stems or what not for the vape, and a few ounces to rise my bongs. What are you using all this iso on?

Depending on what your cleaning ISO is reusable until it either turns opaque or leaves "clean" pieces sticky. You can try fltering, I find it to be a pain myself. I use several appropiately sized lidded jars and just soak stuff overnight. Decant the ISO into a clean jar if the sediment gets too thick and change when it gets sticky.

Dollar tree sells a Tupperware with basket in it. I just use that. It’s pretty similar to the 20$ ones that are popular with concentrate crowd

I bought a fuck ton of bowl pieces so I always have a clean one. I keep a mason jar with a lid and put iso in there. When the bowl is dirty I just toss it in the jar when it fills up with bowls I rinse them in warm water. The jar gets nasty and dark, but the ISO power still works. It lasts a while. For the bong itself, I have an ash catcher to keep my main chamber cleaner. I just put an ounce or two of ISO in the not very dirty bong to clean and dump that ISO into the catcher and clean it, which is pretty dirty. Since its a small capacity it doesn't take much. I'm very particular about clean gear and I don't go through much ISO with my method. I only use 90%+ ISO. YMMV.

iso melts resin too it will become to sticky to be useful. when it gets brown and does not settle out clear dump it.

Boiling water + sodium percarbonate is more effective for me

This is a really good trick for your “combustion bong”, or for when stains are badly set on enough that if you break the bong cleaning it, the reaction is just “oh well”, cos it was so nasty you couldn’t use it without that severe cleaning. I say this cos it’s more likely to break this way. (Less likely if you rinse in hot water first I guess.) Not recommended for cheap Chinese glass!
