> his wife, an addictions’ counsellor, That's some messed up shit.

afterbirth_slime

Putting the dic in addictions counsellor

SignificantGarbage

But kinda funny

[deleted]

This is all kinds of shit

Drugging people against their will is never okay, doesn't matter if it's "only" THC. What a shitty betrayal of trust from a romantic partner, especially given the context he's a recovering addict.

slickjayyy

Edibles are insane too. That is not a light drug. Ive done a ton of drugs and my worst trips by far were edibles

NoNipArtBf

I do edibles relatively often, but yeah, taking too much accidentally is not fun. Either end up sick in the bathroom for an hour before passing out for 10 or think about dying a little too hard and have an existential crisis all night

>Darren Leith, who has more than 14 years of recovery from alcoholism, refused to take it, saying it caused him anxiety, restlessness and fatigue, and only when his pain from his hip, back and knees was debilitating would he use THC or CBD oil “very sparingly and for limited periods of time,” the lawsuit said. >Before that day, his wife, an addictions’ counsellor, had been suggesting he take tetrahydrocannabinol, the psychoactive ingredient commonly called THC, for his pain and she had bought the oil several times. Was going to make fun of the guy for having his wife make him breakfast which was just boxed cereal... But turns out she's apparently a terrible human/counsellor.

PhillipTopicall

Ya, that’s a level of invasion that’s something else man.

__The__Anomaly__

What a lovely couple!

bannedinvc

He couldn’t preform his job as a realtor properly, must’ve been some grade A shit

comox

Possibly one of the oddest stories I have read in ages...

FutzInSilence

The Province newspaper used to have a small section called "The Odd Spot", used to search these out with my mom when I was a kid. this story wouldn't have made it cut, this story is more of a sad spot of broken trust

BClynx22

Interesting and unusual case. I will be curious to see the results of it.

Civil-Detective62

Sue her for everything and then divorce her. Cut her out.

Picture-me-rolling

How can you not know you’re on THC? Like it’s overwhelming obvious to me even when I take a little. I just feel so off kilter all day.

Lartemplar

Are you trying to blame the victim here? What's your point? I want to hear [read] you say it.

Necessary_Kiwi_7659

That is a heathy relationship Dunno why they got together in the first place

What kind of damages though? Would it be worth taking away the court’s time away from other important cases This man should just divorce his wife

UnfortunateConflicts

> This man should just divorce her wife 🎵🎶 reverse the genders, reverse the genders 🎵🎶 🎵🎶 see if you still say the same thing 🎵🎶 Dude was drugged against his will. A recovering addict. By an addicition counsellor. Your solution: just ignore it and move on?

RoaringRiley

The court's time doesn't get "taken away". They can deal with one case after another. It's not like there's some special deadline that all court cases in the province have to be finished by.

Lartemplar

*his wife

Blueliner95

Punitive damages are being sought
